I think people will be surprised that negative media won't effect our recruitment. People still love our band and for those of you unsure don't let the press discourage you. Mistakes have been made and will be paid for but these are not and should not be used as an example of everyone in our programs moral character. You can rest assured that as long as you follow the law and avoid what you're not supposed to do you will be fine. R.I.P Rob
@7thSwell I agree with you although I have adopted FAMU's band, in my spirit, in my conversation. Which all came about when Rob died. This band is phenomenal, I don't believe that there is nothing that this band can play. I laugh at the really cool entrances you all make onto the field,the showmanship is phenomenal, the instruments phenomenal, & yall can dance & sing.I enjoy the RUclips videos you all have. You all will be back soon FACT THAT STAT!
It's sad that there are FAMU supporters posting comments blaming the media for this incident rather than the band culture that exists @ FAMU, and ultimately the perpetrators of this horrible crime. They value marching band participation over human dignity, justice and life. Smh
@7thSwell Ima junior in high school now,and Ii am certain I still want to go up to famu and be part of the 100.people look at me weird when I say that b/c I'm white.but I live famu more than any other college.and all this negative media hasn't changed my mind one bit
your right. but i went to fam too. all i can say is i hope the negative attention changes some the practices/behaviors into positives. because i knw first hand some the dumb shit the 100 used to do. RIP Rob and peace to the Family. My prayers are with everyone because its ppl out there that want to see all us fail.......
It's not the band staff, but more so the actions of the students. I too marched in a very prestigious HBCU band, and we were "brought into in a program"; HOWEVER, you can not go overboard bc at the end of the day, it's not that fucking serious. You go to college to get an education, hopefully to be able to provide for your family. Call your fellow band member when your light bill is due after you graduate and think it will get paid, LOL yuh right! I'm sure Dr. Foster is pissed!
