In a nutshell, I ‘m an avid dumpster diver, scrapper, picker, treasure hunter and underwater connoisseur. I prowl the city streets in search of dumpster loot, curbside treasures & scrap metal as well as scour the river bottoms for lost valuables during the summer months when I can scrounge up enough money for gas. Man those old metal desks are great for tool cabinets. Just use the ends riveted together and the drawers and guides hold a ton.

TPASS or PASS (personal alert safety system) are use by fire fighter on their SCBA (air packs). If it's not moved for around for a certain time it will start to alarm. If still not moved by the firefighter it will start to alarm even louder. Thus alerting others of you located and possible distress.
I hare those alarms as when I was down at 9/11 was an Erie sound you heard coming from the debris field at the site. Yes I was there and that sounds haunts me to this dag.
I was a First Responce Team Member and was down there.
True but the TPASS4 can also send mayday signals to and receive evacuation signals from a command control system such as "in command" which can also perform a roll call to all tpass4 devices assigned to it.

Mike I mean this in the most respectful way possible, but you have the exact voice that I would expect a person who goes through the trash looking for scrap to have. Keep up the good work! It also breaks my heart to see ammunition in the trash.
I feel the same way about that ammo. Sometimes you can almost read the story of how things ended up there. That looked like old ammo and hunting stuff that was probably from an older family member that passed.

I use to dumpster dive when i was homless. i got my life together,and doing alot better now.i miss finding odd things in the dumpsters.
Mike, those spools make great "stained outside tables" for a porch.
I came to comment the same thing, ive seen way bigger spools used as tables and the hole is already in the middle for umbrella 👍
You can make a 'wall ' of plant stands on a patio with those wooden spools shaped like Vs' & Ws' with shorties starting in the middle and
taller ones at ends of your row..... or vice versa..... mix em up making W patterns...just sayin...

Tpass 4 worn by fire fighters and other emergency responders, it has a whole range of capabilities but mainly is used for motion detection, if the person wearing it doesn't move for a certain amount of time it will give a warning tone if the wearer does not press a button on it the Tpass will send out an emergency single and the wearer can then be found through GPS. For reliability and safety they are inspected every so many hours, the ones you found probably failed inspection or that department upgraded.

The gallon jug that you found looks like a White House (brand) vinegar jug. They came in 1/2 pint (that are rare) up to a gallon size. Some are embossed with the name on the side and others stamped on the bottom. And some are unmarked. Thanks for the fun
You take out 4 screws from the reel and the wire comes off easy. You add the 4 bolts of steel to the mix and ditch the reel

As per ammo I most F.D. will take unused ammo a d dump I se of that for you.
I could have a battery holder with a led lights and can label it Homeland Security and call it a day.
Anything with a label like that on it goes back to a surplus yard to dispose of safely or auctioned off.
Mike there can be dozens of scrap collection places and will always be more to collect and cash in on.
That blue electrical cord is more valuable then scrap. Thar cable costs more then $250.

Love it. Reminds me of a time a long time ago was pretty broke. Went around and collected old batteries, steel, aluminum, etc...whatever we could get our hands on. Paid some bills and had a pizza 🙂

TPASS is an alarm work by firefighters that goes off if they stop moving so other firefighters can find and rescue them.

Haven't done diving in a long time till today I looked in the dumpster and exactly I found a lottery ticket worth $200 so you know what I did jumped in and got it and then wait until tomorrow to cash it
The Tpass 4 is the last version on the personal alert system used by firefighters. They are currently using tpass 5

You could take the bolts out of the end of the spool and get just the wire off it to save room in your truck
