Bought this set used. Guy I bought it from said 4hr installation. Your video made simple work out of overcomplicated written directions. Install time, less than two hours and that is partially because I wanted the wires run a certain way that would make it easy to take the bags on and off as I travel a lot and would like to use them as luggage. Thanks for the excellent video!
Because of you guys I am going to have to break down and buy a Ryker Rally. I really wasn't going to get one as they are to bare bones. But with all these mods... I gotta have one!
These seem really awesome. The only thing is that while it's nice to have the locks on the compartments, they do not lock to the bike. With a push of that button, anyone can come take it & open it later at home.
Hello, when the bags are "locked" the quick release button will not work, so that your luggage can't be stolen. The bags must be unlocked with the key to use the "quick release feature".
I have them and love them. Only one thing to be aware of-if you ride two-up the support bar(approx 1" square shape) that is under the top case will bottom out and hit the fender of 900 Ryker. I have to look at getting an Elka to keep it from bottoming out. I have a video about it. :-)

This is what I need cause a driver hit me from behind at a stop light at night and my wife took most of the force of the hit luckily it was the high back rest but I believe needs more back light to be seen at night. When I get my bike back I'm going to get this when you guys get more in stock they look alot safer for passengers as well.
The video was helpful but missed some key points like the bracket the saddle bags attach to, the little rubber bumpers that are a booger to get on and the rest of the wiring, decent helpful video and every Ryker ryder needs these.
And we went ahead and mounted a large Shad expandable top case to the Max-Mount on our Ryker and a Shad removable side case a few months ago thinking we solved the storage issue. Ugh
I second this, been waiting for a one piece top kit that is lockable that works with the max mount. This fits the bill but don't need the extra saddle bags.
Yeah this looks pretty sweet. I assume to take a bag with you, you also have to undo the wires everytime? That's kind of a downer.. still pretty cool though
Yes.. you would. There is one quick release wiring clip per saddlebag and two quick release wiring clips for the top case. We weren't originally gonna have LED illumination for that reason.. but we felt that the safety factor of Running, Brake & Turn Signal integration outweighed the inconvenience of having to unplug the wiring for bag removal.
@@Slingmods I completely agree with you and that the safety factor far outweighs the annoyance of removing wires. I wonder if on a future iteration something could be engineered so the when the bag is put in place it makes contact automatically. I'm no engineer but seems possible. I do love this kit! I know you will sell tons of them. Love the videos and all the cool Ryker stuff you guys have!

In anticipation of my set arriving, I keep watching this over and over. I think I have a problem. One question. You are shown running a wire along the swing arm, but don't show where to zip tie it. Can you elaborate?
Hello Midlife.. that's funny. In regards to the harness, you'll run the new wire harness down the swing arm & frame with the existing harness to the pivot point of the swing arm. There's a harness already there, so I zip tied them together. Just make sure you leave a little slack in the harness to allow for the articulation of the swingarm's suspension travel.
@@danmorris2860 it doesn’t plug into anything up front, it just runs along the swing arm, then back towards the fender you removed and to the mounts for bags.

Fair enough, but I hope you folks will consider making a mount that could do this. I think a whole lot of Ryker riders never carry a passenger and moving the top case ahead will still look good, probably handle better too. Or maybe offer a mount that we could clip a Shad or Givi top case on where the passenger seat is would be nice. Thanks.

It may be best to contact your BRP dealer with that inquiry to see if that's necessary, as they'll have more information on that topic.

Hello Scott, this system was purpose built for use with a passenger. You'd don't have to use the top case as a backrest for your passenger if you don't want to.. but it cannot slide forward over the passenger seat if that's what you're thinkin'.
Will the saddle bags fit/work with the LinQ Cooler / Thermal Box? I like the Idea of the extra saddle bag, but prefer the cooler since I carry waters and lunch for long rides.

So they are lockable. But also come off pretty easy. So what's there to stop someone from just disconnecting the entire thing and walking away with it?
If you plan on removing your bags at every stop... yeah it would get annoying. The intent with those quick disconnects were for those that need to remove the bags for a hotel room or something. For daily riding the bags are locked in place with the key and can be left on the bike if desired.
What’s to stop someone from stealing the cases? They have no locking mechanism to the frame. Also, you will have to disconnect the wires every time you do remove the cases. Seems to me that would need to be resolved before I’ll spend $900 bucks for these.
Hello Tom, when you lock the case with the key, the bag locks to the luggage rack. You will indeed need to unplug these if you plan on removing. That can be a deal breaker for some.

So they are lockable. But also come off pretty easy. So what's there to stop someone from just disconnecting the entire thing and walking away with it?
When you lock the bag with the key, it also locks to the luggage bag to the rack itself.

Where do you hook the front of the wiring harness to? It never explains that in the video.
The harness zip ties to the factory harness down the swing arm. Make sure you're wiring is free and clear from any moving suspension components.
make one with just the two saddle bags
The removable option seems almost pointless if you don't have a decent quick disconnect system tho.
If you plan on removing your bags at every stop... yeah it would get annoying. The intent with those quick disconnects were for those that need to remove the bags for a hotel room or something. For daily riding the bags are locked in place with the key and can be left on the bike if desired.
What’s to stop someone from stealing the cases? They have no locking mechanism to the frame. Also, you will have to disconnect the wires every time you do remove the cases. Seems to me that would need to be resolved before I’ll spend $900 bucks for these.
Hello Tom, when you lock the case with the key, the bag locks to the luggage rack. You will indeed need to unplug these if you plan on removing. That can be a deal breaker for some.

At the 4:30 minute mark you ran the wiring harness toward the front of the Ryker but you did not show what it connected to. Could you explain where it connects to please? Thanks

Can a passenger ride with the 3 pieces of luggage?

Can I install this and use the upgraded comfort seat for passenger/driver?

after pull the rear mud flap out, there is a gap between sits. road debris will splash over your back. how to fix it!

How do these cases secure to the bike, via clip and quick release with, or without a lock to keep them from being stolen
Hello Denver, when the bags are "locked" the quick release button will not work, so that your luggage can't be stolen. The bags must be unlocked with the key to use the "quick release feature".

Does the lock prevent the cases from being removed? Locking them doesn’t do any good if someone can walk up and just remove them.

What if we’ve already installed the Max-Mount, saddlebag mount and have a Shad saddlebag installed. Is our saddlebag mount and saddlebag compatible? Would we have to ditch the bag and saddlebag mount to install the mount(s) in this kit and use these bags?
Hello Ryan, this system is intended for Ryker owners without a current luggage solution and would not be compatible with the Shad saddlebag setup.

Hello Jose, we have not tried the factory vertical back support from BRP with this setup. How far past the back of the passenger seat cushion does it extend?

Not for this 3-piece kit.. but we actually just completed our Shad bag prototype. It will only be a top case though and utilize the SH47 case along with a custom rack to mount to the Ryker, as well as a passenger backrest pad and removable storage bag liner. Thanks!
Are the glossy panels on the side bags removable for painting?
Hello Paul, yes they are. There is 6 screws holding on the glossy plastic panel on each saddlebag. You can remove those to paint. Great question!
