$101.9 (£72.00) in the UK for 13.1 Gallons of regular diesel. If you want the "good stuff", add an extra £3. As for the diesel emissions, luckily we don't have the stringent tests the U.S.A. have, so what we lose in fuel costs we more than make up with savings in the emissions department.

This is a very informative video. ...For anyone about to go thru the DPF issue: see if you can have the filter cleaned [baked]. It will be way cheaper than the $4000 cost of the part alone.
DPF is designed to trap soot whilst in built up areas and burn it off on the highway. A good tip to prolong its life is a biannual dose of "wynns diesel gold treatment" or something similar as it dissolves carbon, also good for valve seats and so on. There are many faults that with throw up a code to prevent active generation taking place, this is usually when the DPF problems begin. To fix this the fault must be identified/rectified, then some "gold treatment" in the tank for a few days normal driving to let the chemical work and a highway blast to clear the blockage and bring down DPF back pressure which will allow the active regeneration cycle to be enabled via BMW DIS or such. I have done a few of these, unless the DPF light is red there really is no reason to delete, plus DPF removal is illegal here in the UK. I repaired to my own e90 330D four years ago this way and never had any trouble since, and I drive only 14 miles to and from work each day at very modest speeds.
How can you tell if a fault is stopping dpf Regen' from occurring ? We had a dog issue recently , needed new glow plugs as it uses them to get it up to temp' apparently, so , it goes again, but she does a lot of short journeys, I take it out for a longer drive on a fast road maybe once a week but the dpf light still comes on. Now and then. It's hard to tell if that's normal or if there's still a prob. It doesnt stay on constantly, just now and then . What do you reckon?

To be honest, I had been driving it very aggressively, so I probably broke it a bit earlier than it might have. I have the dose refined to a small water cup that I use as a measurer, because one bottle is six tanks full, at just over $1 per tank at Wal-Mart.
One (two) last thing I want to say about Manufacturers in general (sauf a few that try to resist but can't if they want to survive and not close shop) : - the whole "diesel polutes less therefore we will tax it less" in Europe (especially in France) was a lie. It was a major cover-up to make people buy "new" technology turbo diesel cars and bump sales up. Then… when sales caught up (and beat "reg gas" cars), the truth came out. Prices then started to come very close to each other at the pump. Even worse… people got stuck with vehicles that were overpriced when bought new and more expensive to maintain than "reg gas" ones. You can check, it's easy to do so. Compare the price of new cars between a 2.0 liter reg engine with a 2.0 tD, then check the difference in maintenance costs… add the ridiculously close prices at your fav gas station, then… you're stuck with a high-maintenance car that will annoy the heck out of riders stuck behind you. Even with your helmet closed, you can smell that stuff AND if you don't close that visor you get huge carbon particles thrown at your face (and eyes, quite dangerous, it happened to me)… The Gov't later admitted they lied about the numbers (what a shock, it made the news, then everyone forgot about that in less than a week because there was some big football game coming). - the second thing is the "xenon" lighting. Yes they're pretty, yes they make the road feel cooler (blue color, what a shock)… but that's about it. A good Halogen lighting will do a better jog at showing the road ahead and cost much… MUCH less. Another lie (this time from the showroom) to push people to buy this "it will be like daylight driving" costly option. I had to replace my left side balast… (the previous owner had something stupid done to the circuitry) ouch, my wallet sent an e-mail to my S2K on that one. All this to say… this : manufacturers DO influence lawmakers and bend numbers they "reveal" to the public. Just be smart about your choices and… enjoy tearing the tarmac the way YOU like it ! Anyway, sorry for all the ranting, but I don't like diesel for having been forced onto the market in Europe resulting in more cases of Asthma intown and riders having to wear protective eyewear inside their own helmets… enjoy the higher combustion efficiency though ;)
+G YO I also hate when the market is influenced by governments, so I can relate there. It's not really that you hate diesels, hey I don't like the smaller 4 bangers, it's that it was forced down the throats of consumers by European governments. In the US we had the opposite problem, CARB makes it very difficult to import diesels. In certain applications, diesels are great - mostly long distance mileage stuff, or in a truck. Gas is better in others.
FlyinGato agreed :) … wait… whaaaaat ? you don't like 4 bangers ? 1989, when the Vtec came out on the Civic and beat Renault (which was teamed up with Williams F1 and had come up with a street Clio version together) by a mile in power/displacement ratio ! I fell in love with what could be done with those little displacements. The F20C ! aaaaaaaw man… the 4GE… non ? ;)
I would love to own this car. I found a 335d for $11,500 with plus tax... 77K miles and it’s got the navy too. I would like to do a one time modification and retune/remap to remove the Emissions EGR systems. How much will that cost ?
FlyinGato I would basically like to take the car in and have the modifications done. Keeping the car relatively stock except the problematic parts and to free up the exhaust
FlyinGato I would consider taking it into BPC to have the car fully bypassed of all the problematic parts and dyno tuned. I would be doing occasional long distance drives and I would like the most I can get out of it with stock fuel pump and turbos and stock Intercooler.
About heater blower - its official recall. I also have to change one of the injector in my 2010 BMW 335D i would say thats +1 issue to the list of 5. My car exactly the same as yours except its not tuned .... Yet... I live in Canada and in our province we dont have emission regulations, so i cant wait to get it tuned.
You cant compare mpg in a civic gas to a bmw diesel, in europe we both have egr and particulate filter. Carbon build up is mainly caused by not driving the car like a diesel. Too many cold starts short trips etc. If the car is driven right the problems should first show later in the cars life
@@FlyinGato - I concur - its the single biggest source of grief on the car whether its something serious like the EGR Cooler valve spring breaking or something relatively trivial like a level sensor failure in the DEF tank . . . doesn't affect the cars performance but leaves the CEL illuminated and costs a lot of fix (although now there are cheaper fixes out there than the BMW $2000 tank replacement fix)
FYI, BMW of North America, LLC (“BMW NA”) extended the limited warranty for the SCR Active Tank to 10 years/120,000 miles as determined by the vehicle’s original in-service date.
FlyinGato Amen - if I lived in a state that didn’t perform emissions test I would have done this years ago. Been going back and forth on installing JBD II tune kit...stock engine is enough to get me into trouble as is (60-100mph is way too fun / effortless) but would love to push torque up to 500 lb/ft.
Excellent video and a very insightful review! The visuals and explanations for all the diesel systems were a great addition. I have my heart set on an E90 335d as my next daily. I plan on doing a full emissions delete and straight pipe exhaust, as well as a JR Stage 2.8 engine and trans tune with supporting mods (such as a bigger intercooler). Luckily I live in Michigan where we don't test for that, so I can get away with it! Thank you for all your 335d content, I've been watching all your videos and your content is fantastic! 👍
Emissions r not "way more" strict in USA. They r more strict for diesels but not that different. EU cares more about PM and USA cares more about nox. EU cars all had dpf and scr for a decade before USA cars did! For the price of BMW it should not have any of these issues. My 20k Chevy Cruze diesel doesn't have these issues!!! If u have so many issues why the hell
truth on that s2000 vtec solenoid gasket. i have to replace mine tmw :/ my vtec is currently non existent now. was a semi-intermittent problem. now its vanished for the past week altogether. beamer looks nice dude!
hey bud, basically, if it's under 80K miles, you're ok, you'll have to do all the maintanance and mods yourself, but the car should be in decent shape, if it has more than 80k miles, make sure the trans oil was changed (with filter), carbon cleanup, ABC deletes, possibly new battery, new vacumm hoses and the harmonic balancer as well
I have a 2011 335d sport. I would like to upgrade the rear bumper to an m sport one. However, I am not having any luck with finding anyone selling this. Any suggestion? Usually the places I find it does not have the urea outlet on the left side.
yea all cars get issues my '07 tacoma had some recalls and at one point i had to leave it at the dealer for 2 days so they could re-paint and undercoat the frame also had a vibration on the driver side somewhere in the floor board area never had a breakdown but finally traded it for my rebel
FlyinGato im not a big fan of diesel trucks unless its for commercial use plus when it gets real cold they can be hard to start need to be plugged in but id say the ram 2500 with cummings is the best
I've been wanting one of these for a little while but now I have to I'm hearing this it's not worth the money to put into it to keep it running for me so I might just go to a Volkswagen diesel
I am about to buy a 335d and I love your paddle shiffters. Are those stock paddles or where did you get them (and got them installed) here in Germany I can only find some ugly silver paddles, but your's looking amazing and sporty👌🏽
I have a bmw 2011 335d with 85000 miles. how can I fix the malfunction engine. whenever i'm driving it shows the "malfunction engine, reduce power" it slow down. i can't pass 20mph, please help me.thanks
dpfs fail due to certain error codes in ecu stopping engine regenerationswirl flap errors maf errors, glow plug errors ,one of main parameters that affect regen is engine temp,it needs a minimum temp of 74c ,the main thermostat(opening temp 88c) is the culprit as these fail ,many cars in time never get up to temp and wont regen ,some border on regen temp and oil level can increase due to diesel contamination as fuel is added on exhaust stroke ..just saying
I have a clogged DPF filter according to my tech guy, but first need to take care of carbon build up first, then see what codes stick around. Worried that if regen isn't happening DPF will eventually fail. How do I check engine temp? Can I just blast for 30-40 minutes on the highway to make sure it gets going?
MrYapie go to hidden menu (plenty of guides on you tube) and monitor coolant temp, should be 88c plus if not replace main and egr stats. Ask your tech your soot and ash mass values or get them your self with software ie carly
Pretty sure the only system this car uses in the US that it doesn't in Europe is the urea injection. Most cars and pretty much all diesels in the past 15 years have had EGRs. They can usually be cleaned, dealers of course push for a full replacement. And 4000 dollars for a DPF replacement? You people are insane! The dealers tell you this stuff is rocket science and you believe them lol
Sérgio Alves Sure other regions have EGR but the EGR ingestion rate is much higher here in the States for diesel vehicles due to CARB NOx limits. Makes all the difference.
@@xCobi - I had a vacuum pipe leak that prevented the small turbo from spooling up but once it was fixed the car ran fine. With any turbo engined car make sure you change the oil frequently - parts rotating at 30,000 rpm or more need good lubrication
But modifying the emissions system as we describe above is definitely illegal in CA. A lot of companies won't even ship parts that affect the emissions systems to CA.
Wondering how you even ended up here - The title pretty much says what you get. If you don't like informative content, theres surely some cat video for you.
Been driving a tuned 335d for 50K mikes and just now had the Harmonic Balancer (Crank Pulley) done -keep in mind you’ll need a special tool to remove that pulley. If you’re on Long Island, and want some info, my tech just went thru the process. Nice videos 👍🏼
Renato - did you replace your harmonic damper with an OEM part or did you upgrade using the Fluidampr unit available through AA Rodriguez? I have bought one of the Fluidampr units but haven't fitted it yet (waiting for warmer weather).
I live up in Ontario very close to JR Autotuning's shop and have found a local Indie shop in the area that is pretty good. This shop fitted a Bilstein B12 Pro-Kit for me and replaced all my rear sub-frame + various other bushings with Powerflex bushings for CD$1100 in labour which I considered very good. They also replaced my glow plugs, thermostat and water pump & serpentine belts very cost effectively so I'm considering simply taking it to them to have it done although from what I've read its a 2-3 hour DIY job which isn't too bad.
@@worksmarter6418 - yes. I bought it new in 2010 and am still running it (210,000 km). Fun car but its had its issues. This is not a car to own unless its had a full delete - do that and it will be relatively trouble free but as they get older things like the valve cover gasket will fail . . . mine hasn't failed yet but I'm about to replace it while I am not actually using the car that much (COVID). Its a fairly major job but as I no longer need the car to get to work and back I can take my time doing the job. Running a BMW is not for people who don't have a decent disposable income because even if you do a lot of the work yourself, the parts are not cheap. We own a 2007 VW Rabbit, the 2010 BMW 335d and a 2017 Acura MDX. Maintenance costs on the Rabbit have been about 30% of what they have been for the BMW. . . . .although some of the cost for the BMW has been upgrading certain things - I have Bilstein suspension and a lot of urethane bushings replacing the stock rubber ones. I stalled Fluidampr harmonic balancer . . .the part alone was over USD500.
Awesome! Btw I really enjoy your channel. One more thing that I did to my car that I haven't seen many people mention was the swirl flap delete. For anyone reading this who has no idea about the swirl flap delete, it costs about 40 bucks on fixmyvw.com and it was simple to do following bmac vag's video tutorial on it. When I did the delete I was astonished at how dangerous those swirling flaps seemed. One mechanical faiurel of one of these six swirl flappy things and you suddenly have bits of metal flying through your engine.
I would Recommend for the A6HP26Z....SL095 the Amsoil Signature Series Fuel-Efficient Synthetic Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATLPK-EA) Do the Research.. It the only trans fluid i know of with many million mile nothing but every 100,000 mile changes no problems. You can change All the fluid your self by undoing the return (the cooler of the two) line.. but before you do that.. Drop the Pan, Clean all and magnet too, replace filter, replace pan, fill with same amount taken out, hook a vinyl see tru line to trans return line & place into a bucket say 2 gal. Start & watch fluid.. If it runs dry no worry shut off & add more fluid.. Start & watch the fluid color change.. The second this happens Shut off button everything back up & make sure level is good (Note: If you dont have a dip stick the same amount that came out goes back in) Now Drive and Fear Not about your trans.. you just put the Best insurance policy known to man inside your Trans. Was thinking about getting one of these as a second daily driver. My other car is an '05 E320 CDI. After watching this, I think I'm good with just my car. Hearing how many issues and how much more complex these are than my E320 CDI is a deal breaker. I have my diesel for it's reliability.
@@FlyinGato oops meant out of buying one. What about that stuff you can put in the diesel to clear out the engine? Seafoam or whatever it's called? I found a 2011 navy blue one with a tan interior for $13,000 and it only has 58k miles on it here in northern california. I was looking for an e43 3 or e92 m3 v8 until i saw the 335d had much better gas mileage and perhaps longer durability but not so sure now.
@@FlyinGato the price and what i see online looks tempting at the 58k miles but that means it hasn't been driven much like mine and probably has a lot of carbon to clear out.
Didn't read any of the previous posts… sorry. However, being from Europe I know first hand what diesel CARS are all about… FRAUD. (and asthma) Diesel doesn't polute less… as a matter of fact "it" polutes more overall… and that FAP exhaust, like you had a really good hunch about… does NOTHING except cost more to the owner of the car… so… yeah, sorry. There is NO need for such torque numbers on a car when you know how to drive a regular car. If you need to move… rent a truck. If you transport people AND gear, it might make sense to drive a diesel… otherwise, please don't buy into marketing BS…
+G YO So the real reason I got diesel is because it's the best for long distance highway drives. The car is comfortable, has insane amounts of passing power, and gets me over 38 mpg with a range of 600 miles, which is perfect for me! The reason I tuned it is because, with the tune and mods, the car becomes dead reliable! As for other diesel cars, I don't like the little 4cyl diesel cars, I like the immense power of the inline 6 twin turbo. It's just a great package!
FlyinGato it is true that mpg is better on diesel… however, if I remember correctly, isn't diesel more expensive than reg gas in the US ? how does the ratio mpg/price per gallon compare between both reg gas and diesel ?
No gas powered BMW's run on regular gasoline - they all require premium 91 octane gas. In most places diesel is the same price or less than regular gasoline and certainly way less than premium gasoline. I am in Canada and diesel is cheaper than gasoline here . . . .at least most of the time
Jagshemasher What I meant by "reg gas" was "not diesel" as in English gas can be confused for many things ;) Anyway, when I lived in the US (quite a while back) diesel was more expensive than premium even more expensive than 93 octane in some cases. However, with market fluctuations, I was wondering if it were still the case. At that time only dual cab pick-up trucks would load on the stinky fuel.
Like what exactly? I would say its pretty spot on in identifying the main things that will fail on this car . . .my list was similar in fact I added a few more given my car has done 190,000 km

FlyinGato agreed :)
… wait… whaaaaat ? you don't like 4 bangers ?
1989, when the Vtec came out on the Civic and beat Renault (which was teamed up with Williams F1 and had come up with a street Clio version together) by a mile in power/displacement ratio ! I fell in love with what could be done with those little displacements. The F20C ! aaaaaaaw man… the 4GE… non ? ;)
+G YO I meant, 4 cylinder diesels, I love my F20C, best engine ever! 😁
I would love to own this car. I found a 335d for $11,500 with plus tax... 77K miles and it’s got the navy too. I would like to do a one time modification and retune/remap to remove the Emissions EGR systems. How much will that cost ?
Depends on if you're doing the work yourself
FlyinGato I would basically like to take the car in and have the modifications done. Keeping the car relatively stock except the problematic parts and to free up the exhaust
FlyinGato I would consider taking it into BPC to have the car fully bypassed of all the problematic parts and dyno tuned. I would be doing occasional long distance drives and I would like the most I can get out of it with stock fuel pump and turbos and stock Intercooler.
What would be the smartest decision? Stage 2.5 with dyno tune and full exhaust, EGR deleted and the couple other things?
Thats a great idea actually, buddy of mine drove his from Iowa to BPC, and he loved it
About heater blower - its official recall. I also have to change one of the injector in my 2010 BMW 335D i would say thats +1 issue to the list of 5. My car exactly the same as yours except its not tuned .... Yet... I live in Canada and in our province we dont have emission regulations, so i cant wait to get it tuned.
Which Province?
I lost my DPF cat and egr in a tragic accident
weird, I also lost mine in a very odd boating accident. Funny how these things disappear
You cant compare mpg in a civic gas to a bmw diesel, in europe we both have egr and particulate filter. Carbon build up is mainly caused by not driving the car like a diesel. Too many cold starts short trips etc. If the car is driven right the problems should first show later in the cars life
it's not just carbon build up though, all the emissions systems tend to fail quite spectacularly and often
Yea but everything else associated tends to break as well, best to just junk the whole system and let the car breathe!
The modifications are worth it simply to improve the reliability of the car
Just adding for anyone who lives in Canada - the SCR Active Tank warranty is 10 years 193,000 km
BMW 335d 125,000 miles fault for urea active tank return recommended additional diagnosis is what the dealer said any thoughts
All the emissions systems are likely on their way out at this age, time for a delete
When you did the ABC delete , did you put catless headers and if so, does the car smell bad on the inside?
I did and the car doesn't smell bad inside
Emissions r not "way more" strict in USA. They r more strict for diesels but not that different. EU cares more about PM and USA cares more about nox.
EU cars all had dpf and scr for a decade before USA cars did!
For the price of BMW it should not have any of these issues. My 20k Chevy Cruze diesel doesn't have these issues!!!
If u have so many issues why the hell
truth on that s2000 vtec solenoid gasket. i have to replace mine tmw :/ my vtec is currently non existent now. was a semi-intermittent problem. now its vanished for the past week altogether. beamer looks nice dude!
horse piss! gotta love that nitrogen count lol
haha!
Going to tell Jane that you like her bimmer!
damn thats janes whip with all that torque! shes gonna smoke both of us! lol
Great coverage of the 335d as always. Fixed 3 of the 5... deciding if I want to do the delete or sell it. Loved the car thus far.
Thanks Jason, ABC Delete, you'll love the car that much more
Hey I have a 2011 335d, do I need a swirl flap delete? Thanks
I recommend you get it
@@FjordTrotter I would concur . . . but do all the other stuff while you are at it
Hey man, any idea on what to look for when buying these cars? Im currently in the looks for one and i would greatly appreciate your info!
hey bud, basically, if it's under 80K miles, you're ok, you'll have to do all the maintanance and mods yourself, but the car should be in decent shape, if it has more than 80k miles, make sure the trans oil was changed (with filter), carbon cleanup, ABC deletes, possibly new battery, new vacumm hoses and the harmonic balancer as well
FlyinGato awesome I appreciate it thank you so much! 😊
I have a 2011 335d sport. I would like to upgrade the rear bumper to an m sport one. However, I am not having any luck with finding anyone selling this. Any suggestion? Usually the places I find it does not have the urea outlet on the left side.
probably should just delete the system
yea all cars get issues my '07 tacoma had some recalls and at one point i had to leave it at the dealer for 2 days so they could re-paint and undercoat the frame also had a vibration on the driver side somewhere in the floor board area never had a breakdown but finally traded it for my rebel
wow, unbelievable. I really want a diesel truck, you gotta help me out Bob! What should I get?
FlyinGato im not a big fan of diesel trucks unless its for commercial use plus when it gets real cold they can be hard to start need to be plugged in but id say the ram 2500 with cummings is the best
I've been wanting one of these for a little while but now I have to I'm hearing this it's not worth the money to put into it to keep it running for me so I might just go to a Volkswagen diesel
Please tell us wtf you hit at 12:18
It was a big pot hole
I am about to buy a 335d and I love your paddle shiffters. Are those stock paddles or where did you get them (and got them installed)
here in Germany I can only find some ugly silver paddles, but your's looking amazing and sporty👌🏽
mine came as an option on the sport package, it was not a common option unfortunately
@@FlyinGato okay thanks for replying👌🏽
and also into perhaps selling my 2004 325i with 49k miles on it before it's too late
you have a nice collection already. I would only get a 335d if you're going to delete and tune it
I have a bmw 2011 335d with 85000 miles. how can I fix the malfunction engine. whenever i'm driving it shows the "malfunction engine, reduce power" it slow down. i can't pass 20mph, please help me.thanks
Sounds like you have carbon build up or emissions equipments failure, are you anywhere near South PA? Take it to Kassel performance if you are
FlyinGato I live in Navarre, Florida
EGR valves are in every diesel since 1998 in Volkswagen engines 🤔
dpfs fail due to certain error codes in ecu stopping engine regenerationswirl flap errors maf errors, glow plug errors ,one of main parameters that affect regen is engine temp,it needs a minimum temp of 74c ,the main thermostat(opening temp 88c) is the culprit as these fail ,many cars in time never get up to temp and wont regen ,some border on regen temp and oil level can increase due to diesel contamination as fuel is added on exhaust stroke ..just saying
The dealers tell you this stuff is rocket science and you believe them lol
yea, it's easier for us just to not deal with the whole thing, it's all just one big annoyance.
Sérgio Alves Sure other regions have EGR but the EGR ingestion rate is much higher here in the States for diesel vehicles due to CARB NOx limits. Makes all the difference.
Think you forgot about 1 thing, i heard the small turbo can break pretty fast?
But thanks for the tips :) good to know when i will get my 335D
+RideAllDay I haven't heard the small turbo issue yet, but I'll look into it
you are right thats why the singleturbo r6 is the "better" choice but ist only available in europe/asia not for the us market
@@xCobi - I had a vacuum pipe leak that prevented the small turbo from spooling up but once it was fixed the car ran fine. With any turbo engined car make sure you change the oil frequently - parts rotating at 30,000 rpm or more need good lubrication
Nah never heard that
Is the 335D California legal?
It is
But modifying the emissions system as we describe above is definitely illegal in CA. A lot of companies won't even ship parts that affect the emissions systems to CA.
Only in the US we use piss to cool down an exhaust
can we remove the ser system completely
You mean the SCR? Yea I removed mine completely
Do you use any additives?
I don't
I sometimes add a cetane booster and injector cleaner
Couldn't be arsed to watch past 3 min too much rambling.
Wondering how you even ended up here - The title pretty much says what you get. If you don't like informative content, theres surely some cat video for you.
@@BatLB lol. Meow
Pig piss actually It;s called Add Blue in the UK.
You need to use a mic. The sound quality poor and hard to hear you.
Do you really mean that, Dpf replacinv costs 3-4000$??? I think you mean 3-400$ . You can exchange the dpf.
If you go to a BMW dealer, that's what you'd get quoted
Nobody goes to the stealer😜
Y - they are about $3500 - if anyone finds a cheaper source of DPF's please post
Things that will break in your BMW, everything. Lol
+WingKing76 haha, Break My Wallet
Been driving a tuned 335d for 50K mikes and just now had the Harmonic Balancer (Crank Pulley) done -keep in mind you’ll need a special tool to remove that pulley. If you’re on Long Island, and want some info, my tech just went thru the process. Nice videos 👍🏼
Renato - did you replace your harmonic damper with an OEM part or did you upgrade using the Fluidampr unit available through AA Rodriguez? I have bought one of the Fluidampr units but haven't fitted it yet (waiting for warmer weather).
I'm actually looking for a good tech to do it for me, I don't have the time with so many other projects going on
I live up in Ontario very close to JR Autotuning's shop and have found a local Indie shop in the area that is pretty good. This shop fitted a Bilstein B12 Pro-Kit for me and replaced all my rear sub-frame + various other bushings with Powerflex bushings for CD$1100 in labour which I considered very good. They also replaced my glow plugs, thermostat and water pump & serpentine belts very cost effectively so I'm considering simply taking it to them to have it done although from what I've read its a 2-3 hour DIY job which isn't too bad.
what year is your 335d?
It's a 2011
Ive recently become interested in buying a 335d but I notice that some have the dash screen/nav/toggle wheel & some dont, how come?
Mine was a 2010 - put on the road in April 2010
Sounds like you need a Lexus is350 so you can drive while everything else is broke
I am seriously considering a Lexus as a next car. I used to think of them as girly cars but after all my repair bills my views have changed :)
@@Jagshemasher you have a 335d?
Do they have a 335d coupe?
not in america, I think they do in Europe
335 e90 is a 4 door sedan
335 e91 is a 4 door station wagon
335 e92 is a 2 door coupe
thank you!

I like to preface my videos with other information so you get the whole story, hard to do in a 10 minute video but I try ☺️️☺️️☺️️
You talk good. Thanks
Do some reasearch on transmission fluid and filter change. Theres a weird bmw conspiracy about "lifetime fluids". Also powersteering fluid and filter.
+Sebastian Howard oh for sure, I've changed mine already, must do every 70k miles or less
Yea I have to look into that swirl flap delete.
I would Recommend for the A6HP26Z....SL095 the Amsoil Signature Series Fuel-Efficient Synthetic Automatic Transmission Fluid
(ATLPK-EA) Do the Research.. I'll say the same about the Diff use Amsoil Severe Gear® 75W-90 and Never worry about your diff or bearings.. Thanks guys & i am Seriously thinking about getting me a 335D and do or have done all the Mods.. What a Great Car and Hats off to FlyinGato for the Great Video!!
Was thinking about getting one of these as a second daily driver. My other car is an '05 E320 CDI. After watching this, I think I'm good with just my car. Hearing how many issues and how much more complex these are than my E320 CDI is a deal breaker. I have my diesel for it's reliability.
yea
keep that mercedes its much better than bmw
Who can do the ABC delete and a stage 2.8 in new york?
Not sure - Gato recommended a place in PA. In Oakville ON Canada JR can do it . . .depends if you are close to Buffalo or NYC
Is it bad to delete dpf and egr as far as reliability?
You need to do it for reliability, it makes the car nearly bulletproof
FlyinGato Alright thanks👌🏻
you're talking me about buying one of these lol
I love mine!
If you don't tune and delete it the emissions components break down quickly unfortunately
@@FlyinGato the price and what i see online looks tempting at the 58k miles but that means it hasn't been driven much like mine and probably has a lot of carbon to clear out.
That's likely true, but with these cars 4 grand makes them bulletproof and super fast
European diesel is amongst the best in the world. American diesel however is crap.
Love me that inline 6 Diesel
Sounds like a Mack truck
Love the sound! I drive with the window down just to hear it sometimes lol!
Didn't read any of the previous posts… sorry.
However, being from Europe I know first hand what diesel CARS are all about… FRAUD. (and asthma) Diesel doesn't polute less… as a matter of fact "it" polutes more overall… and that FAP exhaust, like you had a really good hunch about… does NOTHING except cost more to the owner of the car… so…
yeah, sorry.
Absolutely right
FlyinGato it is true that mpg is better on diesel… however, if I remember correctly, isn't diesel more expensive than reg gas in the US ? how does the ratio mpg/price per gallon compare between both reg gas and diesel ?
No gas powered BMW's run on regular gasoline - they all require premium 91 octane gas. In most places diesel is the same price or less than regular gasoline and certainly way less than premium gasoline. I am in Canada and diesel is cheaper than gasoline here . . . .at least most of the time
Jagshemasher What I meant by "reg gas" was "not diesel" as in English gas can be confused for many things ;)
Anyway, when I lived in the US (quite a while back) diesel was more expensive than premium even more expensive than 93 octane in some cases. However, with market fluctuations, I was wondering if it were still the case. At that time only dual cab pick-up trucks would load on the stinky fuel.
So much wrong information in the video
Like what exactly? I would say its pretty spot on in identifying the main things that will fail on this car . . .my list was similar in fact I added a few more given my car has done 190,000 km
I really try but I cannot listen tho this guy talk, is so much talking for no reason.
Sorry about that.
Moral of the story. Don’t buy any BMW ever.
haha, basically, unless you're willing to do a lot of mods
Fortune Cookies Bullshit
FlyinGato Bullshit
Once modified this car works superbly and will last forever. I had a 1995 325iS that was still going strong with over 200,000 miles on it
