  • What a day. For the first time in this enthralling Louis Vuitton 37th America’s Cup, every single team was out training, with five AC75’s in Barcelona taking advantage of outstanding ‘Garbi’ conditions once again whilst in Auckland, the Defenders continued their early-winter training block in the AC40s as their AC75 ‘Taihoro’ continues it oceanic passage to join the most wonderful spectacle of sailing in the world today.

Hate to say it but Alingi looks kinda ugly with her forward bustle and he severe pod chop while luna rossa is stunning sooo fast sooo sleek so professional, the brit boat is looking surprisingly fast the yankees look boring but quick Taihoro still enroute

Two things I’ve noticed: the AC75 is a lot heavier than the AC40, and two, the AC75 is a fair bit faster than the AC40.

    Britannia cammina...Occhio agli inglesi!

Sono d'accordo! Anche America's Magic Cammina....! Speriamo solo che abbiano osato un po' troppo e le loro barche siano meno gestibili oppure che siano meno performanti in manovra...
Speriamo anche che Luna abbia qualche asso nascosto....

Are there any fix practice testing course and arrange by AC team before the event in the future? Look bit dangerous with those speed when there are others external individual fooling or boat in the course

That wing foiler didn't seem to care about being close to a fast 75-foot racing yacht with huge foils in training. Not smart.

Those Ac40s can hold there own against the 75s.

They're very agile and make quick maneuvers but the AC75 overtakes them with relative ease in a straight line providing there's sufficient breeze to develop power. I often wondered what an 'AC100' would be like and figured the difference we see between the 40 and 75, would be similar between a 75 and 100-footer. Faster on the straights and more ungainly when tacking/gybing.

@@RodNZl-Esports 100-footers are my favorite size yacht. The Ultim trimarans, super-maxis and J-class are all around that length. I seriously doubt we will ever see a 100 ft version of the AC75. It would be atrociously expensive and too challenging to foil.

American magic appears vulnerable to basic component faults, whilst Ineos appears to be growing stronger with better crewing control and confidence in their boat

    • @jamesaron1967

INEOS has a good handle on their boat now and it shows great potential once it is dialed in. AM are much lower on their learning curve. They need more time to fine-tune their design package and gain experience with the boat's idiosyncrasies, but I think they have great potential as well.

I feel mens watch fashion is fun to follow. With the fall off from Tag and Hublot, the rise in popularity of Richard Mille and Zenith and the boring status quo from Rolex. Ultimately i feel that Tudor onboard with Redbull Alingi with some cool new designs are poised to come up in the fashion stakes. I do like Omega with the kiwis also.
