Why can't other except that the human jukebox is the best band in the land. Trust I love all my HBCU bands and that all play songs different. From the swac to the meac to the ciaa and to the siac. They all sound good. Stop comparing black bands to one another. We haven't came this far for nothing. And that to All bands that do a great job on performance to field shows. To all alumni and present members, enjoy what yall do. Don't be quick to judge. Big up to the jukebox, famu, sonicboom. Yall always been my favorite all my life.
Truly a battle of styles. Apples and Oranges. FAMU sounds good with no over playing and SU bringing heat as they normally do. Not much by way of missed notes by either. It's about what you are into. Good job both bands.
Hubba 100 Fall 98 in the House!!!! That 100 sound is Serious!!!! Southern don't even tune it's more to just blowing at the top of ur lungs with no tone
Famu sounded wonderful. Absolutely musical. Su sounded okay but they were blasting without listening to each other. No blending or balance. And where tf was the low brass at?
Famu had me all hyped and then when SU started playing... everything changed. Over playing, tubas ughhh don't even hold up ur tubas in the air after playing like that. That was just nasty. FAMU wins hands down. No debate about it.
@BassClefKilla I totally agree. There are some songs I like from Southern. But as a woodwind player in the 100 I always appreciated the fact that my 100 brothers and sisters in the brass did not overpower us..and that we are taught how to consider each other in our playing so that we balance....On the other hand there are songs that I like from Southern...I happen to think they have the ILLEST "And Then What" Ever! Give props where props are due, I wish we did that more. We are musicians, ya'll
This is what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object.... XD...Both bands are gud as hell.. Two diffrent styles and they do their styles to perfection and thats what makes them the best in their confrences.. hubba 100 !!!!
Unbias critque Famu had a balance full sound, Su was loud particularly lower brass! As an adult and former band member, famu pleases my ear but if I was back in my highschool band, I would be saying su based on the volume!
FAMU tuba section showed up for war. Southern I think maybe 2 or 3 of them came. But I definitely heard Southern even when I turned off my phone I still can hear them.
Whoever was recording should’ve been in the middle of the field for those debating about sound quality. That being said, FAMU and Southern are my favorites besides NSU and NCAT. Based on this alone FAMU got it, ONLY because of what I hear quality wise.
Just close your eyes and listen to both Famu and Su band. Now imagine Famu and SU sound together... If you are really into music and have an ear for music, you'll know what I mean....
Ok am I the only one that notices that Famu's camera is on the field, and SU's camera is in the stands right in front of them?? LOL So there is no way anyone can say that SU was louder. I was there and SU got drilled with sound and a better arrangement. no need to hate, its just true!
You can tell FAMU's sound is more mature especially in the field shows. When SU turns away in a drill, you can barely hear them bc all they do is blast a sharp skinny sound. This is a problem with a lot of bands in SWAC or those trying to be like SWAC. FAMU has a loud, mature, deep, balanced sound. When they turn around in a drill, you can still hear them just as loud and clear. That's the difference between SWAC and MEAC.
I'm give this one to Famu. If it wasn't for them tubas SU would of had this hands down. I wish they would get brass tubas because they cranking now but with brass!!! LAWD HAVe MERCY!!LOL
famu is playing on Full Size Sousaphones and SU has fiberglass . that's has a lot to do with volume. it's nothing to crack a fiberglass tuba. As far as musicality Famu they gave it to them i also like how famu stagger breathes majority of the song but as far as Arrangement. I like the way SU arranges theirs. it sounded more full. they were a little sloppy but the didn't sound completely horrible . I have heard worse from both bands and I have heard better from both. but famu has to went. Loud is not always the way to go. musicality is what matters more to musicians. anyone can get out there and blow the hell out of an instrument but who can control it better. that's why I give it FamU
@DTex yes i did. but somtimes i wonder are people judging thes bands by volume and power and who is more entertaining or who is the better band ? an honest question
FAMU finessed the hell out of Vice Versa. I have to give props where they are due. SU was a bit too aggressive, and that took away from an otherwise nice arrangement.
I enjoyed FAMU lol I've listened to and examined each part of each band idk how many times on this video. FAMU is definitely clean, and precised. SU was loud but it sounds kind of sloppy but they were definitely into it and I've never heard this song performed at that tempo. It sounds like squealing. FAMU was my personal fave.
the only thing off about SU was that it didnt sound like vice versa. dont get mad cause they half famu size and played louder. i heard them playing and the only mistake was that trumpet hangover, but then again you could hear famu trumpet hangover EVEN WHEN THE SONG IS STILL GOING.
Anyone can blast and be loud. Best sound in this one goes to Famu. But if it's about blasting and screaming altissimo notes, that would go to SU.

Can’t imagine what they sounded like when actually being there vs online
Famu percussion and tubas did it for me..... I love how the percussion (tat tat tat then bass drums rubbling) come in after tubas!
Truly a battle of styles. Apples and Oranges. FAMU sounds good with no over playing and SU bringing heat as they normally do. Not much by way of missed notes by either. It's about what you are into. Good job both bands.
FAMU WON

Hubba 100 Fall 98 in the House!!!! That 100 sound is Serious!!!! Southern don't even tune it's more to just blowing at the top of ur lungs with no tone
Anshan Hall Y’all ain’t got no nuts 🥜
Famu sounded wonderful. Absolutely musical. Su sounded okay but they were blasting without listening to each other. No blending or balance. And where tf was the low brass at?
+Daniel Olufelo
That was that southern band. This southern band is more balanced
There brass was playing over the low brass

Love FAMU

.....The fuck you listenin' to?
@@kjosiah5 wait you liked SU? 😂

He'll yea I thought famu was loud
Did anyone think that when SU started to play Vice Versa, it sounded kind of like an elephant
amit balkaran yes

Famu's tone, blend and balance not too mention tubas sound way better
Mayor.West SU....a jukebox....FAMU....musicians

Still legendary so many years later!
So glad my pops was in the 100. Bumping this in 2018
ill take famu in this 1
SU don't tongue for shit tho!!! FAMU took this one!
Typical SWAC band just blow loud as you can.
This is what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object.... XD...Both bands are gud as hell.. Two diffrent styles and they do their styles to perfection and thats what makes them the best in their confrences.. hubba 100 !!!!
As an SU fan I've got to give that song to FAMU
I totally agree man and that actually made a lot of sence
this been up since 2009 and it has no dislikes......... crazy
Idk why but I’m over here crying and getting emotional watching and listening to this thinking college football may not happen FU 2020
could you imagine if FAMU's tubas played that song with SU's high brass? WOAH
FAMU can't wait till you all come back!!!
the Mascot for FAMU is directing lol
Unbias critque Famu had a balance full sound, Su was loud particularly lower brass! As an adult and former band member, famu pleases my ear but if I was back in my highschool band, I would be saying su based on the volume!
see how FAMU holds out their PHRASES tho....thats the difference between musicians and ppl who can just blow...ITS ALL ABOUT THE MUSIC
FAMU WON!!! I cant wait to go ta FAMU BAND
Im SU Juke box fan, which is the best band in the land, but I give famu props as for who plays vice versa better, famu won this particular battle !!!
FAM sounds SO much better!
WOW Sounds like 2 different songs. FAMU details vs Southern Screams
FAMU tuba section showed up for war. Southern I think maybe 2 or 3 of them came. But I definitely heard Southern even when I turned off my phone I still can hear them.
THANK YOU!
I just can't take that mascot seriously, trying to get crunk lol
God I hope FAMU bounces back. I miss them and they were the most dominate or one of the most dominate band in HBCU.
Not when that morris brown got ahold of them 😂
Go famu. Miss being a tuba player for this very reason
IN LOVE WITH THIS VIDEO!!

can't wait till they get back to this 🔥🔥
That was Jones High School of Orlando Florida at Wrestlemania
I know FAMU is all about musicianship and everything but if i'm that deep, all im thinking is BLOW!!!!!!
su WAS LOUDER BUT THEY SOUNDED SUPER HORRIBLE,FAMU SOUNDED LOUD,CRISP AND CLEAR....AND NOTICE THE CAMERA IS CLOSER TO SU BAND ALSO
@55diory exactly , it hurts my ears in volume, but theres more in music quality than just volume....
@famupiccolo92 as an Alumni of The SU and a trumpet player myself, I couldn't agree more!
Ok am I the only one that notices that Famu's camera is on the field, and SU's camera is in the stands right in front of them?? LOL So there is no way anyone can say that SU was louder. I was there and SU got drilled with sound and a better arrangement. no need to hate, its just true!
famu always sound so clean
Can somebody tell me if FAMU has dancers like the SU Dancing Dolls or the ASU Stingettes? I never see any dancers in their videos.
Lol is it just me or have i always wondered who were those people in the front of Famu’s band that’s always dancing. (the people in the front row)
FAMU killed dat

@DTex yes i did. but somtimes i wonder are people judging thes bands by volume and power and who is more entertaining or who is the better band ? an honest question
FAMU finessed the hell out of Vice Versa. I have to give props where they are due. SU was a bit too aggressive, and that took away from an otherwise nice arrangement.

SU sound like a crying baby right here and I like them real talk
FAMU's quality is superb. Definitely greater than SU. I give SU props from being louder with fewer people.

lolol I love how the mascot is actually doing the right conducting to instead of just mocking the drum major
@BassClefKilla took the thought right out f my brain..ima use that one
Brooo you couldn't hear su tubas at all in the beginning
07 had a lot of new members for the hundred that year

The best thing SU ever did was to get rid of those fiberglass tubas.
a lot of people saying southern won, but to me you gotta give props when deserved..ima HUGE SU fan but famu got this round...
Coming from a Southern fan: FAM got yall on that one.
Is it cause the distance of the camera or is the sound not with the vid?
ayyeeeeeeeee dey went ham boi i want to gotew famu wen i grow up but samu30906 look us up on youtube
Famu tubas on those lows tho!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's my one gripe with SU
the only thing off about SU was that it didnt sound like vice versa. dont get mad cause they half famu size and played louder. i heard them playing and the only mistake was that trumpet hangover, but then again you could hear famu trumpet hangover EVEN WHEN THE SONG IS STILL GOING.
Goosebumps
those baritones
@mrspeed48 no they dont. there are dance groups that try and dance with the hundred at games but none of them are official
SU allday no competition
Finally someone understands quality instead of blowing they ass off
Get it brass and Percussion
Do you guys know the name of the theme?
