a huge thank you for this, every video I had seen previously made it seem like the LCD was not adhered to the digitizer, and this deterred me from attempting any screen-related jobs due to concerns with dust. however, shortly after watching this, I successfully removed a nice JDI LCD that I can now swap into my personal unit :)

Hi, I just wanted to ask something. See if a switch starts having phantom touches after updating the system, would that be the digitizer causing that or would the update have been responsible? I'd really appreciate it if you can responnd to my comment.
Just thinking out loud here. If the console did not have any issues before the software update, then began having issues after .. it's pretty safe to reason the update caused the issue.
While I'm reluctant to suggest it, if you're careful, an oven could probably be used. If you keep the temperatures below 150F, you should be ok. Just need to soften the glue. A hair dryer would even work. Good luck!
So beside the water or factory defective...If you press it hard , will it damage as well? Like when you press on LCD computer monitor, there is always a black mark that shown and as soon as you release it ..The mark disappeared ... What happened was when I installed the screen protector, I didn't know the screen was plastic and I presses hard to make the bubbles away from the screen protector ...Will I damage it?
Hi I just ordered two digitizers and lcd replacements and both lcd replacement don't work the digitizer does but the screen is still black please someone help
Shine a light on the screen. If you see a picture your backlight doesn't work so check the connector for backlight (google it). If nothing, check the LCD connector (right below the game cartridge reader). This is a commonly damaged component as the pins are very easily bent.
Hello, quick question, how can I just remove the digitizer? Some dust was inside my switches screen and I just wanted to lift it up a bit to remove it from the inside. I wouldn’t have to unscrew anything right? Just heat it up and lift it?
Theoretically, yes. But be careful because the ribbon cable for the LCD and digitizer is short and very fragile. Also, it's very possible you'll just get more just in there.
Thank you for detailed video, I've ordered digitizer for my switch and planning to replace it when it comes, do you have a recommendation regarding how hot the heat gun should be? I mean the temperature which you can safely heat your switch and not damage the lcd behind it. Hundred and twenty seems too hot for me, what about hair dryer? Could you suggest the best way to peel the digitizer if I ever use hair dryer. Thanks
@@Kumorides0 Yep, replaced it without issue, just apply enough heat but not too hot around the edge of touchscreen, and carefully pry it, I used plastic opener on the bottom left of speaker and going around little by little, just be careful you don't accidentally break the flex cable on the right side of the screen, and don't forget to remove and place rectangular adhesive tape from your old touchscreen to a new one, this is because the tape act as a pillow between your screen and touchscreen so your screen won't jiggle around, finally remove old adhesive from your touchscreen if they're not strong enough anymore and apply a new one around the housing shell. Make sure there are no dust on the screen either. Personally I used adhesive for replacing touchscreen on phone. Good luck!
Hard to say. If the console has been dropped the screen may have physical damage. Or, it's possible the connector is damaged from previous work. Either way, you'll need to disassemble to know for sure.
Just have to carefully separate the two. More often than not when you heat the assembly the LCD stays in the case rather than coming up with the digitizer. Just leave all the screws in the MB and remove the game card reader.
You can lift it but you'll likely get more dust in if you don't completely pull it off and clean it. If you remove it completely, you can leave the LCD in place and use some Scotch tape (clear tape) as a dust remover. Just be very careful with the ribbon cables.
Just align the lcd on the digitizer first. The digitizer has an outline of the LCD with adhesive on it, I will usually stick the lcd to the digitizer in this way first.
Hi Bob I replaced the screen on my nintendo switch I feel like everything went smooth however I do not have power now.. so I thought i may have been too rough on the battery getting it out, so I replaced it and I still have no power and it will not take a charge .how can I troubleshoot this situation with ohm meter or any other way?
@@illfather7066 I would suggest getting a USB C power meter to understand if your console is indeed pulling any current. It's also possible the console is turning on but the screen is not. You can try tapping the screen to see if the console reacts to the touch screen - this would indicate something is wrong with the LCD or installation. I have a video and others have done videos on checking for shorts on several capacitors around the M92T36 chip. This is more unlikely UNLESS you damaged pins when installing the LCD connector

Whenever you get a tiny line through the screen like that, it's never the cable or the connector. If the connector was faulty then you'd see alot more than just a single line across the screen.

hay pantallas OLED para ese modelo de nintendo switch?
Where can I find a Digitizer HAC-001 compatible... I got one from ebay which only works on its corners
That's a good question. I don't know the answer to this. Still unsure of what dictates the differences between them.
@@GTurbski supposedly the game card reader plays part but I've searched everywhere for information to no avail

Use a plastic scraper or old credit card/gift card to remove the bubbles.

Will a new lcd will work on a switch with crazy flickering? Dockmode works perfectly fine.
Hard to say. If the console has been dropped the screen may have physical damage. Or, it's possible the connector is damaged from previous work. Either way, you'll need to disassemble to know for sure.

What is you just have the lcd and want to replace the screen without digitizer
Still have to remove the digitizer. Process is exactly the same.
Have you ever had it where the replacement digitizer works except for the middle of the screen any tips
Yes. The ribbon cable may not be seated completely. Otherwise, the digitizer may not be the correct version for the switch.

Send me an email at garrettpelowski@gmail.com

Same
Hey will this work on a switch lite?
I'm thinking the process is very similar between the two
I want to replace my digitalizer but I’m afraid I will damage my switch, are there many possibilities to damage your switch during this process?
Yes. You can short something out, you can tear ribbon cables, you can scratch the screens, you can introduce more dust, etc.
Affter change the screen have you ever had error 0002
Try removing the game cartridge reader from the board and boot again. Console will still turn on without it just won't be able to use touch screen.
bless you
it worked for me but if anyone plans to do this be carful it took me 4 hours to do
