    1:17 All 2009+ Dodge Challengers with manual transmission have hill-start assist (but you have to make sure it's enabled, via the screen display, of course), so that particular issue with driving a manual is not an issue anymore. Hill-start assist holds the brake for you on an incline, then lets go immediately once you begin to move forward. I believe it's enabled by default, but if your car is used, it's possible the previous owner disabled it.

    Fascinating. I drive a manual transmission car daily and I always thought or understood that driving a manual helps driver being defensive on the road and not be lazy. With this specific hellcat car, it seem intimidated I guess? I previously drove Accord V6 6 speed manual 278 hp and I liked it but not too thrilling. Never drove the manual challenger.

      You're spot on! By nature of how much you're doing you have to be more aware. There's no set it and forget it mode with a manual.

      @@edgaryzen4925 What year is it? The V6 made a decent amount of power and getting it in a manual only adds more fun to the mix! I wish my old truck was a manual so I might be biased though 😂

    My 2020 Challenger R/T manual came with the Hill Start Assist feature and it works well.

    great video. im torn between a manual hellcat wide body and a redeye wide body for the extra power and stronger internals. I own a 392 manual and absolutely love shifting and having all that control . that redeye tho.....

    • @natesrt
      @natesrt  3 года назад +2

      You could always upgrade a Hellcat to more power than a redeye even with the stock internals. The price difference being 13K gives you a nice amount of cash to play with for that plus you still have a manual 😁

    Hey Nate ! Great channel!
    I just bought a used 2019 widebody hellcat manual from oregon to ship to New Jersey. That’s how rare the widebody manuals have become. Only 5 available in decent shape in the country.
    It has 24,000 miles. What are your thoughts ? Two owners and clean title. No accidents. I just hope I’m not inheriting tons of problems. You can even check it out. Beaverton kia in oregon. It’s on their website. Go Mango with black hood. Super excited!

      @natesrt  2 года назад

      Thanks man! That's a nice car! A widebody manual has gotta be pretty rare so nice find! It's a 2019 so should be pretty solid. The supercharger issues were worked out by late 2017. Check out my video on the Barton shifter also. That could be your first mod! It makes a world of a difference!

      @@randydavis5313 Either one will be great. It's just up to your preference of looks and feel. What you'll notice immediately is the precision action of the shifter. And those 2 to 3 shifts are so easy with the Barton. The thing is built like a tank!

    Muscle memory semi-automates driving a manual car as it develops, i can get lost in my thoughts and i can drive just fine off muscle memory alone.
    people just overexagerate how much ofna hussle driving in heavy traffic is, its really not.
    Here in europe everyone is thought to drive on manual cars and 70% still drive stick.
    As for traffic jams, they are just annoying on their own and i find an automatic car that crawls forward on its own to be far more annoying when i have to hold the brake all the time.
    Plus people should just get clever and find alternative routes to minimize time in a jam. Even if it ends up being only a tiny bit faster than waiting it out, its not frustrating and potentially more economical if you can be on the move instead.

    • @natesrt
      @natesrt  2 года назад +1

      Yeah agreed. I have a friend that could multitask smoking a cig, talking on his cell, and shifting in traffic. It was like second nature. It's really not that big of a deal driving in traffic. I did that for years in Miami stop and go driving a G35 manual. And when the road opens up it's fun time!

    Everything you said and if you want to just drive and sip a cup of coffee get an auto…. Love manuals but they don’t offer it on the red eyes. This will be my first performance auto car. I hear people say though it’s a great tranny.

    • @natesrt
      @natesrt  2 года назад

      The auto sounds like a great tranny, and you'll put the power down consistently. I think the manual was at it's limit already with the regular Hellcat so the Redeye was probably pushing it too far.
