    Thank you, your video shows it best where the chain space is, which is RIGHT where I knew it should be, but seemed wrong! Thanks you!

    The simplest and best video on this stitch. Have watched a few others but it never stuck. Thanks!

    For those asking... You put 1 single crochet into each row along the unfinished looking edges to make them look finished. If they were double crochets you would put 2 single crochets. On the already finished edges you would put 1 single crochet into each single crochet and 1 single crochet into each chain (on the very first row, your foundation chain). Put 3 single crochets into each corner to turn.

    Hello! This pattern is great! The only issue that I'm having (I'm a beginner, by the way!) is when I am done, I want to add on a border of single crochets, but I have no idea where I'm supposed to put them in as it doesn't have the traditional V shapes in a uniform manner like in other basic stitches!

    Hey Jessica! I've made the washcloth and I love the stitch!!! You mentioned doing a single crochet border to finish it off. I'm sure you know but there's 3 kinda zig zag sides and the bottom straight side where the foundation chain is. Did you skip some stitches when you single crocheted around the 3 zig zag sides? When I single crocheted around the whole thing I guess the 3 sides started ruffling and the straight side looked perfect. Yours looks great so I'm just trying to match it!!😁😊

    Is there another name for this stitch? Also I'm having such a hard time finding the chain space on the second row. Any other suggestions? Thank you so much, I just don't want to give up. It's just too beautiful. I'm just so frustrated

    • @mamainastitch
      @mamainastitch  7 лет назад +1

      Hi Mary - I've been in your shoes many times (trying to figure out new stitches). I don't know of another name for this stitch, sorry! The easiest way that I found to look for the chain space is by looking at the opposite side and finding the two single crochets. Since there's a chain between, I know the chain is there. I try to also explain how I find it in the video. Sorry you're having such difficulty! Maybe it would help to crochet a bit looser? If you're a tight crocheter, I believe that it could be a bit more difficult. Good luck.

      Hi Lisa! Thanks for the sweet words about my channel. I'm still learning how this whole RUclips thing works! Lol! Yes, I found cotton at Wal-Mart and it was SO inexpensive. It was on clearance the day that I saw it, but even full price it would have been a good deal!

    I want to give this a go but want to make sure I understand....after completing rows 1 & 2 then I continue row 2 until it is the size I desire?
    Or do I repeat rows 1 & 2 until it is as large as I desire?
    Thank you!

    • @mamainastitch
      @mamainastitch  7 лет назад +3

      Susan Linville you're right! Simply repeat row 2 until you reach the length that you'd like. Hope this helps!

      Mary Simms you place it in the chain space for row 2 and the rest of the rows. 🙂

    Easy enough but I'm having a dickens of a time trying to find that chain space. A bit more elaboration and slow-mo would have been very helpful. I've frogged this 3x already because clearly, I'm not finding the chain space. I'll give it one more go.

  • @lauranenquist8537

    This patter is uneven. The last stich of the 3rd row leaves a substantial over hang. Directions for where the chain space is is exceptionally vague and there's no count or good visual of where to insert the hook. This tutorial waisted an hour of my time. I wouldn't consider myself a beginner.
