it’s also important to remember that not every person with tourette’s may feel this way about people reacting to their tics! every person feels differently about it, so make sure to ask anyone you know with tourette’s if they’re comfortable with you laughing with them at their tics!
Once in theatre we were backstage and my friend with Tourette’s very loudly said “don’t worry dear children” during a scene and we all lost our minds laughing. It’s never mean spirited and we don’t laugh when she’s hurt 👍
Thank god, I thought I was just the devil for laughing whenever you say "I got rice", the first time I heard it I was caught off guard and I laughed so hard
The delivery of "I got rice" is just so cute, the tone and expression are adorable as heck. I hope your hitting tics doesn't cause you too much damage, I understand how dangerous it can be especially in the chest. Thank you for being willing to share your journey and help educate others about a serious condition that's still barely understood. I wish you nothing but happiness and ease in your life, may you continue to stand strong against those who do not yet understand ❤
You should start carrying around small bags of rice, so whenever you say "i got rice" you just hand a small bag of rice to whoever is closest to you.
“I got rice” is definitely one of the most unique tics I’ve ever witnessed
I find “I got rice” amusing. I’m glad that she has an upbeat attitude and knows the difference between laughing with someone and laughing at someone.
I feel like some “I got rice” are timed perfectly so it seems like it’s part of a sentence

My daughter has one that sounds like a pterodactyl, and we end up laughing a lot together. She also sounds like the dogs and birds around our house.

I love the I GOT RICE it’s the best tic I’ve ever heard
Thank you for sharing! I feel similarly about my disabilities. I do a lot of silly things because of my autism and ADHD.

She flipped. Us. Off.
It’s funnier now that I know the reason behind the tic, basically a tic mocking her ex 😭
