    • @quinn_1212
      @quinn_1212 3 года назад +2

      @@mpcruiser69 yes, this is what I'd read along the way, too. As good as he is, Stapleton himself, is pretty modest about blowing his own horn, and from what I had taken away from a previous article, he's gotten kind of hosed on some past dealings/deals with people who maybe started w good intentions but got lost when it came to playing w the big boys. He ended up getting very little promotion and marketing and just kept playing small venues in small towns until he got his break.
      Unless *that* was just a story, too, but somehow, it seemed believable enough especially when the CMA story came out.

    the thing that makes this entire performance so special is that this is one of those shows where things just click. a group of amazing musicians, getting together, respecting one another, admiring on another, pushing one another and having an absolute blast together. you can tell that a lot of "who sings what" was in the moment, by head gestures and body language (i.e. moving away from the mic and stuff). You can also tell its just one those night, because of the audience reaction. Those arent Fans, those arent every day Joes that are impressed easily, and they where all on their feet, loving every second of it. I truly love this Show and I come back to watch it regularly. I also gained a lot of respect for Justin as a musician (Im a metalhead, through and through, so admiting Justin Timberlake isnt a Boy Band blow off anymore didnt come easy :D )

    For whatever reason it happened, they were having fun playing together, they hadn't played that song in awhile, the crowd was giving it back to them...it doesn't matter why, the band was on one that night. They hit that very rare sweet spot where it feels like you can play forever and there is no such thing as a wrong note, where you KNOW, you don't have to think about it, you don't ever have to wonder or second guess, you know in your soul , the guy next to you has got your back and will help you do whatever, musically, you want to pull off. Complete, total freedom of musical and emotional expression.
    I don't know if that second song was planned...but it wouldn't matter if it weren't. It was going to happen anyway.
    All the two front men could do was hold on for the ride and prey they had the chops to keep up. Fortunately, they did. All you have to do is look out at that audience to see that. The look on the faces of the performers out there... They all knew what was happening on that stage. They had a runaway band, and it was awesome!

    This man is in his 40’s? , why have I not heard of him before, I’ll admit I don’t listen to country music much and I’m in shock! He is a super star in my opinion, I’m at a loss for words, his voice is legendary

    It wasn't just Chris Stapleton, Justin Timberlake and musicians on the stage. The musicians were band members from both Stapleton's and Timberlake's bands. When you see Timberlake looking at the musicians he's awestruck that the musicians are playing so well together and are creating something special. Even the musicians are feeling it. At one point both Stapleton and Timberlake going to the mike and Stapleton nodding go for it. I'm not a big fan of either but this performance was outstanding.

    Nice performance by all. I love Chris. It's cool to see Justin in a different setting. He's definitely a multiple threat. Everyone is obviously having a good time. That's entertainment!

    The H.E.R. Chris Stapelton performance at this year's CMT's was phenomenal.
    Seems virtually no one has seen it yet.

    I’ve tried Jack (Jack Daniels) I’ve tried Jim (Jim Beam). Gin is not used. Chris is from KY and Justin is from Memphis, they both have twangs. Justin saw Chris singing on RUclips right before Tennessee Whiskey came out and really liked him. His wife (Jessica) got in touch with Chris to see if he would come perform for Justin’s birthday party as a surprise. He did and they are friends, good friends. Watch Joe Rogan’s podcast with Chris it’s over an hour long and you will find out a lot about Chris. He will only perform 3 times a week to protect his voice.

    Rebecca was partially mentally prepared for this performance, she still couldn't resist the Charming voice of Chris, and can we blame her? No we cannot, because he was an awesome voice, Justin was great as well and Chris' wife Morgane was equally as amazing. I wish I was there, but too bad I'm all the way out in the Caribbean looking at the sky wishing I could just grow wings and fly.

    The connection with Justin performing with Chris is that they are both from Tennessee and maybe both from Memphis. Which explains the extreme SOUL exuded from both artists. So good!

    I had never really followed Justin Timberlake and I didn't realize how strong he was vocally. Chris Stapleton has an unmistakable voice and does incredible runs! Lots of soul too... But his voice will always sound like Chris Stapleton. I was surprised at Justin Timberlake's range, skill and maturity.... those low runs were impeccable!. He also appeared to be directing the band.

    You can see they both love qualities about each other’s voices and think the genius of Justin woth orchestral arrangement etc works with Chris visions, also Christ and him I think are very the same humble smart, kind, & laid back fun characters so think it makes it work having fun
