Hey Bruce! Great video, thank you for sharing. I have this same mower and I’m having a RPM issue. Way too high. Changed the oil last year and went to mow this year, oil is black. It starts up fairly slow, blows black smoke. Any insight on what I may need to look at? Thanks again!
Those were great mowers. Me and my dad both owned one for years. That linkage setup is a little different and can be a little difficult. You did a great job as always Bruce!
Great fix Bruce. Those kawasakis are a little complicated but not for the master , you called it right away. I just bought 8 JD JS 63s all with 3 speed rear drive and I think 3 have bags for $100. 3 have quantums and the rest have inteks. Got 1 running last Sunday night

Hello Bruce, I’m working on one of these that has spark but backfires through the carburetor when I try to start it. I think I got the needle to finally seat in the carburetor so it should not flood any longer. Wondering if the key might be sheared?

I'd really appreciate more information and history on these. I love my JD 12 PB, got it for $140, the extra $40 from $100 was delivery.

Is the cable stuck or is it the lever it goes to? If it is the cable gerting some rust penetrant into the cabe may help. You may have to remove the cable.
Good video sir ! I just did-- sell a JS35 John Deere ! Self Propelled with Bag. 1 lever deck adjustment, Briggs Quantum engine. $75 Folks around Indy don't like green mowers. I had it listed for $95 for 4 days on FB. No interest. Guy drove 35 minutes to buy it. I have learned in this area, List a *_Red_* self propelled mower _with_ a bag for $120 up - - it'll be sold in 2 hours. Honda , Kohler or Briggs, they (buying customer ) could NOT care less.

@@BrucesShop I enjoy it all the time Bruce. Hey Bruce I have a Stihl back pack blower and it not getting a spark so I pick up a coil and still no spark. I also check the spark plug and the plug is good. I remove the ground wire from the coil and check again for spark and nothing. Any ideas? Really appreciate the help. 👍🙏👍🙏

The owner must have played around with the speed and idol dial Also the RPM are set to high the Manuel says 3075 @ full and 1500 @ Idol For Kawasaki 4 Cycle FC150V Motor .

I have a Craftsman 1990 riding mower with a 12.5HP Briggs IC engine on it, and it has practically the same convoluted throttle and choke plate mechanism, as the choke and throttle are integrated into one. I must admit, I hate it, but it works, but I rather have separate controls. Good job fixing this one Bruce!
Had a young guy bring his brand new mower in, long story short..... He put gas in the oil port, and oil in the gas tank..... I cleaned everything out, 100 dollar charge, and I showed him what he did wrong, he didn't have a clue.... LMAO
I get it I just had a mower that just came in. The owner said it needed a tune up. Sheared flywheel key, Striped blade adaptor ( star type to the blade ) a bent bade 5/8 ths out and the internal deck sheet metal shredded. I got it going. Toughest but most fun tune up ever.
Doing a Honda mower today, can't tape it need the fans on, 96 here today, but the Honda I got for free, I had maintained it for a couple of years for this lady, well for some reason, she took it to a proshop, they charged her 275 American dollars, it it still wasn't fixed, so she bought new, and gave it to me, this thing is top on the line, even blade brake clutch, everything works as it should, it's been garage kept since new, it turns out, it's missing the second c-clip on the right rear, the pro shop didn't see that, well it's fixed, and I'm selling it for 400, wish me luck.... LMAO, I'll take as low as 250.

The chokes are tricky on these. Make sure it is open on running speed.

As I has a decrompressio release it will only show 60-70 lbs

I am not sure. Usually surging is a lean condition, On this one i turned up the RPM and that helped it.

That mower looks like a cast aluminum deck plus the engine looks like a Kawasaki 🙄🙄??
