    So... my work is actually to repair Nintenthings for the big N, and i can tell you that when something doesn't work like a PCB, a rail or a speaker, we don't bother cleaning or searching why it doesn't work, we just replace it with a new one.
    and i can't tell you how amazed i am with all the knowledge you've got on PCB and stuff, because it is my actual job and i don't think any of my co-workers have 1/10 of that knowledge...

    Have you considered doing streams for those of us who are interested in all the meat-n-potatoes of the repairs?
    I'm a hobbyist with electronics repair, and I'm interested in your troubleshooting mindset -- if you're willing to share it, that is.
    There are some things I've run into before that have proven to be real head-scratchers; I'm interested in seeing your thought process on things, and your order-of-operations. I certainly wouldn't mind a 4-6 hour long stream of your work.
    I know it's impossible to please everyone. By all means, ignore my suggestion if it's something you're not interested in at all, or if it's something that most of your followers have voiced extreme displeasure toward. I'm simply speaking for my own personal interest.
    Thanks for the content ;)

    • @zet0korp
      @zet0korp 5 лет назад +20

      The "beep-meter" is designed to inject a small current and see if it loops through the probes (beep - short ) or not (no-beep, open). But he's checking capacitors, which are going to beep anyway (short or no short), because at first the beep-meter is going to charge it (current flows briefly) so it sounds like a short, but then stops readily and there's no beep anymore and that means it's not shorted in and out of itself or via the PCBs/Chips nearby.

    • @xpelestra
      @xpelestra 5 лет назад +3

      @@zet0korp By your logic it would beep when you put probes close together,or put piece of paper betwen tips.Thats not how capacitors and multimeters work ;)
      In this video he is touching other parts with his probes thats why you hear beeping,you can even see that audio is out of sync.

      A very important thing to remember about speed drivers is to not put the screws back in with it until you manually start the screw by rotating it backwards to capture the original threads. By doing this you can prevent cross-threading the screw hence destroying or weakening the screw mount hole. These are just plastic threaded holes where the threads are made at the factory by inserting the screw not premade by a thread machine. If you force drive the screw straight in the device has potential to just fall apart as the screws fall out.

IF it takes an hour to take apart, diagnose, repair and reassemble, that brings the cost to $140.70. Then you have your part cost. $30 parts cost for a video chip leaves you at $170.70. Refurbished typically sells at 10% less than used. So $180 for refurbished system. That's a profit of $59.30. Which isn't too bad. But that is IF that is the cost and labor time. Quick tip about li-ion battery.
    When is left for long time(specialy discharged),the very first charge will be very slow to protect the cell itself.
    So,the first switch may have a good battery but it needs slow charge first before gun in the fast charge.
    REMEMBER,a fast charge to a very discharged cell will cause the cell to permanent damage or even worse,the cell may explode.
    Love the videos!🥰🥰🥰

    Your reaction to the Switches falling was so funny. You reflexively reach out to stop them falling off the table and then realised what happened. VL

    I sold my broken switch, tablet only for.$70. I broke the game card reader. Bought a replacement one, had it installed but it was a dud and then the touchscreen stopped working. Atleast I got $70 for it.....the buyer was aware

      $70 isn't bad
      But couldn't you just return it to Nintendo or the shop is does that count as accidental damage?
