The sound like no other. This was the last show that Dr. White Directed. It was great. RIP Robert Champion. We loved you but God loved you best. Angela Bethel 100
The death of Robert Champion was a shame. His legacy of no band is also a shame. Fairness dictates that things must change but we can't throw the baby out with the bath water so goes the saying. We must find a way to restore to Marching 100 to its former glory for traditions sake and to honor Robert Champion.
From reading a few articles on the issue it seems there were people who cared and spoke up about it. There were multiple complaints by parents and it seems they were ignored until it escalated as high as it can go. It's sad that this is what it takes for people to truly get angry over the issue.
Im going to miss that sound for a few years. The 100 is in the rebuilding process and has a ways to go to get back to that. Dr. Young is the right man for the job he will have the band back to form in no time.
Yea, there are spacing issues in the Wisconsin band as well. Additionally, we have a very large brass sound, but an equally large woodwind sound. Btw, I'm a member of the University of Florida "Pride of the Sunshine" and the INCOMPARABLE Marching 100 at Florida A&M.
they got so crunk at the end!!!!!!!! lool this really was a good show over all... i dig... and i dig the into to that fanfare... comin' in pianissimo. nice. RIP ROBERT CHAMPION... MANE REST!
Famu did really great! I personally believe that the band looks better with only about 5-6 drum majors. But regardless The 100 is still one of the most important music programs in the country.
FAMU all the way!!!! 33 Sad to hear about the drum major. FAMU is f*cking fresh to death!!! Don't get me wrong , bcu does have a pretty good band. And some terrific drum majors. But my heart will always be with FAMU, regardless of what anyone says!!!
Well, what do you expect? Half the crowd is there to see one band and and team and the other half is there to see the other. It would be like finding out half of FAMU's starting line up was suspended for the season, but might as well have been the way the team turned out this season.
@djunior2011 @ the 8:40 mark look @ the Drum Major in the 4th row one of the band members moves too early causing his rhythm to be thrown off causing him to attempt to pickup his Mace too early. He didn't drop his Mace he laid it down like the other 5 DM's did he just attempted to pick his back up too early. But like I said the other band member moving too early caused that......
Yea I know what the crowd was in 2011 I was there Upper Deck 50 Yard Line 1 row thats how I recorded this video. I didnt even want to drive down this year because the band wasnt there is that bad, so it was only 32,000 my bad lol
@brlion66 thats why i said probably. cause know one knows yet who's gonna be the new head director but i hope it will be one of the assistants to keep it in the family
now that Dr. White is fired this will probably be the last good show the 100 will ever do. im mad at the ass holes who killed that drum major. i swear there is always somebody that has to ruin a good thing. anyways good show marching 100
HAZING has been going on for years and call it what you may. Yes a mistake did happen and lead to a death which in no way is excused. The question is did he know what he was getting in to before he joined the 100? Was he hazed at Southwest Dekalb? Do Drum Majors get it the worst? Do other members in its respected sections participate in hazing voluntarily to gain respect? If it was such a problem how come nobody cared or spoke up or made a scene until somebody dies? HBCU Bands Haze even BCU....
This is an energetic band that has an extreme brass sound, but the drill precision needs serious work. There were gaps so big that I couldn't tell if they just space terribly, or if someone was missing. btw, I'm a member of the Wisconsin Marching Band. On, Wisconsin! Beat Michigan State!
@Ms2011Layde I feel your pain and totally understand your point and death of any man should not have happened and I cant speak too much on anything else.
It tells you the impact of a band when the "100" is not at the Florida Classic the crowd was only at 35,000 which is the lowest it has ever been since being in Orlando. Its so sad bring the 100 back please we need them lol
No actually he went to pick his mace or is it called baton up before the other drum majors picked up theirs. That early mistake by another band member threw his rhythm off. The majors laid them down at the same time the pick up was where the mishap was.
Its just sad that the actions of some assholes have literally brought down one of the best programs in the country. Dr. White is now officially fired. And this band will probably only be a shell of what is was. This is senseless and needs to stop.
RIP to the DM that passed. I love both bands equally but FAMU took the halftime again this year. BCU still sounds incredibly good, but their halftimes haven't been the best as I've seen from them the past 2 years. I look at the florida classic from 98 and how BCC (at the time) acted a fool on the field. I think whats missing is the creativeness the kids had in the band back then. Anyway, FAMU put on a good show as well as BCU, but FAMU was entertaining from start to finish. Props to bothbands.
I don't understand why you guys are even trying to argue with this MStiff726 guy really lol. It's not like he's saying anything that makes sense or something.
This show goes deep in the history books of FAMU. RIP Robert, your SWD FAMILY will never forget you!🙏🏾
My frat brother Dr. Foster was truly a genius in creating the 100. Big ups to FAMU and RIP and a big 1900000006 to Bro. Dr. Foster!
We'll never see them as big and good as this again. It's a shame..RIP. Sad. just sad.
Size≠quality
The sound like no other. This was the last show that Dr. White Directed. It was great. RIP Robert Champion. We loved you but God loved you best.

What a great show!!..... i usually don't watch the full halftime show but i had to this time. Love the ending ....
this band never fails to amaze me.. WOW!... that fanfare was on point from them on... they only got better.
i remember this XD this was my first football game i ever went to... best band ever!

the marching 100 made it every child dream to be a drum major at one point in their lives. shame to hear of what happened
Magnificent as usual! #OldSchoolFAMU
I wish I could do a year or two FAMU to see what it's like to be in a MEAC.

Man I really hope I can get in the 100, gotta keep workin hard!
SOMETHING IN MY HEART
they got so crunk at the end!!!!!!!! lool this really was a good show over all... i dig... and i dig the into to that fanfare... comin' in pianissimo. nice. RIP ROBERT CHAMPION... MANE REST!
space chords in the beginning....i love it
Even though Robert Champion is died tragically (R.I.P) i still wanna be a rattler and part of the marching 100. #hopefully

He was the 4th from the left
Famu did really great! I personally believe that the band looks better with only about 5-6 drum majors. But regardless The 100 is still one of the most important music programs in the country.

FAMU all the way!!!! 33 Sad to hear about the drum major. FAMU is f*cking fresh to death!!! Don't get me wrong , bcu does have a pretty good band. And some terrific drum majors. But my heart will always be with FAMU, regardless of what anyone says!!!
i miss them marching ''100s'' so much i d care what they did its all about them one day im going to be in that band love them
Correction 32,000 in 2011 it was over 60,000...
@TheDragonmaster18 not really Dr.chipman and Dr.holloway have been by his side for a long time and know how to run the program.
I remember when the drum majors actually did the drill on the field within the band...the good ole days like back in 2001....
Well, what do you expect? Half the crowd is there to see one band and and team and the other half is there to see the other. It would be like finding out half of FAMU's starting line up was suspended for the season, but might as well have been the way the team turned out this season.

They are good, and they are big, but not gonna say they are the best!
Whats the name of the first song they played.
@JavontaeRashawn Please explain "Bus C" or is that a secret?
Yea I know what the crowd was in 2011 I was there Upper Deck 50 Yard Line 1 row thats how I recorded this video. I didnt even want to drive down this year because the band wasnt there is that bad, so it was only 32,000 my bad lol

This is nothing short of raw talent!!! Too bad they're suspended though. =( #Marching100 #RattlerPride

Its just sad that the actions of some assholes have literally brought down one of the best programs in the country. Dr. White is now officially fired. And this band will probably only be a shell of what is was. This is senseless and needs to stop.

Nasty!
The Dirty Dozen
yall cnt be serious.a young man died an yall are worried about a band...smh
It's super sick, honestly. This video is so dark and morbid to watch, knowing this was the young man's last moments right before his death.
RIP to the DM that passed. I love both bands equally but FAMU took the halftime again this year.
