I bought Alpha Industries M-65 Field Coat, size Large in olive color 5 years ago in Australia. It is made in china and i'm quite satisfied with the quality. I wash it regularly because i want a faded look but since then it decreased of 1.5 inches from from it's original size.
How do they fit anyone know? I would hope the 3x is big because if I buy one I want the liner to go with it since my security company I work for has yet to provide me with a proper winter coat
they are oversized, if you buy your normal size you will have plenty of room. they are designed to accommodate layers underneath, so they are all roomy.
I would like your review on the jacket, I heard that the NEW alpha series jackets are made in China (which isnt a prob), the pockets are smaller and the stitching is not up to military quality in durability? Also I have heard that the shell of the jacket is absolutely amazing. Let me know I really want to buy one.
Anyway, since middle 80es there is not a genuine GI issue Alpha m65 field jackets in production. Just like you said. Liner became more "fancy", jacket changed overall look, color ( shade) and material, too. This is mot same quality as Alpha made them for army under contract with gov. You can find great, millitary issue in some surplus stores.Old Alpha, Cherokee, Gibraltar, So Sew, John Ownbey, Golden mfg. Atlanco, Winfield with characteristic zippers by, Scovill, Talon, Conmar, General, Ideal and early YKK . Early DSA and later DLA contracts. ;)
If you buy the Alpha m-65 they come up really big. I'm a 42 inch chest, and the small size jacket fitted really well. I bought mine in London.

The quilted liner is sold separately, and can be attached on the inside of this jacket.

They fit a little large. I have a 39” chest and the medium felt a little big.
