Hi John. I pop by every so often to look at your videos. I couldn't read music when I started watching them years ago but you inspired me to go back to piano lessons. I did about three months of lessons aged 12 . I went back two years ago aged 58. I am so glad I did. I am not doing exams but I am trying grade 5 pieces now. Thanks for the inspiration.

I traded carpentry skills for a 1930's acrosonic, repaired it, and today had it tuned, I'm 43 and have never played piano before, so this is a good song to start with. this tutorial had me playing right away

Studio ZOO Actually, the audio is still there, it's just on a single channel. Many of my older videos were recorded on a monaural track, which wasn't a problem back when You Tube was also mono, but can be an issue now. Just go to your main audio settings and put the tab in either the center or all the way to the other side, and you should be able to hear it just fine. If you have any problems, let me know!

This video is spot on. I just have one little point of complaint; I'm pretty sure that on the E7 chords, John Lennon first just plays the G# and B in the right hand on the first downbeat of the chord and adds the D on the second downbeat of the chord. I love that part because of the moving melody in the chords and how it resolves to F, so I thought I'd point it out. Thanks again!

I'm 32 and just started playing piano a year ago... and I'm a decent player and still progressing quickly. Granted, I have extensive experience with the cello and bass guitar, but I agree with burnsie... it's never too late.

Hey there, pianojohn... you're blowing my mind -- I've been watching all of your different piano tutorials and you've opened a world of music to me... I picked up an old upright at a thrift shop and love to tinker. I would really love to learn Sorry Seems to Be The Hardest Word -- I have found a few versions posted on RUclips but NOTHING broken down the way you do your explanations, man. You are my go to for piano tutorials. When I'm looking for a piano tutorial and you pop up I go "SCORE!" By far my favorite instructional videos. Not overly simplified or overly complicated. Not too slow paced not too fast. Perfect. These videos looked pretty dated though, when were they taken?

I think I can help some of the people out that are having trouble making it sound the way John plays it during the part thats after "You may say I'm a dreamer" and before "but I'm not the only one." Keep the left hand octaves the same as John has it, but instead of playing E G C twice in the right hand, play it once and on the 2nd beat play E G B. Then when your playing the E octaves in the left hand, play G# B E in the right hand, and on the 2nd beat play G# B D. Hopefully this was helpful.
