After 24 years of being on a competier I absolutely say the Omni Pod is hands down so much better with the G 6 cgm than the other brand I was on for years.
HI Justin I just got my omnipod and just waiting for training. Your videos are very helpful! I am excited. I will have to watch your videos on how to get the loop system as I also want to control my omnipod from my phone!
Omnipod 5 is my first pump. It definitely has done me wonders!!. I absolutely love it.The issue I have is the price😢. If I don't meet my deductible, like in the beginning of the year, it's like close to 600 a month. Blows my mind!! But I definitely would recommend this pump to anyone!!
I been on pumps for 15 years and always used tube pumps. Main disadvantage of Omnipod is you cannot change insulin without changing the whole pod. With tube pumps you can run out of insulin anytime and change the resivior. :)
I also like that if the insertion site is uncomforable, I can just move it (I have a steel cannula). The pump itself can always be moved to a different place if the pump itself is in the way.
Great point..I find if I’m out on vacation and enjoying local foods I have to carry a shot of insulin in a syringe as I’m afraid of running out of insulin in the pod. That unfortunately screws up the logarithm in the pump. I’m going back to Medtronic or another pump that has automatic bolus correction.
@@fluorescentmug8333 Omnipod can used with humalog and fiasp….most people use fiasp for its quick absorption rate causing quick response to high blood sugars
Haha your comment about the hair, "wetten it" great new word - I've always just shaved wherever I use the dash. I highly recommend the chest (2-3 inches above nipple), upper butt cheek, and front of outer thigh. Also, I actually do the front of the upper arm and that works.
Hi Justin, My daughter decides to go for a pump instead of injections, can you pls give me an advice which pump cause less problems, she wants to use tandem with wire on n she likes to take it off when she needs it, but to me I think it causes her many hassles n issues bc she has track.. at school. Thank you
I do utilize my upper leg/thighs area and my buttocks as well. I’ve tried putting the Omnipod on my back but it would always fall off and can’t reach back there to add a patch.
Hi! I live in Argentina and we do not have the Omnipod yet. However, I’m a user of Accu Chek Solo which is also a tubeless insulin pump with the exception that you change the reservoire every three or four days. The base of the pump lasts 60 days which I think it is environmentally conscious. Xox
I have been trying to get an answer to that same question. I am currently using insulin pens, long & short acting but would like to know the answer to this question before switching.
Your doctors office should be able to recommend a representative from Omnipod that’s what I did and they came to my house and set it up for me what’s the doctor has to tell you what levels of the 24 hour input that you need hope this helps
I am super duper skinny and on omnipod5. Does anyone have any tips for getting a site in the fat and not the muscle? It’s driving me crazy I cannot seem to figure it out
I mean I have the same problem, I find it fine on muscle just feels funny you get used to it within a few minutes, just would stay away the more boney parts of the body, Plus I've seen some diabetics with pecks and the put it right on them like PURE muscle, I wouldn't be to worried because it doesn't need much fat to be inserted IMPORTANT EDIT: like he said, we aren't PROFESSIONALS this is just a tip, if your REALLY worried I would ask your endo
My daughter seems to be getting a lot of weeping (brown fluid) on almost every pod now. Always the same pattern, first day is great and levels are good, second day she goes high and we notice this brown staining. Allergic to the cannula? Anyone got any ideas?
I have actually placed my dexcom on my upper to mid breasts. The only problem is that my chest sweats some and it doesn't stick the whole 10 days adding the overpatch makes it very uncomfortable. The dexcom doesn't hurt at all putting on my breasts. I haven't had the nerve to put the omniod on it yet
Hi. I've been on Omnipod 5 for 2 years now. With the Dexcom g6. I've had so many issues with the Dexcom g6. I'm wondering g how you use the g7 with the Omnipod 5. How do you do it?
Hey! Thanks for this video. I am new to the Omnipod and changing my site for the first time now. I am a petité woman really, i don't have as big area as your arms have so i am wondering if you know how much space should you have between G7 and Omnipod when you use them on your arm
I can’t figure out how to place my omnipod in enough various places in relation to my dexcom. Like when my dexcom is on the left side of my abdomen for 10 days, where all would you place yours?
I have the same problem and can't find answers!@ if my dexcom is on the arm, where do you put the pod for 10 days. I've never used my back. I worry there's not enough fat
I’ve been looking into getting an omnipod after only doing pen injections for the past 20 years. I’m nervous, but it seems way easier than starving yourself multiple times a day! Haha

Omnipod 5 is an automated system, it's the latest Omnipod pod and works with Dexcom G6, soon with the G7. I personally use DASH pods because I use a loop system called Loop.
Im always worried about having the pump on the same plane as my CGM -> If its on the back of my arm, the pod has to be somewhere on the back of my body. Do I have to abide by this rule?
Thanks for super fast reply! Very cool. I start my Omnipod 5 on Wednesday. I’m so jazzed. Just watched your iAPS vid. Can’t wait till that’s ready for prime time. Thanks for your good work.

Do u guys think it’ll fall off? An any advice on where exactly to place the pod on stomach? Any advice is appreciated and welcomed. Thank you 🙏🏼 ❤
Ok, I asked my followers on Instagram: They said the only thing you'll lose is the tube! haha Plus the ability to disconnect. Everyone who responded said they prefer Omnipod, they love not having a tube and prefer Dexcom readings! Hope this helps :)
I've used both medtronic and omni. One difference is that you can refill your medtronic reservoir. Both waste a ton of insulin; priming a length of tube or tossing the omni when the reservoir still has insulin. Not sure if medtronic has an app for your phone but back in the dark ages I had to fish out my pump and program a bolus that way. The omni controller is way more discreet. The omni attaches very quickly and you can wear it in the shower/tub/get it wet
