Learned a lot! I was afraid of the Fairlight page. I would have been so tempted to change the video track to meet the voice, and I didn't like the voice-over voice. But you improved it! Thanks for this lesson.
Please make hit zoom transitions. Zoom in hit and zoom out hit. There's no video like that on RUclips for davinci Resolve, I only found one video on premiere pro but it's complicated to apply in davinci Resolve.

Thanks a lot! Is it possible to do dynamic equalization in DaVinci instead of ducking? Maybe this can be done with third party plugins? Dynamic equalization allows audio to sound more professional when we place music below the voice track, because not all the music is muted, but only the frequencies that conflict with the voice.
@@JasonYadlovski Thank you, Jason! 🙏 I know that I would be better off using a third-party plugin, but how CAN I SEND the main audio track to this third-party plugin so that it can be used to mute the frequencies?

Good to see you put the sound together in this project Jason. It sounds great. I find getting the sound right takes longer than editing video but I am getting quicker each time I edit. I'm looking forward to trying the new tools in Resovle 19. 👍
I learned great things here yesterday, today, and likely tomorrow. The period/comma quick key is a life saver. I think this vid bumped my audio up to somewhere still well below the stratosphere- but for me that's a giant improvement.
I cannot get Studio to record from my devices for voiceover. Tried different devices, watched every video I can find (including yours) and done it all, still I get no meter movement, a blank track and empty files. I am at a loss...very frustrating.
@@JasonYadlovski : Thanks for the reply. Yes I've tried both devices (plug in powered mic and a Zoom H1n) in other programs and they work fine. Set as the default mic both in Resolve and in Windows 10, set to 48k, both patch successfully. Arm for record, hit the record button, no meter movement and no recording. My only though is that some other program may be interfering somehow, though I've tried turning everything off including the anti-virus. Like I said, I am at a complete loss. Using Studio 19 Beta.
interesting, how about changing the location for the recording to be saved? Or try cleaning our the Cache files maybe. Could also check the input monitoring settings under Fairlight along the the top, but that should only affect the monitoring, not the actual recording. I wonder if it has something to do w/ the new Auto Patching - I haven't been able to get that to work at all, but there's a setting I saw for it under preferences, User, Fairlight, then 'enable auto patching'. Maybe turn that off?
@@JasonYadlovski : Thanks for the assistance. Turned off Auto Patch, deleted the cache, still nothing. Oh well, guess I'll just remain stumped on this one. Easy enough to use the Zoom for recording and then upload the audio file, so that's the solution for now... Cheers, always enjoy your videos.
That was really great Jason. That will help out a lot. Great initiative too. This made me realize that although I'm not quite there yet, I'm on the right track with my audio editing. Which I really struggle with. So thank you!!
@@JasonYadlovski your videos are the only reason why I even stand a chance at my editing. Lol! My recent vlog only had half decent audio because of all the tips you've given.
Thanks so much for this whole video, i'm struggling with sound editing and you make it seem so easy

You're welcome! Thank you for watching!
Wow! Absolutely awesome, Jason. What did I learn? Holy cow, what didn't I learn, as in everything was perfectly practical. Thank youuuuu for the work.
Awesome, thanks so much Lee! Glad you found lots of good stuff in the video! Thank you for watching!
Great video Jason ! You really made the sound coming together!
Also, love your description, very pleased to be the most frenchie colorist on RUclips 😎
Thanks! If I’m being honest, I did copy some of your video description 😜 Awesome job on your video, it was really good!
@@JasonYadlovskiperfect ahah
I love the title 😝
Only getting to this now - this is awesome, Jason 🤟
And what an amazing cause too 🙏🏻❤
Thanks Gary!

Was this collaberation accomplished thru Black Magic Design's Project server service?
We did use the BMD Cloud for some of the project. 👍
Thank You so much for wonderful videos.
You're welcome!
Did y’all use the Blackmagic cloud project library thing?
We did, but I ended up copying everything to my local Drive to record the video.

You need a 3rd party plugin to do it. Something like the Waves F6 would do it.

I don't have ducker on mine and I have the last update in the pro version. How is that?
Strange, you've got 19 Beta 3? Make sure you're selecting the track before looking in the inspector....

Hi I'm from India, TamilNadu Thank you so much 👍🏽
Hello from across the water!
can I add clip to bus in davinci resolve or I can only with track to bus ? Thank you
Tracks get added to a bus, you can’t send a single clip unless that clip is in a track by itself. Then you can send that track to a bus. 😜
@@JasonYadlovski We hope to add this important feature in future releases of davinci resolve

Any troubles with patching the microphone? Have you tried recording in a different program just to see if it works?

Since you are using a beta version, may be you should report this issue to Blackmagic Design. This may be a bug they should take care of.
God bless you for helping us newbies.
