Yes, this has happened and I approached getting the green out by basically hitting the pink pieces again with a power bleach, like you did. I Asked the client if she wanted me to give her a rose gold highlight or try to neutralize even more. The second time it happened, i pre-toned it with a green based direct dye and clear to “naturalize the strands. Then I layered my toners until I got a pretty neutral beige blonde, adding ash and natural. But it’s such an “oh crap”
Moment and I can’t believe you had another client. Gah! I can only handle one of these at a time, because you’ll never know what you’ll
Run into. Love your vids. I always learn something.

I think I would have tried the Malibu CPR first. Malibu also has a DDL which I believe stands for direct dye lifter. Have to say that's why I love your videos because it's real life situations. You inspire me all the time every time I watch your videos. Thank you so much. 💕

Thanks for sharing! I would have definitely used CPR. I think the DDL would have lifted the virgin hair. Such a tough choice. Thank you for watching 🖤

Well I finally tried this on my granddaughter, who dyed her hair ginger over the last balayage I did!
So, made the triangle for the money piece a little bit father back. And the sides a slant to the back of the ear
Because those wide back sections worried me. In retrospect, I could have gone mid ear. Or, wider sections after the first two back to back.
The B To B is a little bit hard to get a small section behind for a baby light BTW.
But anyway, I did zig zag kinda big, an inch cut in half. In the back. Like you showed. Kinda hard to zig zag so neatly as you!
I was worried because her below shoulder length hair,, I couldn't tease to a thin section. And the teasing was hard to get out! I teased as much as I could to get closer to the root. But was still a few inches away.
I think next time I'd slice a smaller section in half. Not zig zag.
They looked like they were going to be big chunks! I was scared! A little hard to wipe off.
    But combed out, they weren't!
Only problem a little too far away from the root. Especially the one in the crown, it was an inch off the triangle.
A bit too much of a drop back there.
I'd do smaller. The underneath were actually pretty good! Not chunky. But three inches away from the root. I'd practice first.
Money piece. Always liked your triangle!
But I did more baby lights behind the back backs. Smaller sections.
Same with the sides, which like I said went back in a slant to behind the ear.
I could have done 1/4 inch weaves or slices behind the first few. Because she thought it was too much blonde!
And maybe a little wider in the triangle not sure.
    I love how yours looks!
I spent extra time in the top and sides then needed I guess!
Depending on how much contrast they want.
But my advice, to anyone trying it, near the top in the crown try half inch sections or smaller, with a half inch or smaller drop out.
    I had to tone her.
    Now she likes it!
Just want that crown piece up higher.
Your perfect money piece video is great!
Thanks. I was also worried about pink underneath!

I would have used a green and gold toner to balance and then depending on what it did, formulate accordingly. Still a beautiful result tho

If she confirmed direct dye, I’d have used Guy tang’s striptease direct dye remover or pulp riot’s blank canvas and a strand test. Just history with the clients who go vivid. I want to see what’s underneath with strand test , too. It’s so much hair that I would want to eliminate as much if that reverting that can happen as possible.

quite a similar incident happened to a friend about two days ago on dreadlocks, as she was trying to get a 5 from dark hair using lightner she ended up with red and asked me what to do ? we went for green to kill the red, so she color with a 6,7 which gave her a cold brown. Her client was happy and smiling so 🙏🏾 thanks God

Would've tried a direct dye color remover like Guy Tang's Strip Tease since it was really faded first if I hadn't taken a test strand. But hey sometimes we forget or think it's going to turn out OK. We're all human after all.

    • @MirellaManelli
      @MirellaManelli  2 года назад +1

My only hang up with direct dye removers is they still act like a bleach and remove natural pigment. I think I would have liked to try something like Malibu CPR instead. You are right, we are human and we forget and this was one of those days for me. 😢

This happened to me about a month ago we were lifting black out of prelightened hair and it turned PINK after I washed it out it was a very light pink I got the rest to about a level 8 which I was happy with and my client. Let me tell you Pravanas ash additive with the rusk 8.11aa kicked out all that pink and any yellow tones and left it really pretty and ash but not over toned, hope that makes sense lol
