ToD picked up some new builds from the Stay At Home Story Cup from 24/25 April, and we are struggling more than before. Here's the 5 ladder games we played on 27 April!
Would be cool to see Grubby at ToD's Townhall-meeting one time. ToD gets salty in the game, but when you hear him talk about Grubby (while casting with back2warcraft for example), he is respecful and appreciates Grubby's gameplay.
Well, burrows should not have that much of atack damage, they give good shelter and are defensiv structures as well, pretty much stupid. Either they don't give shelter or don't give damage at all.
would also like to hear grubbys view on the current state of the game (also balance) and the scene. While tod is salty i think you need some guys like him and if the games are over, he seems like a nice person. Hes a good caster when he needs to be professional, he seems to really care about the scene. i like what he does with his town hall series. but i think some things happened between those two nobody of us know, so heres hoping someday it still will happen.
I enjoy actually seeing you to be a fair player and not getting salty against your enemies even something goes wrong and leads to defeat. Not many players can get over that so balanced. Gl for your next games an keep bringing glory to the horde!
I appreciate the fact that you post your losses as well as your wins. In replay videos, it's easy to only post your wins to make yourself look better than you are, but often times you learn more from losses than wins.
Yes, like you know him nearly as well as he knows Grubby. I don't agree with Tod that being polite is being fake. But I can imagine Grubby isn't always the incredibly lovely front he puts up in streams. ToD thinks that Grubby types GL HF bc his fans would not like it if he didn't. ToD thinks that it's beneath oneself for a top player to start play multiple races bc it pleases the audience. I disagree, but those aren't points devoided of merits either. If you see his discussion on his Town Hall or his jokes with his pals when commenting, there's a culture of cheerful roasting and being "funny dicks" I can relate to (I had that in my circles too) and I can get why he may not be overly excited at the "let's all be cheerful and impassioned all the time".

He constantly complains about balancing in the game. Grubby types "gl hf" because it's an unwritten rule in sportsmanship in wc3 circles. I don't think this defines good sportsmanship. However, ToaD's inability to congratulate his opponent for winning ("gg"), and his inability to own his mistakes, prove he's a petulant man-child who should be ridiculed. - "I lost because speed scrolls are too op". - "I lost because grubby plays rat style (or in other words, he's kiting him, suggesting kiting amounts to playing dirty)". - "I lost because grubby is fake". As for his chat, I saw some of them sniping Grubby during their matches. This of course, doesn't reflect on ToaD himself, however, but it's fairly obvious his toxic behavior creates this. He's like the Jose Mourinho of wc3. Please. Stop defending this arrogant little boy who desperately needs to learn a lesson in humility. And no one is asking him to be "cheerful and impassioned all the time". We're asking him to grow up.

Pretty funny if you've seen the game between him and Grubby where he said it too. I think he was trying to be casual about it but it seemed to me the salt still seeped thru
The salt. I wish ToD would just be a better sport, and do a "gl hf" at the beginning of the game. It may be a rhetorical thing to say that, but it just shows sportsmanship, and that you are showing respect to your opponent, by wishing them good luck. That is not being fake. It just means that you can acknowledge the skill of your opponent, before you lower your visor. ToD played well, but he would have been so much further ahead if he didn't suicide his MK every time, without an INVUL potion on hand, or at least swap the TP portal from the archmage to the MK - kind of hard though with the war stomp and chain lightning, though.... maybe cast invis on the MK, when surrounded?
I personally dont consider typing GL HF, or GG and the end being so important. It is not 'official rule' to do that. Grubby does that, but plenty of other players dont. The reason why Grubbys followers are mocking ToD is becouse of his childish behaviour (not being objective, narcissism lack of humility. Had he shown a bit of that, nobody would mind not typing fuckin GG or whatever during games. But It is ToDs foult that this kind of 'Rivalry 'situation escalated. It is simply becouse of his inability to accept his loses. and simply say: ok I lost , I made some mistakes , I should learn from them, lets move ahead.
Those are two of the top level players. Historically they've always been a close match, with Grubby doing a bit better than ToD but not always. Keep in mind ToD is the 2nd all time best western player behind Grubby... but before Happy. (which is arguably bc balance was broken against UD for so long).
i keep seeing casual plebs here keep flaming Tod for his general behavior. And I'm like, who cares, lol? People tend to forget that these players are highly invested and competitive. I understand that Grubby has this general positive attitude that everyone loves, but that is not the only way to exist. Now I don't mean to bash Grubby or praise Tod here, I'm just glad to see competetion and ambition at its best. People who hate Tod gotto remind themselves that he's one of the few people that are still trying to play this game at top level still in 2020. I honestly wouldn't want to see a pro scene without ppl like Tod in it. Salt is just another flavor. =)
People are naturally attracted to positivity and enthusiasm. It's contagious. People also thrive off negativity and that can also be contagious. Meaning negative people will always be surrounded by negativity and vice versa. Peolle are wired to interact with each of these players as they do because of these traits of human behavior.
TOD just wants to be you Grubby... Don't take it personally. Honestly though, I do worry about him. It's easier to be happy rather than mad, angry or sad :P
It's so unreal to see, how ToD was good, solid, unyielding, precise in first, two matches. I even had some respect for him because of that. But then, in all later games, it look like he was cramped, relaxed or maybe burned out and straight lost 3 game, one after another, without any real, good effort. Or maybe it's just Grubby got better in time. Either both. Anyway GGs.
He's hard on himself with mistakes that he thinks he knows better than to make. Anyone who tries their best can have this happen or they take mistakes on grace and reflect on it. You'll naturally have the first happen and in order to turn it into a graceful reflection is a skill that a person has to develop. At least that's what I've noticed as someone who had this issue and resolved it. Always a struggle though at times
Wouldnt you get more time by hitting the creeps and waiting just before they actually attack to stun them? They have to do their getting up aimation and wind up animation so a stun would extend that time before their actual attack. Stunning them right away bypasses the getting up animation time and wind up. At least that's what we used to do in dota.
I've noticed that while Grubby does a good job of killing critters out on the map because of his 'luck' with them blocking his units and gettingthem killed, he OFTEN ignores them in his main/expansion, and I always wonder how many are mechanicals in these games.
ToD dispatches you handily in those first two games. If it wasn’t for the fact he’s an insufferable turd of a person, I’d probably sing his praises and celebrate his victories. A shame, really.

Would BM and SS be better against sanctum? Obviously you'll need to choose your heroes before he chooses his units, but knowing ToD if he plays sanctum once he'll always play sanctum.
You know things are going to get messy when the TC reachs lvl 5. Damn, like he was losing all the fights TIL TC goes like "ups, level 5!" and the first inmediate rush after that... He wins. Orcs are so OP after the initial minutes.

I think Tod was not that salty with the "Why so fake" thing. It was a mind game. It was to put Grubby a little off. I think it worked a little, but the instant mute and the fact that Grubby ignored the insult must have put ToD a bit off too (maybe even a little more than Grubby was off). So it turned against him. At least that how i saw it.
Forreal though. Is Grubby preparing for a competition or something? Or does he not play other races anymore, because Reforged only allows him to have 1 account and therefore playing other races will screw up his stats
In my mind when i played warcraft 3 ladder many years ago. I was as pro as grubby in the first 12 seconds - Orc burrow/ Altar - Peon / Barracks - After that - i'm me and noob again hahahha
now take a look at tc stomp with huge aoe that just dismantles humans casters and rifles. Under scroll of speed and lightning shield it strikes harder than coilnova or bm's crits
@@mpwrdmpwrd TC stomp is also mitigated by spell immune stuff like spellbreaker, so forming a wall to prevent him getting into the backline is already enough. Then, there's the fact he has to run face first into the right spot, meaning you can always body block and sacrifice just 1 unit. It's a good ability that's BALANCED.
take a look at grubby's games against humans - its pretty rare thing to see a wall of breakers preventing tc to stomp rifles and casters. Breakers dont make such damage to typical orcs tc-fs-shaman-grunt as rifles do, they are slower, way harder to focusdamage and human almost never goes massbreakers against orc as he does against human. Slow by sourceress is better, scroll of speed counters it though
Stomp is broken af the only way to actually block is to have breakers ready and in the exact fuckin line you want which isnt the case most of the times. It needs a cd buff

Hey guys I just played my first few matches of 3v3/4v4 games in wc3 and I take back everything good that i've said about the community. Everyone was absolutely horrible. I might as well be back in the year 2000 playing call of duty with how they acted. Guess i'll only play customs with friends or 1v1s from now on. Hey I have a noob question lol, why grubby doesnt upgrade the last spell of shamans? Is it because it takes to much mana or it's a question of timing / gold cost?
I believe it’s cause ToD’s spellbreakers could steal Shamans’ bloodlust, so it would have just given an advantage to ToD.

I think Tod was not that salty with the "Why so fake" thing. It was a mind game. It was to put Grubby a little off. I think it worked a little, but the instant mute and the fact that Grubby ignored the insult must have put ToD a bit off too (maybe even a little more than Grubby was off). So it turned against him. At least that how i saw it.
Forreal though. Is Grubby preparing for a competition or something?
Or does he not play other races anymore, because Reforged only allows him to have 1 account and therefore playing other races will screw up his stats

now take a look at tc stomp with huge aoe that just dismantles humans casters and rifles. Under scroll of speed and lightning shield it strikes harder than coilnova or bm's crits
@@mpwrdmpwrd TC stomp is also mitigated by spell immune stuff like spellbreaker, so forming a wall to prevent him getting into the backline is already enough.
Then, there's the fact he has to run face first into the right spot, meaning you can always body block and sacrifice just 1 unit.
It's a good ability that's BALANCED.
take a look at grubby's games against humans - its pretty rare thing to see a wall of breakers preventing tc to stomp rifles and casters. Breakers dont make such damage to typical orcs tc-fs-shaman-grunt as rifles do, they are slower, way harder to focusdamage and human almost never goes massbreakers against orc as he does against human. Slow by sourceress is better, scroll of speed counters it though
Stomp is broken af the only way to actually block is to have breakers ready and in the exact fuckin line you want which isnt the case most of the times. It needs a cd buff

Hey guys I just played my first few matches of 3v3/4v4 games in wc3 and I take back everything good that i've said about the community. Everyone was absolutely horrible. I might as well be back in the year 2000 playing call of duty with how they acted. Guess i'll only play customs with friends or 1v1s from now on. Has anyone else had any positive experiences in teams?
