@SEVAGARM The song was written by Sonny Bono and released in 1966. Sonny wrote all the S&C songs, and many/most of the songs for her solo career soon after their split.
Terry Reid and B.B. King opened for the Stones first American gig in three years in Fort Collins, CO. in Nov 1969. Yes, this show was prior to all the others, including the Garden or Altamont. It was my very first rock show. I was 15 and crashed the show, guaranteeing a seat by picking up an errant ticket stub. It was fabulous!!! I was never the same . . .
Terry was in great form @ the studio on april 6, 2009. He had the audience in his hand and gave them his heart. I 'm hoping someone has a video of TERRY REID @ THE STUDIO NYC, 4/6/09... the band was a special one: Ed Rainey from the Cosmic American Derelicts Band on guitar/ slide Tony Cimorosi NS upright Tony Beard Drums Benny Harris Keys Terry and the band had a great connection ... Hope to see some on RUclips soon.
Ello m8 - I have that film also - great to see your into Terry! I cant get enough of early Reid - I've met him a couple of times now when he's toured UK (Norwich) - Such a genuine bloke! 2007 acoustic gig at the playhouse Norwich was fantastic!
I know absolutely that Robert Plant is Epically gifted, with cozmically sonic abiliites(at one time more so,thats a given) a brilliant musician and my favorite singer-hands down!..that being said, i've never heard much of this guy, just started listioning to this ole stuff and man,I think maybe they share some of the same DNA! I've never heard two guys sing so identically! still I think Fate made the right choice with Robert at Zeppelins helm..but mr.Reid is Absolutely in the same league-so good!
Scanning my channel - this is the most valid statement I've read in a long time and sorry for taking 12 years to respond. Two different roads I guess - But surely ....... all the same passion - Terry was really stiffled by the Mickey Most contract - So were most musicians back then - Donovan could have been something else - Thank god Jeff Beck got away from him RIP.
I think this is fantastic - the best version I have ever heard! I just love the way he sings the very last bang bang lines - Great power!
I remember going out and buying Bang Bang You're Terry Reid on LP and Loved it from beginning to end.

Every time he sings this it sounds different. Of course. Trust Terry to do a cover better than the original.
Defo the best of the covers..... Weller runs it close though.
