Let's face it folks.. the Ryker offers substantial "bang for the buck" and I think anyone that owns one will attest to that. The one area I think the Ryker falls a bit short is comfort. It's probably not the bike you'd pick if your original intent was to embark upon long touring rides with your Can-Am Spyder buddies... well that was until now!
Introducing our custom seat solution from the guys over at Ultimate Seats. If you're unfamiliar with Ultimate, these guys have been in the seat game for years. Ultimate is the brand we run on all our shop bikes, like our F3s, F3 Limited, RT Limited and now are Can-Am Rykers. In our opinion, this seat is what's been missing to bring the comfort level of the Ryker up to the level of its older and "more expensive" brethren.
Base Pan
The base pan is the foundation of any seat. The stock seat uses a flexible foam, while the Ultimate Seat uses an Injection molded foam reinforced fiberglass base, so that the seat base doesn’t flex under spirited riding.
Memory Foam
The seat cushion itself is injection molded from high density memory foam, which allows the seat to not only maintain its original shape, but also acts as a suspension system while riding. Once you sit on the seat, the foam provides both support and comfort making for the perfect ride. Then once you finish your ride the seat restores back to its original state, creating the perfect balance of both form and function.
Material
Each seat is hand stitched to order and made with premium Marine Grade Vinyl. We have different vinyl color options available at SlingMods.com allowing you to order seats that perfectly compliment the color scheme of your Ryker.
Seating Position
The seats are available in two different options in regards to your distance from the handlebars. The first is the "Reduced Reach" option. This seat option will move you 2" inches closer to the bars and is perfect for those of you with shorter arms and legs that feel that the factory seating position is too far back. The second is the mid rider seat option which keeps your seating position exactly the same as stock. Now regardless of what seating position is best for you, all of the seats are designed with a nose up angle and are cupped side to side, so that you sit in the seat, not on it.
Back Support
If you’ve ridden your Ryker for any respectable amount of time, you’ll know that lower back support is an absolute must, which is why we have both an optional matching Driver and Passenger backrest. While the passenger backrest is a fixed position backrest. The driver backrest allows for more than 2 inches of horizontal adjustment as well as a pivoting angle that allows you to fine tune the back support pad where you want it.
Now, when it’s time for your passenger to mount or dismount the Ryker, the driver backrest folds down and out of the way allowing them to swing a leg over for easy mounting and dismounting, and can be completely removed if necessary with the quick release feature. The driver backrest also features a passenger protection pad so that under hard deceleration your passenger’s private parts are protected with some cushion. It’s all in the details folks. And lastly the driver backrest includes a storage pocket so that your passenger can store small trinkets such as chapstick and sun tan lotion.
Safety
Now we know that the Ryker handles well and depending on your particular riding style, it's not uncommon for a passenger to feel uneasy especially under spirited riding. So each seat features integrated left and right side grab handles to bring some piece of mind for your passenger on that next weekend ride.

So I just bought this seat last month and took about 2 almost 3 weeks to arrive and I love it. It is very comfortable and well built. However I wanted to warn everyone that this unfortunately doesn't come with passenger foot rest and I have not been able to find one as of May 12, 2022. After contacting the sling mods they confirmed that they don't know of any 3rd party sellers for passenger foot rest. However I still don't regret buying this seat in the sense that it is perfect quality, comfort and design but useless if you want a passenger without the rear foot rest as my wife is to short for her legs to reach the frame. I definitely feel like this is something I wish I knew before hand. I would have stuck with my regular seat for the time being until a 3rd party seller or Sling mods could partner with someone to make a footrest for passengers. Also I got the seat with the reach that is 2 inches closer and I don't feel like I need a backrest when riding. I added the 3 Piece luggage and you can save that $200 for a rear backrest because the trunk act as such.
Hello Venus, yeah that's been something we've been working on for quite some time. We do have passenger foot pegs in the works but the tooling was extremely expensive so they're gonna be pretty spendy when they come out, but that is something that we're working on.
This seat could also be a game changer for Ryker sells. Ultimate Seats are great seats.

@@dabo1971 Yeah.. we've also noticed that BRP dealers are wanting to make you purchase a rear seat to get the passenger foot pegs.. which is crazy. So we're working on our own passenger foot pegs.

I would agree with that statement. The seat is also unbelievably more comfortable than the stock setup.
Love my seat but I went to get my Ryker Rally yearly inspection and was told that I had to have foot pegs in order for it to pass inspection so it was suggested that I put the original seat back on to get it inspected. That’s a lot of work but I love my seat I do a lot of touring.

Sometimes you gotta be short enough to make it under the bridge lol. As someone who dailies a ryker and works at a Power Sports Dealership, if people are looking for comfort and luxury, I try to sell them on the Spyder, as it has cruise control, heated grips and more storage options. Where as the ryker is a more performance oriented machine, trading comfort for response and predictability.
The ryker is a motorcycle made to conquer the road. It can be ridden in snow, rain, heat, sleet, or anything in between.
There nothing wrong with adding the ultimate seat, it just make riding the ryker more fun on longer trips..
I noticed a picture of the seat with a driver back rest and the top case for the passenger backrest. Can that top case be ordered separately from the three piece system? Looks really beautiful.
Hello John, the 3-piece luggage system for the Ryker is only sold as a set of 3 at this time. You could remove the saddlebags if you wanted when not needed.. but they would come with the set. Thank you!

I have an unusal sitsuation on my hands. My wife is crippled due to cancer treatments but we still ride a lot. I went to HD Tri Glides a few years ago since the cancer in her brain was causing seizures, We thought if she had a seizure on a two wheeled motocycle it might cause an accident, injuring us and possible others, so we went to a trike. I test drove a couple of Can AM Spyders but didn't care for them. But last Christmas we bought our son a Can Am Ryker. He had a stroke five years ago which left his left side crippled and he can no longer operate a hand clutch or a foot shifter. The Ryker is a perfect match for him.
I drove the Ryker home 100 miles in the evening in the rain and 52 degree (F) and loved it. The Ryker handles so much better than my HD and in my opinion better than a Spyder or a Gold WIng trike. My next motorcycle will be a Ryker if I can find a seat my wife can get on. You see her left side is also crippled and she has very little strength or control of her left leg which makes it very difficult for her to get from the driver's seat up to the passenger seat. I had our seat cut down about an inch and one half on the passenger part to make it a little easier, but she still has trouble.
I am thinking about a Ryker, and I'd hate to pay the awful price for one of these seat, but I will if I think it will work for her. My biggest question is how much higher is the passenger seat than the drive's seat? Roughly how many inches higher. This will give me the information I need to see if it will work for us.
I will also be purchasing a windshield and the three piece luggage from Slingmods.com. This will make my new Ryker complete. I never use the GPS, radio or blue tooth on the HD, so I don't need them. If I did I'd just buy a cell phone mount for the handle bars and mount my phone there which is even better because I can watch the weather and radar on my phone.

Hello Gene, I understand. The Driver seat drops down 4 1/2" from the passenger seat on the Ultimate Seat for the Ryker. I would also suggest our Jockey Shifter to illuminate the difficulty of shifting from forward / reverse when parking. I've linked both items below for you. I like how they look and the reviews seem to like it also. My question is can I order the ultimate seat but have the back rests for both the driver and passenger be a different color? I'd like the red stripped seats but would like just the all black backrests. Is this possible, because it would fit into my color scheme.

They're not cheap.. but they transform the Ryker into something you can actually ride without back pain.
Is there a way to lock down the drivers back rest that no one can simply pull it off and walk away?
Unfortunately not, as that's intended to be a convenience for the owner of the bike. If you're running our 3-Piece Luggage.. you could always stash your driver backrest in there and lock the case if that's a concern.

i know the top box has a pad for passenger. can it be removed to use the custom backrest instead?
Not without altering the top case. I suppose you could try and mount the custom passenger backrest pad from Ultimate seats to the top case.. but I have not tried that and cannot endorse that.
I was wondering on how do I put on my stock ryker seat
There are foam tabs on the bottom of the stock Ryker seat that need to be put back into the slots into the seat frame below it.

Hello Leroy, we haven't tried this seat with the factory saddlebag from BRP. It is compatible with our 3-Piece Luggage System though.

Aren't the foot pegs on your Ryker separate from the passenger seat? They are on my Ryker....

It's far more comfortable then anything we've tested so far including the Can-Am comfort seats. These seats are padded with a few inches of memory foam that contour to your body. The passenger pegs are not part of the seat. If your Ryker did not come with passenger foot pegs.. these are available directly through Can-Am.
Can the SE Performance Bolt-On Adjustable Rear Luggage Rack for the Can-Am Ryker be used with this seat?
Yes, both of those will work on the same Ryker.

What's the weight capacity for the back seat
Hello, this seat uses the factory BRP Max Mount as its support system for weight. If you plan on riding with a passenger, I'd highly recommend upgrading your rear shock to one of our ELKA shocks, so that you can specify your passenger weight. We'll then build the rear shock specifically to your passenger weight so that your bike rides as it should even with a passenger on board. Hello Telika, there will be a redemption field at checkout to allow you to redeem accumulated points from previous orders. In regards to the Shad bag.. I don't actually have one here at the shop to verify.. but after watching the installation video online it appears that it would be compatible with this seat.. but I cannot say with absolute certainty until I test fit this myself.

Does the comfort seat come off the same way as the poem seat?
Hello DPerry, we do not have the comfort seats on our bikes.. but after watching a few other youtube videos it looks as though the BRP "comfort" seat has clips on the bottom instead of foam tabs. Those clips will need to be depressed from under the max mount to release the "comfort" seat from the Ryker. Hope this helps!

Yes it works with the passenger footpegs. Our bike didn't come with them.. so that's why they're not in the video.

@@owenskevi Hello Kevin, correct. The passenger foot pegs are an OE piece directly from BRP. The Ultimate seats are an aftermarket seat available from us. If you're Ryker did not come equipped with the passenger foot rests.. you'd need to grab those directly from BRP so that your passenger has foot rests. Hope this helps. Thanks!
Why not the tall rider option like their other seats?
There wouldn't be enough room for a passenger with the "tall boy" seat option.
@@Slingmods Thanks for the reply. Then, how about a really nice extended solo seat sized like the OEM one, except with the nice trim touches like the two up? The Ultimate seat is the one that I love, I just need the extra room.
@@thefrugalundertaker6512 Yeah I here that. I'll put the word out on this.. but I don't believe that such a thing is in the works at this time. The mold costs are around 20k for a new seat design... but I'll let the MFG know of this for future reference. My guess is that they'll want to recoup their investment on the current design before introducing another. Thank you for the feedback though.

Would the tail end be able to support the weight of luggage plus a passenger?
@@M1KeYMAC Hello Michael, if you're planning on running both a rear passenger and the 3-piece luggage I'd highly recommend upgrading your Rear shock to one of our Elka options. Our Elka shocks let you specify the passenger weight so that the suspension is tuned for your exact weight setup. So weird question. Have any of these seats been tested with children? I'd love to take my kids on short rides around the lake. I have been looking for some recommendations.
Hello, we've only tested these with adults.. but they have nice powder coated grab handles on each side of the seat.

I'm replacing the seats of my Ryker because the cats chewed it up. I'm probably going to get this seat as a replacement. I also have the 3 piece luggage system installed and the cats chewed up the passenger backrest to the luggage system too. Can I order a replacement backrest for my 3 piece luggage system?

Very expensive if you want to add the backrest
Hello Andres.. it does add up if you start adding the backrests.. but if comfort is at the top of your list, this seat is an excellent choice. I was actually unable to ride the Ryker for more than an hour without lower back pain with the stock seats. I can now ride for hours and hours without issue. It completely transformed the bike for me. Pair it with the Commander Floorboards, Stereo System, Windshield and Pedal Commander.. you have an amazing machine that Tours and Rips the Canyons for a fraction of the price of its older brethren.
How much is the cost of the Can-Am Ryker Custom Aftermarket Seats. I think the new Aftermarket Seats looks great on the Ryker.

Hello Tostik, this video actually shows you how to install the seat as well. The installation for this seat is only 1 bolt and then another bolt if you opt for the passenger backrest option. Can a local mechanic put this seat on.im looking to purchase a a can am ryker.the reason is its automatic transmission. So I'm looking for a good passenger seat for my wife.or do I go to a can am dealer.she would feel safe on the seat.so we can take road trips.
Hello Scott, sure.. your local dealer can install this for you. The seat installs with a single bolt, so the labor charge should be minimal if you take it to the dealer for installation. Thx for watching!

Where’s the foot pegs for the passenger supposed to mount?
Hey Don, they'll mount in the same OE location as normal. The seats do not obstruct the OE passenger foot peg mounting location. Thank you!
