Hi, I just replaced the Lcd screen and digitizer with brand new parts. The Lcd screen works but the touch functionality no longer works on my switch. I've connected it back all up but am not sure why its stopped working. Any ideas would be much appreciated.
What to do when you replaced the digitizer and the touch screen does not respond in the middle of the screen? More people have this problem after replacing the digitizer or game card slot!! I have gone through 5 digitizers, only to find out that it has to do with the game card slot.... This is the most frustrating repair I have ever been through. The digitizer and game card slot seem tied from the factory, it seems to me that it is useless buying aftermarket digitizers or game card slots as this is a lottery of getting compatible parts. The question for me that remains is: HOW do you get a compatible digitizer and game card slot that actually fully work???
Hi Good question The problem with the card reader once you remove it you have to make sure it clips back in correctly these can be a pain once removed if it has been bent in the slightest on removal this could be your problem the parts your buying are most likely fine check to see if any pins have been damaged on the motherboard and the card reader connection if you have a magnifying glass you can check with that any should do. (I screw the card reader back into place before clipping it back onto the motherboard this seems to help)

The old digitizer which is slightly deformed still functions perfectly, it really points out that there is incompatibility with the the new digitizer and game card slot. I really feel that it is not because of how the ribbon cable is inserted. I have tested new OEM digitizers outside the frame as to not even bent it at all and I get the same result. I am really stuck at what to do. I will try again tomorrow, but none of the pins have been damaged on any of the digitizers I have, I triple checked everything. It has 61 pins, perfectly inserted in the requested angle. The model I am working on is an HAC-001(-01) Animal Crossing limited edition. Totally gutted by this problem. Could a factory reset help or buying a new game card slot? (I am afraid that maybe the motherboard won't work with the game card slot.)
No you don't really need to remove any boards just take the digitizer of then add the new one you don't really need to remove the game slot reader just the back covers

Mostly only care if I can get the display to show picture. Forgot to mention but I dont know if lcd is damaged as it lights up but no image or nintendo sign or even when I charge no picture comes up it just lights up.

Every time I take my switch out the dock now matter how careful I am there is a new scratch on my screen
I would suggest a screen protector the problem with the screens they are plastic so they can easily scratch compared to glass

If u only need a digitizer replacement do u only have to do the part where u replace the screen or do u have to do all of the steps?

Have you changed the screen if you have check the screen cable connection it may be damaged or a bad pin
