      FordFanJim - Obviously not, and I said they probably deserve way more recognition than they get, WITHIN the realm of motorsport. However, I maintain that calling them world class athletes is a stretch to put it mildly. Usain Bolt, Lewis Hamilton, Michael Phelps, Jason Day, Lionel Messi, Novak Djokovic, Chris Froome. These people are what defines world class athletes, and surely you agree that being in "top shape" as you put it, does not make pit-crew members on par with those guys?

  • @cmoore185
    @cmoore185 8 лет назад +10

    The Ricky Rudd stop killed a Bill Elliott pit crew member. How can that not be the worst? The only good thing about the stop is that it single handedly made nascar instigate a pit road speed limit. As much as it hurts our favorite drivers sometimes, it has made good pit stops more important and has definitely saved lives.

    • @quachimba
      @quachimba 8 лет назад +1

      +C moore it is the worst. and to help with maintaining a speed limit they should allow speedometers.

    • @cmoore185
      @cmoore185 8 лет назад

      The only problem with that is speedometers are not accurate. They all run the same gear and are taken down pit road at the correct speed. They know what the revs are so actually it is more accurate than a speedo. I think what they need to do is quit having sections that are individually timed. They then give them 5 mph leeway. I say make the who thing a speed trap, just like a school zone and give zero leeway. You speed, you are busted. Period.

    • @quachimba
      @quachimba 8 лет назад

      Sorry I should correct my self you are correct. I really meant to say pit speed limiters. Those are more accurate than even humans trying to match rev's

      F1 crews have over 20 crew members performing pit stops, don't have to change more than 1 tire per tire changer, and don't have refueling anymore. An F1 stop can get to 2.2 seconds though which is extremely impressive.

    • @quachimba
      @quachimba 8 лет назад +1

      +CallMeEsteban agreed. I think nascar has the money to get bigger pit crews though. I've seen the changes for what they have in NASCAR those guys do amazing no doubt. It's just i don't know if it is the rules or not but if not they should get many more people in the pitcrew because to me they are as important as the driver and engineer and they can make or break a race

      Dat-Mudkip haha what a response!
      I have respect for you because of your response,.
      Still though, I will stand by my (possibly incorrect) reasoning that the fatal clip could be described as both a fail and a tragedy because the driver failed to not lose control and hit someone.
      And to answer your question ("And why are we bringing up WWII?"): I was just trying to think of an example the other way around and that's what came to mind.
      By the way, I agree that Germany was over-punished at the end of World War I (mostly by France right?), but for some reason I didn't put two and two together to realize that over-punishment may have been Chamberlain's reason for his lack of action.
      Anyways, have a good day "random internet user."

      Monica Hankins NASCAR and F1 are different. F1 is more precise and have a lot of computer assists. Now in NASCAR the cars have no power steering, barely any brakes,

      I suggest looking up a video named something like "NASCAR'S GREATEST SAVES" by someone with the name King Kyle Busch. There is plenty of drifting in that video, ever see a Nascar tandem drift? Well, you will if you watch that.

It's not the same as driving your moms mini van in an oval, it's a lot of pressure, and it takes a lot of practice, and I don't understand why people go onto NASCAR videos to say "omg dis is so boring DX" Just go watch football or something...
