    ST2130 is an amazing little movement for a great price point. Compared to the price for the ETA or even the Sellita SW200 it's about the best bang for the buck in 28k automatic movements today.

    Nice little watch. I would look great in silver with the rose gold or copper couloured details on the dial. I do own a watch with a Sea-Gull ST2130 movement and it keeps time just as well as any Sellita SW 200 does.

    I've had a bad experience with two PT5000's (winding was stiffer than a British upper lip), issues with both the SW and an ETA as well, but surprisingly no issues with my ST19's or my NH35 powered watches.

    • @brianmsahin
      @brianmsahin Год назад

      Good to know. It's good to hear a users experience of the Seagulls, makes me more confident about buying a watch with this movement, and of course all the Seiko movements are very reliable.

    • @wafarris
      @wafarris Год назад +1

      Stiff winding is a design feature in ETA and SW automatic movements, I think. The first one that I got I was concerned especially since I am old enough to remember handwinding most watches and resistance meant stop before you break it (which, of course, is still true on hand-wind only watches). Some people seem to think it is a sign of quality and like it.

    • @Jesterian

    Among 36 watches collection , with nh, etas, sw, myotas 9s, pt…..Already 2 years I have 2 chronos with the manual st1901 movement, both running within +2/+3 spd whatever the position. Flat lines…Quite surprising but it’s reality. Lucky? Don’t think twice. Seagull is an (big)old established brand

  • @timmcdonald5335
    @timmcdonald5335 Год назад +7

    It would be good if you tested the winding of the crown given that you have been very positive about the movement. My experience with this movement is that it keeps good time but there is such a lack of lubrication that when you wind the movement it also spins the rotar at the same time. So there can be QC issues with Seagull.

    • @nfswift
      @nfswift Год назад

      My Heimdallr mm300 with the st2130 has a properly borked date complication. If I advance the time 24hrs the date change will occur 1hr earlier than it's last change. I hardly wore the watch and did avoid using the quick change during the evil hours.
      I did buy another st2130 to swap it out as I do like the watch and they are affordable movements. In the meantime the watch is still quite accurate!

    I'm thinking of replacing an eta 2824 that's not running right. The Seagull is a lot less costly especially if I want a new movement. The major Chinese market website has a number of sellers and I found one for around $40 with a $3 off coupon. So tempting.
