  • This video shows how I removed the inlet manifold on my 2006 Maserati Quattroporte M139.
In order to be able to do this, I had to first remove the windscreen wiper cowl followed by the dash panel upper moulding. If you would like to see these videos, then please follow these links:

I'm doing this because I have an intermittent engine light with an error code that suggests there may be an issue with the phase sensor on the left side of the engine. To change the phase sensor you need to access electrical connectors at the back of the engine underneath the inlet manifold.
I have lots more videos coming up so if you would like to see more then please subscribe to my channel and click on the notification bell to be notified when I upload new videos.
    Thanks for watching. Ade

Excellent video...I have a 2007 Maserati Quattroporte Executive GT and I need to replace the crank sensor. Where is it located and will I need to remove the intake as you did in this video? Any pictures would really help.
    Thanks

On my 2006 it is under the inlet manifold. I had this replaced by specialist when I first purchased my car. Cost me £700. The part was £65. All labour was removing all the bits to get to it. Lots of sensors under there. Good luck . Ade

Oh dear. Sounds like you’ll have to get some diagnostics and investigation into the cause of those. Could be a number of things going on there due to the overheating. Good luck

Great video Adrian. I'm tackling alternator replacement on a 2013 Granturismo. Any video of alternator removal and replacement?

Hi Gary, thanks. Sorry I don't. I've not had to do that yet. I did look at the job whilst I had the inlet manifold off though and its pretty straight forward after you have removed the auxiliary belt. Unbolt and unfasten connectors and replace with new one. The biggest bit of the job is getting to it. Cheers Ade

@@AdrianLeggettUK Thank you Adrian. Currently struggling with removal of driver side wiper arm. Its stuck on! I ordered wiper arm removal tool so we shall find out if that works.

@@garyhertfelder4904 good idea is to spray some WD40 on it a few times and let it soak in. I did mine over a couple of nights as one was corroded and stuck fast the first time I removed them. Good luck.

@@AdrianLeggettUK Hi Adrian. New alternator has been installed. Most difficult part was removing the wiper arms. I needed a puller to remove them. Engine started and running fine on test drive . However after first test drive, the car was started the and now its running rough with a CEL on. New problem to address! I plan to purchase the Autel AP 200 diagnostic tool. Hopefully it will identify source of engine issue.

It's pretty good. Having had it quite a while there are modes that I prefer and others not so much. I need to make another video to do a demo. Thanks for the reminder.
