Hi bush. An old man in Alabama taught me a trick for a swallowed hook. I wouldn’t take the time to type this out but it works literally every single time. Take a stick, strong enough that it won’t break but small enough to fit in the fishes mouth. Put the stick in the fishes mouth and hold that stick and your line with one hand, letting the fish hang. Now spin the fish using that stick while hanging onto the line. The line wraps around the stick, turning the hook, and the point of the hook goes into the stick. The fish will fall to the ground completely unharmed. It works every single time. With your following, I think it would be good to demonstrate this so that as many fisherman as possible know. This works so well that I keep a wooden dowel in my tackle box for this singular reason.

yeah i had heard people saying big pin fish like that tasted good, then one time i was kayak fishing north side of Howard park and caught a several of them all around 10 inches.. brought them home, into the frying pan, man they were nice to eat! ive found them around around the 5..7 inch mark but they seem too small to get a fillet out...

Hola Bush. I took my 10 year old son to Courtney Campbell this morn and he got his first Snook (21") and first Trout (17"), plus a short Snapper and a huge Puffer. I have you to thank for our success!!! :D Maybe we could meet up sometime.
Now if I could just find a decent batch of Mojarras for Snapper and we will be in business. I was at Cypress Point Park yesterday and all I caught were baby Mojarras and mud minnows. This fish we caught this morn all came on live shrimp.
    John

Great job that's a good day. It's been tough finding mojarras lately. Around Apollo Beach you'll find them nowadays because of the warm Waters.
