    Hi everyone, thanks so much for exploring Honeymoon Island with us. What would be your fave area of the island? The dog beach, nature trails or something else?

    I love seeing all of these Florida gems. The dog wearing the goggles was so cute. I had no idea they did that to preserve the space for eagles nests, pretty cool. Seems like a lot to see and do on this island!

    Thanks, Jamie and Skylar. I have a tiny camper and enjoy exploring new campgrounds. It looks as though this state park does not offer camping but the beaches are certainly lovely. It might be fun for you to do a short series on campgrounds in the Tampa/St. Pete area (if there are any besides Ft. De Soto). I always look forward to your videos on Saturday mornings. Have a nice weekend! Rhonda

    • @Explorcation
      @Explorcation  2 года назад

      Yeah, no camping at Honeymoon that we are aware of, but definitely a place that you can spend an entire day. A camping series in not a bad suggestion, Rhonda. We've considered it in the past, but we'd definitely want to do it during the cooler months, as neither of us enjoy camping when it's 80 degrees and humid at night. Perhaps late fall or winter!

    You guys sure do have a lot of options for beaches to discover. That owl would have been cool to see and the Bald Eagle, I'm glad it was a little less flooded than last time.
    Now I have heard of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich before, but never knew you grilled it as well...might have to give that a go. We don't call it jelly over it, instead Jam and would expect it would get extra hot being grilled, but still sound nice :)
    The sunset at the end was devine and no better way to end the day...Love it guys and thanks for sharing

    • @Explorcation
      @Explorcation  2 года назад

      Yeah we have both jam and jelly here. Not exactly sure what the difference is. I think jam may still have some of the actual fruit in it, whereas jelly is basically just sugar and fruit juice. It was pretty good, but I don't think we'll be making them at home. We did really luck out with the sunset, and agree that it's the best way to end a day!

    • @AquariusTraveller

    Thanks so much for showing us around Honeymoon Island! This is one of the places I was interested in going to. Have you been to Caledesi Island? Do you have a preference between the two? I didn't realize there were multiple beaches on this island. I really appreciate your honesty when you point out things like seaweed and higher prices for food. Another great video!

    • @Explorcation
      @Explorcation  2 года назад +1

      Thanks so much for the continued support, Tonya! Yes we've been to Caladesi. We actually made a video on that experience as well, but it was several months back. Fee free to check it out!
      Honeymoon definitely provides more variety than Honeymoon (dog beach, hiking trail, nature center), but Caladesi has one of the most beautiful beaches in Florida and a deserted beach feel that is really hard to find in this area. If we had to visit just one we'd probably pick Caladesi, but it's also more work to get to (you either have to walk the beach for a couple miles or take a ferry).
      If you haven't seen our Top 10 beaches video, you may want to check that one out as well. We go over the pros and cons of 10 different Tampa area beaches, one of the being Caladesi. Thanks again for watching, Tonya!

    We have seen lots of snakes in Florida, including several species of poison ones. You always need to be on the lookout for them in grassy or wooded areas.

    • @Explorcation
      @Explorcation  2 года назад

      Thanks for the tip, Lewis. We saw one copperhead up around Crystal River near one of the springs, but we have never seen a poisonous snake around the Tampa Bay area. Thankfully that trail was wide and well cleared, so it would have been hard to accidentally step on one. But we were definitely still on the lookout for them!
