Well well, seems that after watching you nail all the chip replacements I am a little disappointed you powered up a different device in the last clip to show it working. I was impressed until that point.
And he has a touch like an elephant, he has no business in electronics, slinging parts around, and when he flipped the switch over onto it's LCD side like that I died a little inside.
For people wondering about the temperature for the hot air station it needs to run pretty hot. The P13USB has a solid copper plate on the bottom of it, so you're likely going to need to run a temperature between 400-450 for quick chip removal. After removal let the board cool down for a while before prepping and installing a new P13USB. If the temperature is too low you will likely pull the pads and doing trace repair with wire is no fun especially if you have to try and reseat the chip again and run wire.
I'm completely new to this. I bought a good multimeter (Fluke 117 model) and not sure how to use it. I bought a Switch OLED on Ebay that has no power. I know 90% of the problems with no power on these units are the M92 chip being bad based on many videos that I've watched on here. What do I need to set my multimeter to in order to detect shorts?

can you share sorroundings smd resistors around M92 on switch OLED? I lost two of them and I have no clue what to buy... :(
Hello, Thanks for your video. A question: can this charge problem cause error 2162-0002? My Nintendo switch not charge, when i charge the batery out and power on show me this mesase
hi my friend.. i have a very similar problem but mine only have in short the first cap you test you know the left one beside the ic? did you believed its the ic or i can pullout the cap and check? did i need to put another cap or i can left this without it?
Hey, Chase spoke about your FB group but I don't do FB so figured maybe I can ask here. I have a switch lite, powers on, charger fine, no water damage but interminately it will shut off and sometimes shut off with a long beep. Voltages seem fine, charge port is fine and I don't see any obvious shorts. M92 and BQ seem fine as well. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
bro yesterday i installed a mod chip in my oled (im not professional nor skilled), everything was fine, boot hekate, emunand, installed games and played. but it's not charging anymore, can i do these tests? maybe i screwed these charging ICs somehow? battery drained to 1%, worked on dock, on pc i could transfer files via windows, but no charge at all :(
For example, you do not use the switch for a longer period. How to behave the best if you take a break of a.) 1-2 weeks? b.) 3 months? c.) 6 months? d.) 1 year? So that the especially the accumulator of the switch will NOT get damaged... e.) Or how to behave the best if you almost daily use the switch in Dock mode? f.) Or how to behave the best if you almost daily use the switch in portable mode? Devices with accumulators that are not used for a longer period should always be changed between 80-20% of their maximal capacity. They should be stored in a dry place and not exposed to the sun and to the cold. So a good stocking place could be a cupboard in a room that is dry and heated in winter and the switch should never be exposed by temperatures over 40 degrees. right so far? Especially the first switch models that are customer firmware compatible without soldering contain a weaker accumulator then the new switch models. It would be good if an old switch could be preserved as long as possible and could be still used in 2050 ;-) Sega`s game gear is still working today if the common problem of the capacitors is solved. Is for the first switch also a common hardware problem already know? Or according to the PCB layout and the used electronic components which most likely problem could occur in the future? What is your best strategy to ensure a long product life of the Switch? Thank you in advance for your time and advice.
Hello friend I with a doubt my switch does not turn and I don’t even take it apart I realized that p13usb the capasitor on his side is beeping on the multimeter on both sides this is normal and I have to change this p13usb
My Switch works fine, except when playing docked; after some time playing on TV the TV output would fail. When I undock the game is still running fine no reboot what so ever. Is it one of these chips failing? The dock is fine, I have other Switches to rule out the dock failing.
hello on my switch v2 board only 5.2v can be detected on the 15v line... theres no shorted on the board m92 fine batt ic fine usb chip p13 fine... whats causing this? usb port seems fine and nothing seems burned on the board battery doesnt charge and theres no voltage on the phase near batt...
roughly how much would you charge for doing this? I got charged ~50USD from a technician and it was found that none of my IC chip failed but was a capacitor/fuse blown hence he removed it and it worked perfectly fine as usual. He said removing 1 of it wouldn't matter much as there were a few more of them to protect the SoC/board..

So my switch will display a Nintendo logo when I perform a reset but goes back to a black screen after that with no charging symbol.. last night after it was sitting for a day off the charger I pushed the power button and I got the charging symbol... so I left it plugged in all night. This morning it is back to just displaying the Nintendo logo and going back to black screen. Do you think I need to replace that chip? Or could it be a different issue you think.
Game Console Repair Legion Playstation, Xbox, NES So I did more troubleshooting. It shows the power level for a couple seconds if I hold the power button down for 15 seconds and then plug it in. Alternatively if I hold the power button down for 15 seconds then push the power button again it shows the Nintendo logo for a few seconds before shutting off.
Hi there I have just replaced the charge chip and there is no difference I looked on the back and the P 13 had a hole in it. Could the P13 have damaged The new charge Chip that I have put on the board? I’m going to order a new P 13 should I order a new charger cheap as well? Subscribed thank you
Nice, I have a question. My nintendo Switch, when I conect to the dock station it just does not transmit video to my tv, I bought a new dock station but the video just seems shifted not a stable image and after some time the video on my tv just turn off.
Hello, thank you for the video. I need your advice: I have a Switch I'm trying to repair and the left joycon won't synchronize. I tried almost everything and I think the problem is on the motherboard. Can you give me any advice? Thank you in advance and take care!
Can anyone tell me what what resistors the switch uses? and where I might be able to buy replacements? A resistor in my switch popped off while the fan was being repaired.
Those are 2 different settings on this voltmeter. Either you check for resistance and see if smth has a connection to ground (one probe on ground and the other on the part you wanna check). If you hear a beep you know the part has a connection to ground. If you have both sides of a capacitor connecting to ground, you know smth is faulty. On the other hand, you can check the voltage via direct current mode. So you can check again with one probe on ground and the other on the spot you wanna check. In this mode you don't have a sound or beep.

Could be the ic chip or the charge port its self test all the capacitors around the ic chip.
