The fact that she didn’t win American Idol still blows my mind but then again, Jennifer Hudson came is 7th, Chris Daughtry lost and so did Katherine McFee as well as Adam Lambert!
The only thing that prevented Haley from being the winner of American Idol in season 10 was power-voting. Had American Idol not permitted power-voting, Haley would have won the show in a major landslide going away. In fact, it was power-voting that inevitably led to the downfall of American Idol.
There are a few covers that PMJ have done that I love more than the originals. This is one of them. Haley's voice and the way she sings this make this song awesome. She is in complete control of the song and the vibe that it gives off the entire time. I also like Maiya Sykes' PMJ rendition of Boulevard of Broken Dreams....
Every time I hear her voice it sends shivers down my back in the best way possible. I don't even like American Idol but i fell in love with her the first time I heard her voice.

So great to watch really gifted, talented, professional singers lose their minds over Haley's performances. She really is a gifted, one of a kind. You cannot disagree.
I love watching reactions to this, but seeing professional singers react is my favorite. It just nails home exactly how special her talent is, how special this performance was, and what an amazing instrument was on display.
John Lee Hooker put a microphone INTO a toilet bowl to create the proper sound for his recordings. (doubt there was air freshener for toilets back then).
She came from a family of jazz blues and rock entertainers. Shes been doing this since she was a kid. She has a video of her and her dad playing guitar. 2 songs and one is an original. Shes freaking awesome. I noticed she cleaned the song up some. The original used the F bomb.
George Phillips There are a lot of clips on YTof her performing this live over the years, and she always drops the F bomb at some stage. Her fans wait for it, an always react. It's part of her routine now. It irritates me, but the fans seem to enjoy it, so Haley makes thing of it.

I've watched two other vocal coaches already - no mention of it! thanks. Wow you even RECREATED the "crack" when you said, "and there again"!! 4:45
That's called a "yodel"! With that knowledge I think you'll find many vocalists notice and comment on it. There's no inhale and doesn't jump an octave; it's done in one breath by purposefully breaking between vocal registers.
@@DanKaschel thanks for the clarification. the "breaking between vocal registers" is the same as subtly pressing down an overtone on a guitar string or piano note. For example if you silently press down a G note and then strongly play a C note below it - on Piano - you will hear the G note ring out in resonance as an overtone. So for Haley that overtone ringing occurs when she changes the note down but it's part of the same overtone series, thereby invoking an octave overtone. She slides down a Major Third but approaches the root tonic from an octave overtone.
@@voidisyinyangvoidisyinyang885 what's the mechanism for that? On a piano, pressing a key silently disengages the hammer from the string, allowing it to resonate. What portion of the vocal folds is free to resonate at one pitch while a different part is producing a different note?
@@DanKaschel great question! We know there is "throat singing" (see Tuvan or Mongolian both undertones and overtones) and Tibetan monk chanting (undertones). Ironically I discovered one study saying that meditation was necessary to properly due this type of singing. Why? Well for one thing the right side vagus nerve needs to be activated to deeply relax the throat. When I used to meditate a LOT then I was able to do deep throat undertone chanting very well. So then the question is what causes the right side vagus nerve activation? A study on throat singing stating meditation is necessary first indicates that it's actually an overtone activation. Dr. Andrija Puharich's paranormal research discovered (He also did ear research) - that the vagus nerve is activated by ultrasound. Then tinnitus research discovered the highest pitch we hear externally actually resonates the brain internally as ultrasound! The Quantum biology research of Stuart Hameroff and Roger Penrose cites how ultrasound in the brain is the strongest activation of the microtubules - 3000 times increase in electrical conductance as quantum coherence of the tubulin in the neurons. This means a superradiance phonon signal or superluminal acoustic "negative resonance" from the future! Aniriban Bandyopadhyay's research group provided that data. They also discovered there is a resonance network in the brain - so it has the octave and Perfect Fifth (Fourth). I recommend watching Fields Medal math professor Alain Connes lecture "Music of Shapes." Connes is the only scientist to recognize the truth of music as what he calls, "Two, Three, Infinity." This means that when Westerners learn music tuning as "Perfect Fifth PLUS Perfect Fourth=Octave" this wrongly assumes a symmetric logarithmic ratio for harmonics. Rather the truth of acoustic resonance is an asymmetric time-frequency that is nonlocal - meaning the future and past overlap as "negative resonance" with an "active information" guiding from the future as precognitive signals. An interesting psychological analysis of this is "The Haunting Melody" by Theodore Reik.... So another fascinating analysis is the "BioSonics" research of Dr. John Beaulieu. I just discovered your channel and subscribed because I saw Haley in the title. What a performer with amazing voice range! She should have won American Idol several years ago. I love this modern day jukebox rendition. I’ve heard many beautiful voices that did not fit the profile very well with this smooth vintage technique. But this one is amazing.
The most perfect cover of any song, made her own way..So innovative. This song in a way that no human could have gifted this Earth. Her best song out of all she has done, take us to heaven Hailey
Oh wow, if that isn't one of the most instantly likeable voices I have ever heard, then I don't know what is. As her voice is magic and her vocal theatrics and vocal control are off the charts. Indeed, she deserves to be world famous.
Haley actually is world famous already. She began her career on American Idol years ago and now sings all over the world at Jazz festivals. You should check her out singing while Jeff Goldblum and his band provide backing instruments. Simply amazing music !!!
@@pettyeddie2000 That's funny. World famous? No, not nearly. In fact, Haley Reinhart always remains very obscure because she has refused for years to sign a record deal. As not only can her music not be played on the radio, but she also can't appear on network TV. Hence, most people have never even heard of Haley, let alone have ever heard her sing. Meanwhile, Haley hasn't sang at Jazz festivals since she was in high-school. In any event, just because you got lucky and discovered her, don't assume the public in general has done the same because I assure you they never have.
I love how Haley just lets it flow, how she's singing what she feels. The sighs, the scatting, the tiny "there, I said it" in the middle. She's truly being herself here and it's magnificent. BTW., Merry Christmas, Rrrrrebecca!
It's quite interesting to watch someone die on the inside while they're trying to present the strong face of critique. Kind of a guilty pleasure. #justsaying

Wait... so if Haley gives Rebecca tingles, and Rebecca gives me tingles... does that mean i could give Haley the tingles?!!! Completing the circle?! lmao
Now that's a Christmas present right there, the lovely sultry Haley Reinhart with Postmodern Jukebox (music geniuses ... all of them!) I could not imagine you didnt know this and.. i was right.. ofc you know this but if something is this good, one has to share it, right? I absolutely adore Haley, follow her on social media and on here too obviously, i love her style and the simple fact that she does not conform to industrial demand, she does her thing her way and she does it very well. She could easily be a big pop starlet, but that is not the music she wants to make... so she doesnt, that fact alone deserves huge respect and tells you she's in it for the love of music and entertainment, not for the love of money. (another reason for big respect) And i can easily picture you trying to get on stage with PMJ, actually.. i kinda would not expect anything less from you hehehe Because i really can see you do some amazing stuff with PMJ if given the chance, who knows.. some day it will happen and i for one, will be all there for it :) Ty for a lovely xmassy present Rrrrrrrrebecca, and ty for the react to the adorable and amazing Haley Reinhart.
I would hope one day Haley signs a record deal. Not for the money, but for the exposure and for her to join the big leagues where she belongs. As I think she would make an excellent vocal celebrity, especially because she is so versatile. Not to mention that it would also garner for her the fulfilling success she so deserves. As the fame and money are just pleasant side effects that go along with being a success. But Haley isn't in it for the fame or the money. Instead, she is in it for the love of singing and to have a very fulfilling career.
@@fun4318 i completely agree, and she is pretty successful already. She does voicework for the tv show "F is for family" and she is in a new project "we can be heroes" as well. I think she likes being an independent artist but i agree she should be way more famous than she is, she's one of the hidden gems to be found by people like you or myself.
Haley is the best. As her voice and vocal control are both off the charts. I just wished she would sign a record deal so she can explode into the big leagues where she belongs.
@@robbin.s Really? Haley doesn't want to sell her soul to the devil? Is that what music artists like Lauren Daigle and Tori Kelly, who are both very successful religious music artists, did when they signed their respective record deals with major record labels is sell their souls to the devil? Other than having a very fulfilling and successful lifetime career, what's bad about selling your soul to the devil. Do you go to hell when you die or something? Moreover, how does one go about contacting the devil to sell his or her soul? Is there some sort of voodoo ceremony held to sell your soul to the devil. Since you are obviously an expert, I figure you know all the ins and outs to it. Meanwhile, I assume that like most people, you also sold your soul to the devil to have the career you have. Hence, why is it okay for you to sell your soul but it is not okay for Haley to sell her soul? Finally, let me ask you a very serious question. Did your very dumb mother drop you on your head when you were a little baby and so today you are just as severely mentally deficient as your very dumb mother? I mean, what else can explain your immense stupidity?

Thanks honey happy 2021 💥
Haley + Postmodern Jukebox are really amazing. So is Rebecca! That was too cool. 😎
All i know is if you run on stage at a concert and dive into the audience there better be a video. cause i want to see that! I'm laughing just thinking about it! I know 2020 was a bad year but you brought allot of smiles here . Thanks Rebecca! You know ,that dry humor and all. Cheers and happy new year!!
❤️❤️❤️This reaction! Yes I was tearful too. This rendition feels like a Woman’s point of View while the original felt purely masculine. I subscribed! ❤️from🇺🇸
i remember her from american idol yrs ago..she was my bet though she didn't win.. she has a husky belting sultry voice that penetrates deep down and I want to thank u from the dungeons of my ventricles for reacting to her..what a great way to start 2021! 😁 WOOOHOHOOO ! 😉💞💞💞
Haley Reinhart is definitely very underrated, she slayed this cover !
I love PMJ, seen them live twice. Love their covers of umbrella and all about that base. One of the few cover bands who's covers are better than the originals.
So glad I stumbled across you! My 24 year old singing daughter-Angel will have a great time with you!! 🤩
Love her styling! Enjoy this more than the original!
I've loved pmj for sooo long. Esp Hailey. She's got an amazing voice.
Well. Finally somebody who gives her the props she deserves. She should of won
I just discovered your channel and subscribed because I saw Haley in the title. What a performer with amazing voice range! She should have won American Idol several years ago. Haley performed several videos with PMJ and each one is masterful. Obviously you respect her talent as much as millions of others. Really enjoy your analysis and reaction. I hope you can review more of her including several originals. I'm a new fan of yours
I'm not even a singer, I'm a drummer. This is...wow
Yeah, same.
Most singers aren’t really musicians. Not her.
Wow all your channel looks amazing. I love it how it looks better. I really enjoy your reaction and how you are improving in all the ways.
Thanks sweets
I love this modern day jukebox rendition. I’ve heard many beautiful voices that did not fit the profile very well with this smooth vintage technique. But this one is amazing.
The most perfect cover of any song, made her own way..So innovative. This song in a way that no human could have gifted this Earth. Her best song out of all she has done, take us to heaven Hailey
This is beautiful, and you're beautiful. Cheers!
I'm laughing my head off. Thank you. Your humour is fantastic and endearing. I've gotta check more of you out. So entertaining.
This is my favorite rendition of this song. So full of ingredients. :)
She is crazy, I love it
And the fact that this was her first take. She walked in, they hit record, and she hit this in one try.
Yes! And I believe she was also sick when they filmed this. She had a cold or something if I remember correctly. Amazing!
she would be great at a bond theme dont you think? And what do you think of Billie version?
PLEASE PLEASE put Tamino - Indigo Night live up for review. You will never regret it his music is divine. Western mixed with egyptian sound
First time I heard her sing this it made me cry it's so powerful
FINALLY SOME HALEY REINHART 😍😍
One of my absolute favorite singers!
I like this version so much I've watched every reaction video to it.
Same here. 😅
@@fun4318 well maybe you should read this and “freshen” up a bit. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haley_Reinhart
This is the best reaction! I've been waiting on yours!!
Merry Christmas dear, one of my favorite singers of today she is amazing
I have followed Hailey since the MOST AMAZING PERFORMANCES on American Idol EVER !
I love how Haley just lets it flow, how she's singing what she feels. The sighs, the scatting, the tiny "there, I said it" in the middle. She's truly being herself here and it's magnificent. BTW., Merry Christmas, Rrrrrebecca!
@تصميمات الازياء 의상 디자인 I report spam
This is one of my favorite covers but she also did great on Blackhole Sun by soundgarden
Have you listened to Morgan James? She's incredible x
When You say "mouth shape", I had to smile. EVERY time I watch this video, I picture Cher singing in the 70's when she does that.
Haley is amazing. The whole PMJ crew are phenomenal really
Excellent insight as always Miss Rebecca. Happy New Year to you!
Happy new year darling
The Gathering - Travel - TG25: Live at Doornroosje (anneke van giersbergen)
Just amazing! Just amazing!
So happy you reviewed this, one of my absolute favourites 👌 you should have a look at her duet with puddles the clown 'mad world'
Greetings Darling, I hope you have a amazing week ahead. Great pointers and overall review as always Rebecca!

It's quite interesting to watch someone die on the inside while they're trying to present the strong face of critique. Kind of a guilty pleasure. #justsaying
omgg i never clicked on a video soooo fast!!! loveeee loveee haleyyyyyyyyyy
I like how you admitted you've seen it before. Honesty is refreshing and a reaction is still worthwhile due to your expertise and fun presentation.
Postmodern Jukebox are great and Haley is spectacular in this song! I love her and them.... I see others suggesting other songs, so I will suggest "All About That Bass" and "Dancing With Myself".... Thanks for your reaction!! I'd also like you to react to more Angelina Jordan songs.... :-) Thank you.
"appetizing" The defining Creep cover in my opinion. I try to listen to them all.
I remember Haley from her American Idol days. She has that jazzy voice. Really good.
You have to watch her sing Seven Nation Army.
I LOVE this complete departure from the original her voice is amazing and the band's take is beautiful. And I, also, love your "curse words"! 😳
💑 Thank You Coach 💑 #Neverstopsinging
Have a very very merry Christmas, Dear Rebecca! ❤ Yours! Santa 🎅
Wow. you have so many flavours. You won me over in about 30 seconds. Love ya. And yet I came her for Hailie - "the queen"
I love Haley, and especially her performances with PMJ......sooo happy you did a reaction to this 😊❤❤❤
She was my favorite on A.I.
I have watched this cover many times and have to say Haley's mouth, lip, face and body expression remind me so much of Cher. Yeah, I,m old.
I love your videos, your personality is amazing 😅❤️
Oh also I loovvveee postmodern jukebox I listen to it all the time it’s the best!!!
Thank you!yes I adore them

Love your flipping chips, it’s so expressive
You should react to Joni Mitchell " Both Sides Now".
Hayley Reinhart is the bomb! I love her! This is my style of music!
HELP IM SCARED I JUST FINISHED LISTENING TO THE SONG THEN I GOT THE NOTIF FOR THIS VIDEO??????? i--
You are KILLING IT Darlin'
Wait... so if Haley gives Rebecca tingles, and Rebecca gives me tingles... does that mean i could give Haley the tingles?!!! Completing the circle?! lmao
wishful thinking. god loves a tryer though ;)
ok calm down thirsty boi
Now that's a Christmas present right there, the lovely sultry Haley Reinhart with Postmodern Jukebox (music geniuses ... all of them!)
I could not imagine you didnt know this and.. i was right.. ofc you know this but if something is this good, one has to share it, right?
I absolutely adore Haley, follow her on social media and on here too obviously, i love her style and the simple fact that she does not conform to industrial demand, she does her thing her way and she does it very well.
She could easily be a big pop starlet, but that is not the music she wants to make... so she doesnt, that fact alone deserves huge respect and tells you she's in it for the love of music and entertainment, not for the love of money. (another reason for big respect)
And i can easily picture you trying to get on stage with PMJ, actually.. i kinda would not expect anything less from you hehehe
Because i really can see you do some amazing stuff with PMJ if given the chance, who knows.. some day it will happen and i for one, will be all there for it :)
Ty for a lovely xmassy present Rrrrrrrrebecca, and ty for the react to the adorable and amazing Haley Reinhart.
She doesn’t want to sell her soul to the devil which is what you have to do to make it big.
Love and light to you.
@@robbin.s Love and light to you too and one of these days, you have to show me how to contact and negotiate with the devil.
Did you know she recorded this while sick, in one take and right after recording "All about that bass"? She's amazing. And so are you.
The 'seven nation army' cover is even better... dude on the trombone too! Holy shit
Great analysis. You obviously know your shee-ite. Love your style and abilities. Thanks for sharing.
Oh, and Haley is AMAZING!
Ever reacted to puddle's pity party? I'd recommend hallelujah to start!
Also, happy holidats rebecca, and thanks for alll the entertainment and education too!
10/10 will be here next year
Happy new year from France Rebeccaaaa 😍
