- Not just a marble battle, but the entire war.
Armies travel randomly across the map, engaging in combat if they meet. Once conquered, towns will produce more fighters for the player. Whenever the army goes to the home city or a friendly town, it will reinforce itself with fighters.
Fighters gain experience by scoring kills. If a fighter gains enough experience it will level up, gaining perks like additional hit points, speed and/or equipment.
Destroy all the enemy kings and armies to win!

Changes in this version:
- "Nope" mechanic now has a chance to be ignored, allowing armies to attempt attacks regardless of size.
- If a player no longer has a home city, units from towns now have a chance to flee.
- Health rebalanced to scale more linearly (lower level heroes are buffed, higher level heroes are nerfed)
- Spearman gets a shield again at higher levels
- Hammerman now gets a funky hat at higher levels
- New unit: Bandit King
- A bandit army will periodically spawn. It can attack cities and towns.

Honestly the crusade 'upgrade' constantly ruins whoever it picks because the cities left behind are horribly undefended right as a huge army barrels down upon them. It shoul be addressed somehow. for example, could have it so that if the king is alive, the city isnt destroyed and therefore reconquerable (and program the crusade AI to return to city asap if it is taken behind them)
yha but there is still the fact that the king leaves and can get himself killed cripling the rest of the army.
Technically a castle without a king is stronger than one with a king, since if there's no king you need to rout the defending army whereas if there's a king you just need to kill the king and his army auto-routs. It might be a bit less likely to kill the team that gets it if the king left an heir behind when he left though.

irrelevant, look at the effect in he last several videos every time there's a crusade. In all but maybe one case, it ends up with the city being attacked by a huge stack and losing cause there's like 4-10 defenders and the crusading army is 90 strong. Losing the city locks away a lot of the upgrades, it just slows down the faction death.@@DotsHero
Maybe if the capital is taken while a king is crusading, all units head to the capital to take it back - if successful, maybe an heir can be appointed to king?

Helpful advice: To fix the Crusade part, the king should have a chance to be able to take over a Kingdom, that way the king can have two or more castles to hop around with during crusades. If one kingdom is destroyed then they should be able to raid and rebuild from scratch or conquer more capital land to call their own. As for how the towns will behave they will just send troops towards the castle that the king is currently in or closest. Let them colonize the capitals!!!
Also I love the wandering bandit army, keep them! Tho if they do take over a Capital Kingdom, they should also have a chance to become a new color. Would be fun to see a huge gray army raid a Kingdom and become pink or purple etc. We need more players once in a while🤭
Also have you considered a new Unique Unit? I would definitely love to see a javelin hoplite as a unique class. Behaves like archers were they throw spears, and when the enemy gets close they switch to knife/spear and shield close quarters combat. They are obviously rare so could make it a special unit of "5 Javalin Warriors join the army" More love to unique warriors!
Would also love to see a healer/saint that uses a wand to smack allies and heals them equivalent to a sword damage, as for enemies they take half damage from the saint as they need to defend themselves. Maybe have a "Protect me" command. Mages exist why can't a saint🥺
A perk I would like to see is one where the king "declares the gates closed" which stops the kingdom from being invaded until the next perk. Just a cute idea in an attempt to buy time, especially if the king is out on a crusade and they get this knowing their kingdom is safe a little more.
And also a "Viva la resistance" takes a random 'town' on the map and forces them to be bandits again since we are getting more bandit love lately🥺 would be fun as historically there was many resistances from armies and villages alike.

even though it's literally impossible for grey to win. Grey cannot take out two kingdoms at once for one not to be able to be crowned the winner, nor can they attack enemy cities.

Dude was outnumbered 40 to 1 and yet he killed 25 of them before finally dying

My favourite moment was the lone green soldier arriving at the enemy castle after his king had gone on a suicide run and already managed to escape

this is probably one of the few marble sieges where unnamed units have gotten leaderboard positions, and it was on an episode where the leaderboard was halved
I'd like to see a simulation of all the past great heroes going at it in one massive battle royale!
I genuinely think this would be an amazing autobattler, just with actual selection of army composition and such.
maybe once a captain bandit reaches level 2 or so, then it turns into a bandit king and then can move? i really love the idea of it being a very rare, not designed around possibility that bandits can win, but because its still technically possible itll be so sweet when it happens (plus, the more leveled up a group of bandits are could be a realllll nice way to introducing tiered upgrades just sayin)
another thing: what if kings got a tiny bit of xp from their units kills when theyre on a crusade? thatd be a way to balance it so crusades arent just a downside

with the king idea there'd probably have to be a bit of balancing so that if for example the king's army has 100 marbles in it going against some other army with maybe 90 marbles in it then the king would get less xp than if it was like a 20 vs 25

Orange had a great start. But for some reason it's captain got stuck inside the castle for 10 minutes, losing all its early advantage.
Man if this were a game I would buy the heck out of it. Just for the chance to play out more scenarios and see what wild stuff happens

For the gray team (I like to call them bandits), you should give the bigger gray dudes the 'chieftain' rank, much like how each army has a 'captain'.
That orange warrior, he will be REMEMBERED in our minds, He lost a king, AND KEPT FIGHTING! HE KEPT FIGHTING WHEN HE WAS 1 OF 2 ORANGES LEFT!

I just want to say thank you for giving us so many awesome stories. I like that so many comments give suggestions, but sometimes it seems a little mean.
I like to think the mean comments are because of how invested people can get, similar to playing something like dota. The difference between expectations and outcome, and wanting their colour to win and feeling that some bad event should be removed because it happened to their colour.
Bad luck for Blue to lose their captain right out the gate.
The big bandit army is really intimidating, they have numbers and a dangerous boss. I love that, but i think defeating that bandit army should have better upgrades from the ones who defeat them

I think if a king attacks a city in a crusade, they should capture it rather than kill it that way if by chance they lose their own city they can take another one and still be in

I wish the mages had better aim. For being a rare unit to get, it really feels like 90% of the time they're actively facing away from anywhere the enemies might be. This is especially shown with Green's mage, who I'm at least 60% sure is on some kind of drug, facing into the corner or actively trying to shoot their king.
Crusades should be removed and replaced by the bonus "revive all named marbles"

"Okay. *revives named marbles (including the ones that would have gotten names) from both the current and past episodes for all teams, leading to massive duels between of the super high level characters*"

This like some kind of parable the land once occupied many great kingdoms and yet due to greed and hubris all of the kingdoms are in ruin and what does the winner have in the end? Just a few scattered villages and a bandit problem.
And Ragnarok. Can’t forget about the Ragnarok Event that occurs every century or two.
(I like to imagine Ragnarok is what “resets the game,” so to speak.)

Something in the NOPE algorithm is seriously broken. Marbles are charging 1 v 20 into kings. Or literally fighting guys they NOPEd 2 seconds ago.
I introduced a bit of additional randomness into it precisely to allow these types of moments

@@pavelherinek9048 i think some randomness is a good idea just a bit less than there is currently so a situation like 18:25 doesnt happen but a situation like 18:10 still can happen

Can someone explain why soldiers with hammers are better than standard ones with swords? I just didn't notice much difference
More HP and damage, but there do probably need a bit of buff/rebalancing
the only thing crusades do is send out a large quantity of unleveled marbles that just get stomped out leaving the weak king to die. kings should either spawn with higher levels, level faster differently, or at least be given a bigger sword.
I really want to see some sort of free for all tournament between the different unit types, if only just to see what high level goodies unit types who haven't been legendary ubits in the kingdoms series yet get.
Suggestions:
- some sort of Galactic Conquest map like StarWarsBattlefront and HellDivers so that each video Is actually connected to each other in a never ending war history

What if you gave one kill's worth of exp to every soldier after a battle won? That way it would not only prioritize kills but also surviving, plus it would make sense that a soldier would gain more experience from simply being on the battlefield more.
Tried it a long time ago, it tends to make deathballs even more OP, nothing can stop them then. Currently the balance at least allows for high level heroes to somewhat fight against hordes

I love the fact that you included the "late game invasion" (sorta) as requested!
However, I have a few new suggestions:
1.: If a kingom loses their city, make it so that whence they take another city they are going to conquer it instead of destroying it. That way they still have more of a chance to win.
2.: Kingdoms without a city still should absolutely be able to get an extra army, it would improve their chances of survival greatly, perhaps it is they who need it the most in fact.
3.: Please, bring back the "getting a 100 peasants" upgrade! That was so hilarious. Perhaps have 2 kinds of crusade: The popular one (with lots of peasants conscripted for it, as it was done for historical crusades irl) and the knightly one (which is the regaular one, the one we saw in action here as well, it adds a couple of knights to the crusading army.) One other funny thing you could do with the peasants is to have an event which causes a peasant revolution to spawn (as a neutral army of around 100 peasants and a few other units), it would be very similar to the bandit army you added now, but still have a different flavour, a bit of variation doesn't hurt.
Also: Perhaps you could have a few randomly assigned "character traits" given to heroes and commanders, kings, bandit captains, etc.
They would essentially affect how they behave.
You could have the following:
Reckless: Ignores the "Nope Mechanic" entirely.
Cautious: If the odds are (strongly) against his/ her army then employs the "Nope mechanic".
Cowardly: Only fights battles when the odds strongly favour his/ her army.
Or something similar, could be refined more, of course.
Hope you like these suggestions!
for point 2 i think they should still need an outpost/village but other than that i agree
with the traits it could maybe be done based of the way they've fought for example if you had some unit which almost always finishes fights with next to no health left then it could maybe have the trait undying where it can block one fatal blow and ignore all damage for maybe 1.5 seconds because otherwise a character might get a trait which just really doesnt fit with them

oh and if a wandering band off bandits hit a other encampment would be intresting if it was a roll to se if that jarl joins them or not
