I believe the Via Athearn F7A is just a regular blue box unit offered in the RTR series. The cab glass windows, and porthole windows give it away as a RTR unit. Also, the Western Maryland Atlas GP40 could be paired with your Chessie System units since the Western Maryland became part of the Chessie System. They were the "WM" of the initials on Chessie System units, and it was uncommon for Western Maryland, B&O, and C&O units in original paint operating alongside Chessie System units in trains. This will give you more options when operating Chessie System trains.
The Pennsylvania locomotive color is Brunswick Green. Their red color is Tuscan red. The striping was called buff. Their freight locomotives were painted green.
ACL, now you're getting close to what I model, the Central of Georgia RR. Their tracks were joined up with the ACL. I like ACL paint scheme or livery. Nice shade of purple. Cheers from eastern TN
Dave I think you are absolutely right on the VIA Rail F7. You got taken for a ride. They switched frames on you. I have an Athearn Genisis F7, much heavier loco, 1.5 volt bulbs and knuckle couplers. The motors in Genisis loco are different that the bluebox motors, much better quality.
Nice score, especially on getting those Railbox cars with all unique numbers. Can't wait to see what's in bag 3. You need to tell us how the missus takes all this when she finds out...and she will. ;)
Awesome haul dave! I do believe that is a regular blue box in a genesis box as the headlight should be in the nose and as far as I know athearn never made a genesis via rail f unit
Re: ACL B unit. 1) I think Kadee makes couplers for the OO UK market that fit those "pull out" coupler mounts; 2) Those bogies look like they are riveted together. If so, they can be saved by drilling out the rivets to take off the cover plate to expose the wheels, then, simply tap the hole and put back together with a screw. . .but knowing you, you'll already have a plan.
I think the Athearn Via Rail F7 isn't a Genesis, based only on my observation that the light bulb lights up the cabin more than the headlight. That's what Blue Box Athearns did. But a Blue Box isn't a bad thing, as they will run reliably forever.
Hey, Dave! You are going to need a bigger house to store all these acquisitions! I convert all my Atlas Yellow Box locos to Kadee couplers. I'll send an email with my procedure and parts needed. I agree about those press-in pins. Some are a real pain to extract. Later. Also love the music during runarounds.
I Look At It This If You Come Home With Wheels Parts Rolling Stock,Engines Or Whatever it’s a Good Day But if you Just Check out The Show Till Closing It’s All Good this Is How you Start model RailRoading.Surprised Your Wife Don’t Ask You To Build Her a Layout.
Man you guys have such good train shows in Ontario. It's is true though that in general you have a bigger population and more collectors in consequence ......still though such good train shows compared to Quebec. ......or maybe I just need to go to more lmao
Hi I have an Atlas Western Maryland 3797 loco in HO here in the UK I belong to the Gosport American model railway club, it was a bargain under £40.00 with dcc it runs great I like your videos
25:07 There is no way that Via F-unit is a Genesis! There's no extra detail parts like grab irons, number boards, see-through vents along the longhood, or, like you mentioned, no headlight. I think it's definitely a bluebox playing a sneaky trick!

Excellent info, thanks.
Bag 2 and another nice haul of stuff.
When Collecting Rolling Stock Everything Rocks one Way Or Another.
9:38 - It the brake air line. Common to have on high end rolling stock. Most us pretend the Kadee trip pin is the brake line. Nice haul!
I can't wait to watch another bag reveal!
Uploading now. Live at 9am
Great second bag haul Dave from the Woodstock show..
love the growing collection.....
oh oh Conrail

Another great collection Dave.
Happy modelling 👍
Nice haul Dave, I love the Western Maryland!
I like the sun reflecting off your mountains there on the layout looks realistic
Yes, I do like the sun streaming in. Only happens mid morning for an hour or so.
Wish I could find those RailBox cars that cheap. Great haul once again!

It's strange, because it feels much heavier than a BB, but it doesn't have the detail of a Genisis. Hey, I can't win em all right.
The little pipe is the brake hose....
VIA rail train looks really good.
Might try Kadee 17, 18, 19, or 20 for the B unit coupler.
Nice score, especially on getting those Railbox cars with all unique numbers. Can't wait to see what's in bag 3. You need to tell us how the missus takes all this when she finds out...and she will. ;)
If I go quiet for a while, you'll know why.
Nice Haul Davec
hi Dave
Dave I would paint the roof of the B unit black to match the A unit
Good idea
Awesome haul dave! I do believe that is a regular blue box in a genesis box as the headlight should be in the nose and as far as I know athearn never made a genesis via rail f unit
Yeah, I was looking online for a via genisis....couldn't find one, lol. Oh well. Win some lose some.

Yes, I'm not too bothered. I'll convert it to DCC and add better lighting.
Great video by the way I got the same box car
Certainly much cheaper than British stuff 👍
and even more goodies. WHERE DOES IT END?

I'll check my email, but I just did a video on how I upgrade them. I wonder if we used the same technique.
@@ScottRails I'll look for it. I get notifications.
Conrail is white because it's a Mechanical Reefer. Would have refrigerated or frozen food inside.
Thanks John.
Model Railroading You can Never Be into the Doghouse as Long as I Have Been Railroading No Harm No Foul.

Nice collection of freight cars. Be glad to see the next bag of goodies. Whats up next for the layout Dave?
Still threatening to do the station area. Hopefully this weekend.

Yes, we have the biggest population in Canada per square mile I think.
10 dollars for a Kadee car is a damn good deal

Oh well, good with the bad, and all that.
You should find a way to add on to your layout as far as track.
Track is fine, I want some scenery, not just track.
The ACL unit just looks like it has been sitting out in the sun to long. Also the Railbox cars look good too.
Hi have you got any Alaska RR as I've just purchased the walthers GP9 set with caboose and the QNS&L sd40 just wondering what you thought about them .
I don't have any....yet, lol. I think I saw one at the show but thought it was a made up name.
I’m telling your wife…. Or 50$ to keep my mouth closed! Lmao just joking.
Pffft, I would have paid a hundred, lol.
All in fun…. Life is short.
Ur A unit is a F-7 the square windows insread of round tell that the B unit is a F8-9 B unit
