In a nutshell, I ‘m an avid dumpster diver, scrapper, picker, treasure hunter and underwater connoisseur. I prowl the city streets in search of dumpster loot, curbside treasures & scrap metal as well as scour the river bottoms for lost valuables during the summer months when I can scrounge up enough money for gas. @@spaight711 If you have the time/space... It's always better to clean the motors up. Also, ease of removal of the copper.
Me I always break them down to maximize my $$$ per trip to the scrap yard.
@@spaight711 The best is to find a yard that pays good for the motors as is. My yard pay enough that it doesn't really make sense to break them down unless they are over 100 lbs

I just ran across your site and I love it. We have two dumpsters here in our large mobile home park and one is for recyclables. The other is junk that I check about three times a week. I took our recyclables down about an hour ago and came back with a like-new set of jumper cables, electrical boxes and new duplex receptacles. I've rescued a few laptops and desktops in the last four years. Glad to see I'm not the only scrounger in this world.

Soak the back of the fan in rubbing alcohol 90% for about 30 minutes pour some distilled water through the motor area and let dry in the sun should work perfectly after motor is probably gooped up

Mike when u get those rims with tire left on, just take a Sawzall and cut through the bead of the tire the rims scrap anyways, if they were steel rims you would heat the bead of the rim where the tire seats until you start seeing a Little Smoke Off the tire and then the bead will pop off really easy. Enjoy watching you go through those dumpsters

Where does all that dumpster trash go ?? ..A massive hole in the ground that contaminates the environment for thousands of years...or is it recycled to some degree ??
In the UK and the EU commercial companies have a duty of care for their waste which means recyling as much as possible. In the USA they just dig a hole and run away lol....
Unfortunately that is all too true ,we waste alot in the states ,that should be reused ,recycled
Sawzall those beads on those rims and do a motor scrapout with weights only copper and cast aluminum. If motors are aluminum windings forget the scrapout and go for weight and payout clip.

I salvage those plastic tool boxes and cut the inner parts out, they make great parts storage boxes. Got rid of a few to friends when they have seen mine!

I used to be a scraper but nothing to the level you are. And even then, I made TONS of money. My father would sit in the carport stripping down and separate all I brought home to increase it's value. A very simple and yet, very profitable way of life.

I don’t understand why people would be upset with you scrapping anything, no matter what it is. You’re making a good buck but also helping keep our landfills clean!
You should note the company details where the bin was, you will probably find those motors in products they sell and then you have half your work done for ebay. Those motors are a good find, love it.
Thise adjustable tables are great for the garage and I use one for tile setting in kitchens where the backsplash are getting tiled or any tile up above the floor more than about 3 feet.

When l lived in Houston, fans were good to find. Musta grabbed 5 a season, some just needed cleaning. Still brought 2 with us to the desert.

I cut those tires off with a Sawzall or grinder. That was a truly awesome haul.

You can use them motor's for wind turbines and other electric generators. I've got one from a treadmill for that purpose and it's 12 _180v and at 400 RPM is enough to charge a battery bank to run your house so I'm thinking they would only need about 200 rpm to have the same power as mine. Sell them for that use after you test them.💚💛❤️👍
Your excitement of your finds what's me to buy a truck and dive in. I don't know why a company would trash those motors instead of selling them at a discount rate. I guess the right off is greater. Great for you they did.

Bolt cutters work great for clipping tires off rims. Use a tin snips for strands to small for the bolt cutters

Those blow mold cases you take a Dremel and cut around the outside and you have a cool regular anything case.
Make sure and thank your bros that are looking out for ya ,
About the motors. They have multiple wires on the leads. And a circuit board. Looks like the rotors are permanent magnets. They may be stepper motors and if so might be worth a lot.
Sawsall on the tires. and yeah I( would like to see a scrap run on the motors and wire from them. Good scrapping.
