Stupid question but is the fuel pump «timed» to the crank/camshafts? Does the engine need to be at a specific time/tdc when removing or installing the high pressure fuel pump?
So when you guys put the new pump in, do you get the nuts on first and then loosen the center piece because mine is not going in… If anyone has any insight that would be awesome!!
Well I guess let me clarify, I have the old pump fully out, the 3 bolts, hardline and old fuel line out. We fixed the new fuel line on but when we went to put the new pump in, it hit the oil bracket. So we shaved the pump and the bracket down. Now it doesn’t bump on any thing but it doesn’t fit flush…
@@noahwooden2845 that’s weird where did you get your r90 pump. Bc I did loosen the bracket to the steering pump the curved L bracket so it was Easier. That’s weird it don’t fit I am sorry .
Let’s say your running a tune with your r70 and you want more power then you need a different tune for more fuel bc you will get a code just did everything at one’s and got a tune for a r90- link to my tune www.ecuprogram.com/
@@aznhuntax0 amazing and it’s a big difference worth it to go r90. Never had a problem and get good mpg 31 to 40 beating on it I get 22 which is still good r70 tho better mpg but still both have amazing power and are super reliable just your choice
@@dkgarage5131 Just got my r90, going to be installing it over the weekend. Did u ever get dyno figures on your tune from ecuprogram? Still need to decide on a tuner. Havent heard much about ECUProgram, is it their own custom tune or just reselling for other tuners?
thanks for the video, it was extremely helpful, did u guys have an issue with the r90 pump hitting any brackets? I just uploaded a video with my install but had to grind down the r90 a bit to get it to fit (this was after removing the oil filter housing bracket, was still hitting the one behind it).

No
Swap the rail sensor out for a 220MPA one and be amazed.
same on 535d e60 lci?
How did you hold the crank in place while you torqued down the nut for the pump?
My hand 😭
@@dkgarage5131 😂😂, you were actually able to hold it while the nut was torqued to 50ft-lbs?😂
@@gaminggyro8408 yes
@@dkgarage5131 bet! Ima give it a try
do you need new railpressure sensor with it or no?
Depends what tune you get
@@dkgarage5131so u can still use r70 sensor on r90? Its just will be less powerfull?

You have to take the 3 bolts out then you use the special tool tool to remove it
