      It's perfect for rich people who don't want to bother with cables and multi-speaker system. Also don't forget that these products aren't designed to sell well, they're designed to impress and give people confidence in the brand that's making them.

    • @colors6692
      @colors6692 2 года назад +1

      "even a pretty decent surround"!!! Because most good surround cost more than $6500🤦🏿‍♀ (You can get a decent surround for $500+)

    • @ac7183
      @ac7183 2 года назад +1

      @@colors6692 Nope. During Black Friday, you can buy a good AVR for under $1K and get 5 decent speakers and a sub for under 2k. Then add wires. Atmos can be added for another sub 1k but you might run into power issues which can be mitigated by an emotiva BasX amp which is $549. I think you would have a pretty damn good system.
      Diminishing returns as prices increases happens quite quickly in the audio world.

      There's still be a million reasons objectively & subjectively why one would prefer soundbar rather than traditional speaker system besides the budget, space conserving, cosmetic, feature supports and ease of use all contributes to the decision, unless if you're pre-determined that soundbar can't ever sound nearly as good a traditional dedicated system then you're in the wrong market already friend!

    It just doesn‘t get into my head. Why do people spend that much on a soundbar if they could build a proper 5.1 or even Atmos AV setup for the same money which will give you much better immersion and the feel of sounds coming from the right places. No matter how good this is it cannot replicate that and it will give you a comparatively small sound stage. People are just not used to proper setups anymore so they live in the illusion that this is peak performance…

    B&O, Harman & Kardon, Bowers & Wilkins, Bose. They all were once known for high quality products and still feed of that image. But as with many companies these days, you can tell that a new generation of management is maximizing margin and quantity sold. When I compare todays products to the ones I have from 20-30 years ago there is a definite decrease in built quality (much more plastic etc. and they advertise 10 years now?). I don't think these super expensive products are anything more than market reseach on how much you can milk the market of people that correlate price with quality without any proof, as long as it has this fancy aura to it.

    Reflected sound 🤔 that's funny coz being a bit of a home theatre enthusiast, I've just spent a shitload getting rid of reflected sound. Reflections brings the same sound, accept it slightly delayed! And a delayed sound can sound kind of muddy. (To experienced ears anyway!)
    Mind you having such a well-known brand and considering the tweeters are forward facing... I would imagine one wouldn't have any problems understanding the dialogue (No rewinding)
    What about the vocals... well that's where music comes into it and I'm afraid to say no matter how much money a soundbar cost, if the drivers doesn't have enough space between one another, one is not gonna experience any stereo separation / stereo imaging or more importantly soundstage imaging! Basically if one wants to hear vocals / instruments in different parts of the room... well unfortunately am afraid that's only going to be virtual.
    I suppose this will all come down to ones viewing habits. If one prefers listening to the TV (rather than music) and doesn't want to mess around with AVRs/amps chassis, cables etc, well this might be the right choice for you. But if one wants to experience both, then that's a whole different matter.

    • @arunashamal
      @arunashamal 2 года назад

      You are applying conventional audio thinking to this product which doesn't apply. I admit that this won't give traditional stereo imaging like a 2 speaker setup. But B&O doesn't slap a bunch of drivers and call it a day. They are using the same technology used in lab90 and instead of using the drivers to cut the reflected sound as in 90 they are using it in reverse to throw the sound away to stereo directions. And it is honestly insulting to suggest that a company like B&O who has been in the forefront of audio for 100 years with state of the art facilities did not take reflected sound into account in their products. When their pièce de résistance was totally dealing with room reflections.

    I'm genuinely shocked that for THAT high of a price, only 25% of the HDMI inputs meet the current standard (2.1) required to properly run latest gen consoles/PC hardware at their full spec. If I had the money to chuck around for this and say an 83" OLED, I would genuinely consider spending that much on a good and stylish speaker setup ... but the notion that I would have to choose between running a PS5 or an XBsX or an HTPC at HDMI 2.1 and thus resigning the rest to only 60hz at 4k is essentially unforgivable at this price-point. Though I guess with that kind of wealth I would probably have a separate gaming-room setup. Still, it contradicts all the "forward-thinking" notion to not even jump up the 3 out of 4 HDMI 2.0 options up to 2.1, which probably only costs a couple of dollars in manufacturing....

    • @AmmarMalik
      @AmmarMalik 2 года назад +1

      You only need 1 HDMI eARC port. You shouldn't be plugging in your peripherals into the sound bar anyway. Plug them in your TV and let your TV and soundbar handle the sound duties.

    • @Beehj84
      @Beehj84 2 года назад +1

      @@AmmarMalik that is one possible way that one could be configuring their setup, but it doesn't change my point at all.
      What if one purchased an LG C1 OLED, which only has 1x HDMI 2.1 port, and thus the best way to connect multiple 2.1 devices would be via the brand new nearly $7000 top of the line sound bar ... except the manufacturer saved a few bucks and left 75% of the ports at the 10 year old previous standard instead...

    Love it. I auditioned one in a store 2 weeks ago & passers by outside the store stopped & came in for a listen.
    It's worth reinforcing that it's not JUST a "soundbar". It's more of a sound PROCESSING hub that will eq, group & deliver digital signal to 8 wired & a further 8 speakers wirelessly. So you might add speakers around your home in different rooms in the future, all controlled from the Theatre.
    Another aspect of purchasing B&O is they don't just wave goodbye to you once you've bought. It is INSTALLED & set up for you.
    Cost is high, but value is higher.

  • @theDane70
    @theDane70 Год назад +1

    Usually there is no comparison, this company makes systems that actually listen and adapt the sound to your hearing preferences, what I mean by that is that if you only had the amplifier you could hook up a good quality microphone by recommendations and you bring the microphone to where you sit and and would tune everything to the point where you are listening....
    At a point that they remove echo and distortion at a minimum to bring the purest or neutral sound possible....
    No need for an audio room to enjoy all of that great sound...
