    Should be possible to mount a rudder to a potentiometer, feeding it with 1 V and sending this output to the Arduino input to detect the voltage. 360 would be equal to 1 V and everything less than that would be equal to anything around the circle and if you’re using a linear potentiometer it should be directly convertible.

      The problem is potentiometer turn/rotation is limited. While this sensor has unlimited turn and has consistent value every deegree.

      @@miliohm Don’t they make a 1K potentiometer that has continuous rotation? If not, just break the stop point so that it just keeps rotating round and round round. I’m such a hack, :-/. It’s worth a try even if you destroy a potentiometer in the process the alternative is to spend $50. You may not even get that to work because some of these wind direction devices require a transformer that puts out incompatible Arduino voltages.

    hi, i've been doing a simillar project to yours, but instead i use 12 v lipo battery, i wonder why the output of the angle direction cannot reach until 360degree, its only goes up to around 200 degree then goes down around 50 degree but never 0, can anyone explain it to me? please help

    can you do this without arduino? with c++

      It just read the analog voltage. You can use any device.

      @@ibrahimskl470 it has no brand. So im not sure, but you can find similar in Aliexpress. Just type analog wind direction sensor
