- Out of all the Night Elves' starting hero, it's a known fact that PotM is by far the weakest. But what if that wasn't true? Let's start the day by going off the beaten track, and give the High Priestess a chance!

That ranger silence on your starfall was such a hype kill
I watched the whole video waiting for the starfall and he didn't use the invincibility potion.

@@nerdstark9002 You can't use invulnerability while starfalling. If you use the potion beforehand, starfall cancels the invulnerability. You can, however, use anti-magic potion beforehand, which he did. But anti-magic potion is dispellable by destro's devour magic, which is what the opponent did before silencing the PotM

This came close -- only had non-bow units near the end.

Remember when Tyrande killed an entire small undead army on her own in that bridge? And then later, she hold herself with just a few warriors to command against waves and waves of undead until Illidan rescued her?

PotM + archers was actually quite common back in the day, not an unusual strat for me
Her armies are only Archers, Huntresses and hippos.

Sometimes you just gotta go with a low ELO tactic, the meta only works if the opponent also follows it. Anti-meta always comes out of left field
I used to play this style all the time in ROC, loved it and glad to see it still performs decently in modern WC3/TFT
Potm pretty much useful in team games. She is suck in 1v1 since it is either win Early or lost after 30mins.
@@saimyintmyat9373 I feel like the developers didn't design her well. The main issue is searing arrow. Immolate on DH does essentially the same damage but is AoE (though needs to be in melee range). You actually get a lot more damage from immolate than you do searing arrow, and immolate isn't a good spell.

Back in 2004-2008 I would win so many games with POTM and mass archers with eclipse. It was crazy, fun and daring.o

That silence on a Starfall almost scares me...
potm + archers is basically autowin in 3v3. Every archer is going to be shooting for 40 dmg at full upgrades, at just 2 food space and at a high rate of fire, AND they have superior range. It's also super easy to get the potm to lvl 5 in 3v3. The immense amount of damage is nearly uncomparable, even by AOE heroes. I would not be surprised if a potm+archer army dealt over double the DPS of any other ranged army. They absolutely massacre even the big melee.

As a kid I played almost only 4v4 and POTM was by far my favorite hero to see get to lvl 6 back then. Awesome game! :) gg!

PotM ain't as bad as people think, but it requires different tactics to work. Please get more of her!

Against UD there was popular strat with DR skele farming + PotM aura + archs + talons, fast T2 AoW+whisps rush, very successful back in the days
Speaking as an amateur - I have always found PoM a viable hero in a mass huntress/Hyppoarcher build (via trueshot aura). She is a nice low maintenance hero that you can just right click searing arrows and forget about (apart from micro movements as standard). Plus Starfall feels great if you get that far.
Against UD though?

I honestly don’t even understand the intricacies of how each race is different.
Surely all races all feel the affects of archer arrows the same?

@@samwize28 I wasn't sure what you meant by amateur, sorry. I would think even at lower levels the nuking spells of the UD heroes + skeletons would just rip through archers.
@@BachelorChowFlavour archers are very squishy I take your point. One nova and one deathcoil and that’s two dead in a blink of an eye
Trueshot aura +30% ranged damage, it can hurt with great amounts of small units. In a way you can calculate it as having +1/3 army for free.

Believe it or not, I would do this same strategy and add a 2nd tavern, often ranged, hero.
I'd get archer / hunt upgrades quickly with an expansion and with trueshot having ridiculous damage, often volleying one row of attacks to kill secondary heroes
This cheese strategy got me mid-level 30s (almost 40) back in the day in the Azeroth realm! Good days...
I always thought POTM was a good rushing hero while teching to giants and dryad and tower in their base. Always kinda worked well for me. Warden was always the tricky one but was always my favorite

the starfall was hard countered but oh well... i guess grubs just slapped hard enough for the win, i didn't even notice the dark ranger died xd
N1 Grubby, next time I will be happy about this army - > Alchemist + mass archer with some talons + some bear to block and buff 😊 (for full dmg second hero Potm)
Funny potm story - when wc3 first game out and you could thumbs down as many maps as you want, my friend would play RT and thumbs down every map except crucible. He would get potm and creep the lvl 10 dragon with mass archers as fast as possible then just attack the enemy with like 20 lvl 3 trueshot archers and starfall and completely catch people off guard. He got rank 1 doing this same strat every single game.

what hero would you go second with this?
I'd do Naga for a proper glass army
I like to go keeper.
POM plus archers/huntresses for tier 1
Keeper plus druids/driads for tier 2
I don't get a 3rd as I struggle enough with micro as it is with two haha
Grubby to run this strategy you need 2 AOW, mass archers, rush level 2 and spearhead all upgrades for the archers. Once you reach 2/2, 3/3, and range upgrade it's madness. You also need boots of speed for POTM and eclipses to hide archers.

So confusing, how did ranger's silence, literally an active ability, got through while anti-magic pot was active? Then what's the point of having it at all? 😅
AM pot effect was devoured by the destroyer making it possible for DR to silence PoTM, opponent was so fast on it

Her entire kits are only usable in Team games and FFA. 😂 Except Searing arrow which is only dps for her.
Grubby manages to win even with the worst or 2nd worst hero in the game.

@@sengurren No, Dread Lird fast expand is a legitimate strategy, and Dread Lord 3rd is also somewhat mainstream (or at least used to be -- seems to have fallen out of favor to recently).

u should made arch before 2eme moon :D compensate this by aw moving and start creep :D then x2 double shop / cancel +2whisp +the whisp wwith with who u scoot is a free donation :'( u make a lot of mistake / 22/30 no continuation bet on whisp, lost 3 of them free . take of arrow vs creep, tbh ur lost with ur follow t2 t3 , 2nd hero, u dont know what to do . little tips +15% glove its the best item for potom w/o orb x) u never ever want to sell this . lost 15% dps flat in one hero game -_- when pot was 5.6 u should add 2nd hero vs dk 3 lich 2 :D . should be 3aw + 2 hunterhall upgrade / shedder . macro not on point tbh
