For those who are wondering. There are USB type C to Type A converters, but make sure you use their cable with the adapter. The reason why they usually launch it with these cables is because if you have e the port, for sure you have the USB 3 version that can hold the bandwidth. Plugging in the camera in an non USB 3 port will result in either the camera not having enough power, or not having enough bandwidth to send the image (remember you're sending power + 70 8megapixel images PER SECOND thought a cable). Since it works with UVC, you should be bale to have multiple of them at the same time, not clear if the camera hub software will support multiple cameras though

Face Cam Pro focus just bugged out and we can't even use the most up to date Camera Hub with the most up to date product. Blinking Red LED, Focus refuses to work now properly after randomly doing a room tour by swiveling the camera on the mount.
Question, just received this and the camera is stuck on initializing video engine, however it is detected with windows 11 device manager and also works in my OBS without an issue. What would be causing this? 2nd quesiton, can you point me to a cable that is 15FT-20FT ? I tried a 3.1 (10GB) 15 foot cable and the camera isn't detected at all in windows and doesn't work with obs, only when using the original cable with obs.

For the cable, 5Gbps and 10Gbps USB cables do have some form of maximum length before the signal can degrade. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to capture the video as setup in Camera Hub. The Elgato software isn't compatible with this camera, and OBS doesn't correspond to the setup in Camera Hub. I am completely perplexed. Anyone have any ideas? I'm making social media videos to be edited and synced to audio and NOT just streaming (which I also can't figure out)/.

@@elcangry855 20Ft is beyond the recommended max length for USB 3.0 5Gbps connections. Cables providing that speed over that length become very expensive. 3 Meters is considered the maximum recommended length due to the bandwidth required. We'd suggest trying to run Facecam Pro with MJPEG or H264 in your software. This significantly reduces the bandwidth required over USB. If you're on an AMD X570 motherboard, those have well documented USB Dropout problems for many products, not just ours. Hi Buccaneer, Have you been in talks with our support team for a replacement cable? Facecam Pro ships with a USB Type-C to Type-C 5Gbps cable. It isn't proprietary and you can use Facecam Pro with other cables as long as they support 5Gbps speeds. We include a C to C cable as not all standard USB Type-A (rectangular) 3.0 ports supply enough power for Facecam Pro to run at full 4K60, but Type-C ports do.

Would you at ELGato consider gifting this to me? I’m a content creator who’s wheelchair user and this is the camera I’ve always wanted to exist because physically setting up a camera besides a webcam is difficult.

You don't need any special stand for Facecam or Facecam Pro when using it on your monitor. The mount that comes with the camera is all you need.

I have the same problem with camera hub. I had to downgrade to a previous version. (3 versions back from the current one) … it works there.
Can you connect it to a USB C hub (that then connects with my MacBook)?
This should work fine as long as the Hub can provide enough power.

Does it really need a 3.0 port
Yes. Since Facecam Pro is sending a huge amount of data for 4K60, USB 2.0 will not be up to the task.
