    Thank You Steve! I tried everything but just sounded “congested” to me. Turning off the loudness and putting bass to -1 really opened up the sound. What do you think about the bass management switch? I’m using theatre on its own.

    • @soundsheavenly
      @soundsheavenly  Год назад +1

      Thanks, I agree that turning off the loudness is the best option for most people in most listening situations. Theatre has plenty of bass, so turning it down a little can really open up the sound. Once this is done, many people find that no other changes to the sound profiles are needed.

    Steve gave a really wonderful evaluation of the video. Nice and thorough explanation of the factors that the first-time buyer of a Beosound Theater must take into account. Additionally, I believe that the lovely floor stand for the Beosound Theater does so quite tastefully.

      i like the look of it on a stand without a tv, on a sideboard or something?, but i admit my tastes are a bit different :P i dont like the look of any of the traffic cone shaped speakers beolab 5, 9, 20, are not at all attractive to me. 28, 18, 2, 3, 4, 50, 35, 5000, 6000, 8000, redlines, balance, theater, all look nice to my eyes penta and 90s somewhere in the ok but not fantastic area, and in my opinion look better naked

    • @soundsheavenly
      @soundsheavenly  2 года назад +1

      The good news is that this soundbar will work with all Beolab speakers all the way back to the first Penta, so you can match it to the speakers you like the best!

    Will this soundbar be a significant upgrade if you already have a Beolab 28? I spend 14k for that thing now to add another 8k, it seems a bit steep. Love your videos by the way.

    • @soundsheavenly
      @soundsheavenly  2 года назад +1

      Thanks! The Theatre gives a similar sound output to a pair of Beolab 28, so if you already have these speakers and you are happy with the sound then there is no need to upgrade. However, adding the Theatre to your 28s in the future will give you almost the effect of an extra pair of 28s, at a lower price

    Did you hear it with 90's on too? Good god what an experience that is, it'll try and literally move you when turned up enough 😅

      Yes, it sounds amazing with the Beolab 90s! It is great even without any extra speakers added

    Hi Steve, I was at the B&O dealer yesterday and listened to the Theatre. The sound quality was not bad but it did not convince me - neither with movie clips (here it was even better) nor with music. In my opinion voices came out little buzzing, and spatial resolution was poor. The bass did not sound round. Allegedly, the sound was set to neutral. I had the impression that the entire sound was like pressed into a corset. The dealer then switched to the Beolab 18 and the sound was unleashed - much more harmonious, spatial, balanced. Much, much better. We will now make another test and connect my pair of Beolab 3 to the Theatre, maybe the sound will be more spatial, maybe the voices will be more harmonious. What is your listening experience of the theatre in comparison with the Beolab 18? Regards

      @soundsheavenly  Год назад +3

      Hi, I haven't heard the Theatre with Beolab 18, but it does sound really good when played with Beolab 28. I prefer to turn off the Loudness setting on the Theatre, as I find this really opens up the sound and gives a more realistic sound to voices - this could be the change that you need to get the sound that you are looking for (either with or without extra speakers).

    Hi Steve, do you know which of these 3 shops has the motorised wall mount for the theatre and a TV? My living room is slim and long, looking for a solution to get a best B&O solution out of it

    How is it when listening to music with eg 18s or 28s connected? I usually prefer music in stereo

      It works really well for music, you can choose how to assign the speakers to get the best sound. I recommend having a listen for yourself to get a feel for what it is capable of

    hi Steve, I was wondering if you could help me out, I'm 21 years old, so a lot of older sound systems are something I never learned and dont have much experience with, I was hoping you could help me out. My father bought a pair of Bang and Olufsen RedLine 60's back in the 80s and im trying to set them up. so far I connected them to an amplifier with the speaker wire, and then connected the auxiliary to my computer, I could get some sound out, but nothing mind blowing, the majority of the sound was humming. Im sure theres plenty im doing wrong, I just need someone to point out where. any idea how to get rid of the humming? maybe I need new auxiliary wires and new speaker wire? maybe a new amplifier? I didnt even connect both speakers, I just connected one speaker as a right speaker, connected it to the amp and connected the amp to my computer, maybe I need more things? I thought if I kept it simple I could have better results, guess not, if you have the time in your day id love a response, thank you for your time.

    • @soundsheavenly
      @soundsheavenly  Год назад +1

      Sure, the first thing to check is that your amplifier is working - I would try a regular pair of headphones with this and then try to connect some other music sources (eg. a CD player, phone, etc) to narrow down where the humming is coming from. Once this is working, you should be able to connect the speakers and get some music playing

      @@soundsheavenly thank you so much Steve, not only for replying in a timely fashion but with good advice. I got them to work! I decided I was going to try your trick around 7am, I was just too excited to try and get these things working. I decided id do something different, I took them off carpet, put them on hardwood, and this time connected both speakers, not just one, and I reversed the speaker wire, one side seemed to have been soldered together. I connected them. both, and just powered on the amplifier and put on the radio just to give it a quick shot, because there was no hum at all, and wow was I surprised. They sound great, the hum is completely gone, and all of this because I went to go test my amp with some headphones and decided to sniff around. Not sure what I did, but it worked and put a smile on my parents. Sadly the ABR in both have fallen due to that foam issue, but other than that everything seems okay. Its better to get some more life out of them than to let them die out in a back room. thank you so much, very appreciated, also great channel, I watch a lot of your content because its a great atmosphere, thank you for doing what you do

    Sounds like you have been to alot of places where the theatre was setup and didnt sound good. LOL. Could you name a place where you dont recommend to go and listen to the theatre? Where the team in store doesnt have the knowledge and experience to show this? :)

    • @soundsheavenly
      @soundsheavenly  4 дня назад +1

      Not sure I understand what you mean? I haven’t had any issues with the Theatre where I have seen it demonstrated?

    • @MetalMathiasTP
      @MetalMathiasTP 4 дня назад +1

      @@soundsheavenly You are just making it sound like its important to go to a place where the theatre is setup correctly and the store team have knowledge and experience to show/demonstrate it. My first thought was that this thing should sound amazing nomatter where you go, where you are, how its installed and who has set it up. And secondly, usually when someone recommend something, it must mean that some places is NOT being recommended/liked. Its just the way you explained it between 0:20 to 1:12. Maybe I take it too literal.. It was just a funny way of saying it.

    • @soundsheavenly
      @soundsheavenly  4 дня назад +1

      @@MetalMathiasTP OK, thanks, I see what you mean now. The issue is less with B&O stores, more an issue with third-party sellers as the products get older and resold on the open market. If you find a B&O seller that you can trust locally, I suggest going to them for demonstrations and making your purchases there to be sure of the best service.

    I'm sure it's good for movie dialogue, even the movie sound effects But Music I doubt it very much. Not enough separation between drivers, therefore very little imaging!

    • @soundsheavenly
      @soundsheavenly  Год назад +1

      but have you heard it in person? Having side firing drivers and DSP processing allows for enhanced stereo width effects, which can convincingly widen the stereo image for music. Maybe not the exact experience of separate stereo speakers, but very close in many setups. Well worth a listen to see just how good this system is.

    • @totalplonker824
      @totalplonker824 Год назад +1

      @@soundsheavenly no I haven't heard it and perhaps I shouldn't be making assumptions but the fact remains I'm an experienced 2-channel music listener and I know what it takes to envelop a soundstage. What you're describing is a virtual sound! I'm sure it's enveloping in its own way but nothing like the imaging from a 2-channel stereo soundstage.
      Some people haven't got the know how or just don't want to mess around with cables and I get it. I suppose this is the next best thing! And that's ok too.
      Good video btw
