    Pro tip... place your microphone away from your mouth to reduce plosives when you're talking. You can move it to the tip of your chin and point the diaphragm toward your mouth almost like a 90 degree to the flow of energy coming out of your mouth.

    If I load a sample to the Microgranny. Does it send the same chops to the keys every time? Or will they vary if I "reload" the sample? Any sensitivity settings for (chop) starting points?

      What's up José!!!! Thanks for reaching out! It'll be the same every time.

    Yo dds, nice vid. Just started researching the mg2 here. I noticed towards the end u were able to pitch the sample w the keys. Quick demo w a synth lead? Maybe loaded via sd card? Ive been rmshopping samplers for like 2 days. This might be the winner.

      What's up man!!! Thanks for reaching out!!!! You can pitch the samples with the keys! It's a very good quick and dirty 8bit sampler for sure!!!! Not to mention it does granular synthesis as well!!!!

    Hi can I ask a question please about the sequenced part at 2 45?
    You can record that with the arturia without a laptop or pc?ty

      @@TheDaydreamSound hey thank you for the reply.I been using my MG for awhile just stand alone with nothing plugged into it.
      This looks cool should work good thanks for the help.

    In your video, when you pressed a series of Keystep keys the samples began playing back at the same point and continued playing until you pressed another key. Therefore, the Microgranny doesn't divide the sample into different slices with different content. I'd take down a video from RUclips if I were misleading people, unintentional or not.

    • @TheDaydreamSound

      What's up Neil. Thanks for reaching out! Which part of the video are you referring to? If you can indicate a time that would be much appreciated. The MG2 is definitely playing back the drum sample at completely different start points. Now if you're referring to the part of the video where I'm discussing the tuning mode feature of the MG2 at 4:12 that is stated pretty clearly.

      @@TheDaydreamSound After listenning closely to the samples triggered by your "fishing around" at the beginning of the video, I now appreciate that slices with different content (because of different start points) can be heard. Therefore, I should be the one who takes down their video! Apologies for wasting your time.

    You did a video on what is a sampler, and I am trying to understand the difference between a sampler vs a synth. If you can explain as only you can that would help. Thanks for sharing

    If I understand, you are using the microgranny as a stompbox effect for the synth here? With midi câble? 😃

    • @TheDaydreamSound
      @TheDaydreamSound  4 года назад +1

      What's up!!!! Thanks for reaching out!!! Not quite. All sounds are coming from the Micro granny. The keyboard is just a midi controller.

    Great!
    How to import decent quality samples??

    • @kwamebrandt-pierce1607
      @kwamebrandt-pierce1607 Год назад +1

      You can't. MicroGranny sample rate is 22050hz, which is half of the standard 44.1hz (CD quality). It also has a bit depth of 8 (when recording samples) or 16 (when importing samples via SD card). This means some of the highs will be cut and there will be a little crunchiness (distortion) especially when recording at 8 bit depth. This is all part of the sound of the MicroGranny; it's got a lo-fi vibe. If you're looking for higher quality samples in a portable hardware format you're better off getting something like a Roland SP 404, but this is more of a sampler than a granular synth like the MicroGranny. If you're looking for a similar granular approach as the MicroGranny in hardware form, but with higher quality samples, try something like the Tasty Chips GR-1, or modules such as the Qubit Nebulae, or Pulse Synthesizers Lode Runner. These options however, are far more expensive.
      Another option is iOS granular apps such as Tardigrade or granular computer apps.
      Hope this helps!

      What's up! You can load samples on to it's micro SD card. As long as they're 8 or 16 bit 22050Hz samples, the MG will play them.

    Just got a keystep after a year owning a MG (the blue one), can’t figure out how to correctly sequence sounds like you do, the samples only sound for a moment and don’t “hold” even tho the hold button is on in the MG :/ any idea of what I am doing wrong?

    Hi. This isn’t really chopping is it? In the slicing way. It’s a single sample per slot and you can leave it on loop. It allows you to play chromatically not to chop one sample into multiple slices across the keys.
