Your the only artist that suggests to add the soda ash on the flip side. I love that!!
Thank you for also explaining why you the way you do!
Love the final result ! Keep it cool bro
Love the shirt you have on!👏🏻
This was super cool my cousin (8 yrs. old) and I really enjoyed it!
You explain so awesomely thanks I will try this!
Possibly dumb question, but I'm just starting to really look into methods rather than just trial and error. Is there any reason this fold couldn't be used with traditional liquid dyes? We have a dye day or two each summer and we're hoping to try some ice dying, but I just wanted to check if this could be done with the bottled dye instead of just ice. Thanks!
Nice Offspring pun at the end😉
Hi, I love all of your designs and colours! What I am interested in is the possibility of using liquid natural dyes on shirts. (I know that colours are generally less vivid and I am ok with that.) would all of your designs still work, or is the "powdered dye with ice method" necessary for the shirts to turn out this way? Thanks! :)
what fabrics work well on ice dyeing???
what kind of powder did you use?? is that dyeing powder??
Do you prefer ice dye over liquid?
If so why, I have never tried to ice dye.
Wow gud job
One of the things I like is that you show it wet and then dry.
And powders or can use just use regular tie dye?
Very beautiful!!!
Te quedo cheverisimo...voy a ver si mañana mismo lo hago...porque me encanta manchar...bye luego te cuento...
i like these shirts there cool
ur so cool !!
Would it be a good idea to make an ice cube tray just with soda ash water then melt it with the regular ice cubes?
Totally, by all means :)
Where do you get the dyestuff ?
Hey you, Crispy, what are your name is on their with the duct tape on it. Like to go with it of your Jars. In the Alphabetical order.
do you have a instagram where you post stuff like this ?
and what is the soda ash for??English is not my mother tongue and my listening is not good, can you explain?
Tùng Beck soda ash makes the dye stain
to the shirt better i believe
what is soda ash and what purpose does it serve, not all tye dye as for it
Soda ash (sodium carbonate) is the fixative. It reacts with cellulose to prepare the fabric to chemically react with the dye to bind it permanently.
Do you save your soda ash solution after soaking your shirts?
Sure do, you can reuse it till it's gone
How do you avoid dark colors mudding up the lighter colors while you are rinsing? Or it doesn't because its sat for 24 hours? I feel like my light colors always get messed up....
All dye brands have a recommended "setting time" (anywhere from 4 to 24 hours)..so as long as you let it sit that long and rinse WHILE it's still banded, it should be fine. I know a lot of people get anxious to see the final result, so many will open the shirt, THEN rinse it, and usually long before that set time is up....both of which can cause the colors to mix in ways you don't want them to.
Where do you get your dye?
Can we giat use reglar dye and not powder
It's a cool pattern, but i think leaving a lot of the white in it would make the colors pop better. It needs the contrast imo
You seem to choose ice dye over using the liquid solution in most videos. Why is that?
Can you ice dye with rit?
What chemical are you washing the shirt in AFTER the dye is set ,rinsed and you put in the washing machine
Synthrapol... otherwise known as dyer's soap. Make sure you use just a tiny amount of it (half a capful at most), it's powerful stuff.
Can i do it without ice?
Why are you supposed to take the ice off before they melt? (the fist time you dye the shirt)
Because there comes a point where the dye has already melted as deep into the shirt as it's needed, so all further ice is going to do is water down the dye, making your shirt more faded.
I am trying this design tomorrow for 12 yr old son, with liquid dyes
Awesome job. Where do you get your dyes from?
Dharma Trading Co.
Thank you
Would this design work without doing the ice dye method?
Yep! It's the way you fold your shirt and apply the dye that matters, not the dye method itself. You can use ice with powder dye, ice with liquid dye, just plain liquid dye, or washable white glue (lay shirt flat to apply the glue before dying - it's a pretty cool process, but you have to let the glue dry completely before dying, it gives the pattern more depth) with liquid dye.
do you have a shop man?
I love that green. What shade did you use?
It's Bright Green from Dharma :)
Crispy Thanks. That is the shade I've been looking for.
Do you have to use ice for this shirt?
Nope, you can use regular liquid dyes and still get the S design.
Mandate marca colori in polvere?
i want to buy that D;
can someone tell me the purpose of the ice......isn't it easier to just put the dye on the fabric instead of the ice and powdered dye......is it better to use the ice?
sandra white its just to make the pattern
You can do it either way. Typically when using ice, the colors are often more faded/pastel-ish (when using the liquid dye), but with the powder, it becomes a bolder shade...plus it depends on how long you let the ice sit, too. It saturates more if you let the ice melt completely, but taking the ice off earlier means there is a chance it only penetrates through one layer (front or back) of the shirt instead of both sides....if you're careful, you can have the same design - but in different colors - on both sides with the powder...this is not possible with the liquid dyes. So...it really comes down to exactly how you want your shirt to come out as to which type of dye you use and what technique you use.
Che colori usate, nn riesco capire. .
Vous pouvez me donner la marque de la poudre que vous mettez sur le tissu
Est-ce que les pigments ça peut marcher
You should sell tie dye shirts I would but them as long. As they are not outrageously priced
what ink is this???
,,, like video, very good!
It's not ink, it's dye. From the looks of it, I'd say RIT Dye, as that's the only dye I've seen that comes in those black tubs.
shouldnt there be an angry "honk" and some other ruckus from the carport in this video? ;)
Hahaha, good memory. I edited it out ;^)
oh dwamn you!
How much time I let the ice on a shirt before removing?
