This used to be me. I was looking to my own shortcomings (sins) instead of looking to Christ. People kept telling me to look to Jesus but I did not know how. But God is mighty to save. I went through years of despair. I had anxiety and depression but God was faithful. I was ready to walk away from God - but he would not let me. For years I thought I was saved but had the feeling that something was missing. The moment I looked to Christ and realized that there is nothing I can contribute to my salvation things changed.
"Nothing in my hands I bring, simply to the cross I cling ...".
A few months ago I felt how I was slipping back into doubt and despair. I cried out to God not to let me go down that route again. He heard my cry and caused me to look to him. Glory be to God!!!
Thank you so much for this. I've been feeling distant recently then this video came up. It's not about our feelings. It's not subjective, it's objective. Thank you Tim, I'll Be Honest and thank you Lord Jesus.

Undoubtedly, this person is in a dangerous place, but what they need is a wise person to take them under their wing and give them scriptural direction to a spiritual prescription. Not just a diagnosis, but a healing solution. And who better to consult than Jesus, the great physician?
He is battling with 'sin';
and this is confusing him.
-Christians seem to get this idea that when we become a Christian, everything is 'great'.
-When they struggle with, and battle with the 'personal' issues of sin in their own life;
then Satan trys to 'confuse' and 'deceive' them.
God gives to us the 'answer'.
-Before, we did Not struggle with sin because we were slaves to sin.
-Sin is enmity with God.
-We NOW have God's Spirit abiding within us.
In Romans God reveals to us of the 'war' that rages on within us because of our 'sin' nature.
-This is something that we must deal with.
-It is not always going to be easy. And many times we will 'fail'.
-This does Not mean that we are 'unsaved' or 'lost' our salvation.

In John Bunyan’s book “Grace Abounding to the Chief of Sinners,” John went through those ups and downs of resting and being fearful. I think it is a good book to read, especially with someone going through these kind of struggles.
This is me. This is me. I fell away years ago by slipping back into sin back then... I came across Hebrews 6 on my own though... and it made me spiral off a cliff eventually. So no... you don't throw that in their face... it makes us feel hopeless... and question more... wonder "how do I know there isn't no more sacrifice left for me???? I've been trying the best I know how!" If we didn't struggle with repenting with certain root issues, we wouldn't lament and struggle to begin with. So that first person who answered about Hebrews 6, well.... from experience, it made me throw myself off the cliff... and I talked with over 8 pastors.... and I gave up.... idk why this message came up now... but it hurts reliving this failure. So if you meet someone like this, don't help throw them off the cliff... we don't have itching ears... most of us want to know what do we do NOW. Where is there to go??
Fellow brother please first let me encourage you, you are not alone. Hebrews 6 seems like it's the end if you "fall away". But remember how Paul encourages the church to restore the immoral brother... there's so much encouragement that all hope is not lost.
Now the real issue. How do you stop sinning? It's a battle in YOUR MIND. Satan and your flesh try to control all your thoughts. Only by reading the word of God can you recognize and STOP the thoughts that are unfruitful. Be transformed by the renewing of your mind, and put off the old man and put on the new. Fruit of the flesh and fruit of the Spirit.
Consider scripture with the idea that the battle is in your head. NO JOKE. I was totally defeated until i learned this.
Now when I recognize a bad thought or temptation, I simply rebuke that thought in the name of JESUS. And it flees from my mind. If you think this does not work. Consider Jesus when the tempter came. How did Jesus defeat satan... for it is written! Use the truth to defeat the lie! Until you learn scripture, call on the name of Jesus in that moment and Jesus will defeat satan for you! God bless.

I feel this guy who emailed 100%… but what Tim said regarding wanting to take part in the salvation experience stood out. For me repentance and faith does feel like works. Simply because those things are necessities for salvation. I grew up in the church, got baptized when I was 8 and it was pretty much easy believism most of my life. Got into bad sin in college and then came back to the Word of God for myself in 2020 but looking back, it’s really only puffed my head up with knowledge about God instead of knowing God. Although I was really enjoying the body of Christ (the church) now i feel fake and condemned. All of the sins I eradicated were just cleaning my ye outside of the cup while the heart remained filthy. Now I’m unsure if I was ever saved and my heart is hardened to godly sorrowful repentance and saving faith. I don’t feel God at all. I’m in desperate need of help and don’t know what to do.
Read scripture and call out to the Lord for assurance. Stay in the word. I need that reminder as well!

Well said.My weakness scotch on the rocks,an Ashton cigar and some action,horses, cards.If I want God's peace I need to stay away from those vices.If we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive our sins.And we are to do it boldly.We need to keep on keeping on, if we want his peace we need to stay right.

Just a thought... I fought with this very thing. On and off for YEARS.. Not one pastor or preacher had taught me about the battle in YOUR MIND as stated in Ephesians. The reason you fall away is because the devil comes and you have no idea how to defend yourself. Those "thoughts" he was having were from satan and the flesh. Satan knows what sin you like of course he hits you harder then, when you fall satan sends thoughts of despair and failure into YOUR MIND. How about you teach these people to repent first! Then.. when the temptations come, that they come in your MIND as thoughts and you need to "Submit to God, resist the devil and he will flee from you!".. Consider how Jesus defeated the tempter in the wilderness, USE Holy Scripture. For it is written! For it is written!For it is written!...
Please teach God's people this! It should be teaching number 2 after salvation!!! The devil is coming, this is how you defend yourself. This is how you stand in the power of GOD'S might. In the name of JESUS, I rebuke that nasty thought! That lie from satan! If you are truly born again, watch how FAST that thought or sin urge will FLEE from your mind.. I pray this helps any who struggle with thoughts in the mind.

The issue of "feeling saved" is something that Satan can use to deceive people.

This is really good,I had often felt like this young man. I was deceived into thinking I was saved when I believe I had a fase conversion. I was caught up in believing the whole prophecy concept of relying more on people telling me what "the Lord is saying" instead of relying on his written word. I had all these rules and regulations and trying to be good. I had sin that I was not dealing with and found myself isolated and by the the time I began to receive warnings about the enemy lying to me I could barely receive it because I was so used to people prophesying to me. I had a full on demonic attack. It was pretty bad. I am finaly able to see that I had unconfessed sin and things I was hiding becuase of shame and my own judgement. I was blind and did not even realize it. You think you are "ok" with God but I now see the enemy was attacking my mind the whole time and I did not realize it. Always using fear as a tactic. I used to think certain thoughts were my own when they weren't. I had often felt like I ng have disappointed God with my foolish actions and thinking somehow I am ok becuase of all the things I was told I woulddo for God. I can look back and see that I was not believing God but trusting in what He could do for me rather than in what I can do for him.

To anyone reading this who is struggling with sexual sin and alcohol in their walk:
If you know the Lord and you feel like you have or are falling away, if you've tried every pastors advice and every trick people have tried to tell you about but nothing seems to be working, don't lose heart and hear what I am about to tell you;
There has not been enough teaching or preaching on the fruits of the Spirit! It has not found it's rightful place at the head of Christian doctrines of sanctification.
The beautiful Holy Spirit is the only way by which a man maybe sanctified and His fruit is the fruit that must be born inside of you!
If you are struggling with sexual sin, alcoholism and drug addiction you need to bear the fruit of faithfulness.
Do not struggle against symptoms, spend all your prayer time asking for the fruit of faithfulness!
Dedicate all your time seeking this fruit, do not stop until it is born inside of you
Faithfulness will destroy a multitude of sins and break their hold over you!
This is the power of the blood! HIS Spirit doing HIS work!

You have to acknowledge the spiritual warfare aspect as well. It sounds like he needs some prayer of deliverance. Jesus said in Matthew 12:43-45 that once an unclean spirit leaves and is allowed to come back (through sin) it comes back with 7 other spirits and the condition of the man is worst than the first!
I know when I fell back into sin before I wanted to repent but I felt a demonic urge in me pulling/influencing me to go back. I got deliverance through prayer and it was easier for me to repent and return to God.
The brother also has to be strong against the temptations as well otherwise he gonna keep falling
Pastor Tim we need to ask this brother a question. The question is do you want to be delivered? If he does he needs to repent. Draw near to God and he will draw near to you. He needs to turn away from the sinful life style.

You are not Saved until you are Obeying Jesus commandments. You keep seeking until you get there. Reading the bible greatly confused me. I eventually threw it aside. I focused on the Gospel of Matthew chapters 5 6 7. Daily as much as I needed too. There is so much meat there and to examine your life as you study. It is the complete plan of Salvation. It was the most successful way for me. And I finally feel..really Saved.

kathleen Wharton, you don't need to do good works to "feel saved". We are saved by grace through faith. Knowing you are saved is knowing that FACT, after you put your trust in Jesus. Yes, we must bear fruit after we're saved, but that just a follow-up of our salvation, it's not TO get saved. I hope the Lord will open your eyes. Believe me when I say that you will not feel freedom, when your entire hope of salvation is placed in what you do, and not in Jesus Christ and His death to forgive your sins, so your righteousness afterwards can mean something. God help you.

Your questioning another brothers salvation by the works of the flesh when this person has been bought with a price and has not been able to overcome his sins,
I find when people cant believe in forgiveness and salvation in Jesus Christ they are not founded that God loved them first. So they judge others and judge themselves based on judgment of the law and not the grace of God that is a unmerited gift by faith in Jesus Christ alone. It is not that we love God, but that He loved us first. We get ahead of this by trying to earn God's love; instead of accepting His love first. So we do not forgive because we remain with judgment in our hearts towards others and ourselves. If we have hope in Jesus and remain with hope, the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit. Forgive and you will be forgiven. Judge not that you be not judged. Have mercy and God will have mercy. Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, pray for them that despitefully use you. Continue ye, in my love. Continue in my grace. Love one another as i have loved you. Forgive as Jesus has forgiven you. Do you believe in Jesus? We miss the true love of God because we are still governed to the law as salvation. Why? Because we are not founded in Jesus Christ Alone. There is no other way. Believe in Jesus, if a man doubts he should expect nothing from the Lord according to James 1. To doubt is to not believe, I do not care what the circumstances are. The greatest sin to commit is unbelief in Jesus. Believe in the power of the Holy Spirit. You are sealed with His Holy Spirit and it is not a feeling but the truth of the Word of God if you believe in your heart and confess with your mouth unto salvation, you will be saved. Believe the Word of God and not your weaknesses. Accept the gift of salvation relying on Jesus Christ and you will be saved.
I don't know how to truly turn away from my sins... God shows them to me but I don't understand how to just give them away to Jesus. I pray that Jesus remove this to me knowing He will change me, I am concerned about His word but is it being saved ? Doesn't sound like it is in your mouth idk

I understand totally. I'm not even sure what I'm doing wrong.
I used to struggle so much with sin too, really wanted to stop but didn't have the power to. One day I remember crying out to God to really give me the grace to overcome - God's word says that we are no longer slaves of sins, but how come it didn't seem so in my life? How come I felt so much bondage from sin? Until when God opened my eyes and showed me that all these are to be received by faith. All God's promises are received by faith. How do you do this? Simply believing God's word. God's word is truth. Reality is not what we see, but what God says. As long as you are a child of God, you have victory over sin. From your life it might look that you're still under bondage, but believe what God says, that you have victory over sin! That is how I overcame. The next day onwards, each time I have a temptation, I strengthen myself saying that I am no longer a slave, Christ Jesus has set me free....and surely, it goes away. Meditate on God's promises always, and receive them by faith!
For example, you say you don't know how to give Jesus your problems. But what does Jesus say, Matt 11:28-30 (Come unto me ye who labor and are heavy laden...and I will give you rest...). How do you come to Jesus? By faith. Believing when we pray in His name, God hears us. How so we receive this promise? By faith as well. Knowing THAT God fulfills His Word.
Pray for understanding, that the Lord will open your eyes to really the simplicity of faith :)

Wow!!! I believe in Jesus Christ. My faith is in His blood and I'm fully persuaded that since God said He would justify me by faith He has done so. I have peace with God. Justification is a free gift and wholly without works of any kind. If a man is unsure whether or not he is saved, I would say he is not saved. See Romans 4. Realize that the Church of God in Corinth was SAVED standing in Paul's Gospel. Look at their works. Tim Conway doesn't rightly divide the Word of Truth.
That's what he says at the end. Look to Christ, and you're saved. Around 29:45.
The Christian life is a daily walk, a daily battle, and Satan doesn't let up on us until we die. After I asked Jesus to save me, it wasn't long before I realized I had a battle on my hands. I have failed many, many of those battles. Some Christians take a lot longer to grow than others. The Bible says there will be people in heaven who will lose their reward but still be saved. We still have to "choose this day who you will serve" even when we become believers. We don't decide to follow Christ one day and that's good for an automatic every day commitment. I assumed that when I was saved it would be easy to live the Christian life, but like I said I soon discovered that it's a daily decision to follow and hell fights against you. We are capable of sinning and when Satan can convince us that our own works determine our salvation, and that we obviously fall short, we forget that it is Christ who saves us and not ourselves and we will doubt our own salvation.
We walk by faith not by feelings if you rely on a Feeling for your assurance you're doomed LOL at least when it comes to the feeling letting you know you're assured we are still in this old body you will not wake up happy go lucky everyday not going to happen lol

He will be overcome by the love of God if He repents and turns from it. Believe in Jesus. To doubt or use scripture to doubt is to not believe in Jesus.
Why can’t we use the Old Testament. The New Testament lived out. Look at some of the saints of old not perfect.
I pray for the people who come to you for advice. You could have told him that if he believed on the name of Jesus he didn't have to worry about feeling like he wasn't saved. The enemy tries to use that with everybody. Second Jesus gives life eternal not life temporary. And you're a minister?
Someone need to get Born again to get saved

Ask yourself: Does it help you run the race with endurance? Hebrews 12 comnands us to lay aside every weight and sin that clings closely that we may run the race with endurance. The race meaning the Christian life. It could be a weight or it could be a sin.
Pastor Tim , do you have the spirit of God in you ? I’m not making out that you don’t , I’m just asking as there are other professing Christian’s who claim the Holy Spirit is in them , and they do not agree with you , and they have , like you , bible verses to back what they believe in regarding the faith. As a new believer , who isn’t even sure if he’s a believer bevasue he’s never been more confused in his life , what do you say to me when I ask , “which one of you is telling the truth if you both have the spirit of truth in you and yet both don’t agree “?? Others accuse you of heresy! Why are they wrong ? To the one that worketh not but believes in the one who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited as righteousness. What does the “Gospel demand” when the gospel is that Christ , died and God rose him from the dead??
+Christina Dimidenko..You do not know of my experience. When God Gives you a "Job" experience..Nothing Works. Believe me..I have tried everything..Saved by Grace..Keeping the commandments..doctors, medications, diets, Everything! For the last 26 years..I have been in Hell with pain and misery. My husband divorced me..my children turned against me. The only thing that has worked is the "Mercy Prayer" which will back up the spells of physical misery from unbearable to bearable. I am saved in soul (that is not the problem) I want to be saved from this physical misery that has no apparent physical cause. In my situation No one has an answer. Jesus is The Only One Who can Heal me and I am trying to be patient until He Does. Your advice may work for another person..but is not the answer for me. Everyone has been a false prophet for me.
Kick in the rear end. Discipleship and obedience to the teachings of Jesus will lead him back to Jesus. That is the answer. Most people will instead look for some sort of miracle from God. That will never happen. He needs to be a disciple again. An obedient disciple. That is the ONLY answer.
Unsaved people dont ever worry if they're saved, the person is saved he has not grown but hes still saved, i would lead him to the promises of God, and he is 100%

Every single sermin with this pastor is doom and gloom and fear, no learning and spiritual growth, by the way he preaches hes going to be the only one going to HEAVEN
