- I ran in to a problem with the seat installation due to the stringers being directly under the seat frame mounting points and this was my fix. 5/16 aluminum sheet from the recycling center was $11. The seat studs are tapered seat flat head screws countersunk under the aluminum for a smooth mating surface with the deck..
@staceyanddee how has the wise swing back seat held up? I'm about to order one. Any more video or content about it is hard to find.
Still holding up well, hard to believe it's been 7 years now.
How tall is it from the floor to the seat cushion?
The boat is covered right now.
what kind of bolts did you use to mount the seat rails to the aluminum plate? looks like it would have to be some type of flat or flush mount in order for the plate to sit level or flush to the bottom of the floor. Also did you just use a regular type screw to mount the plate to the floor? I have a similar seat as yours on my Carolina skiff dlv but without a plate attached and the screws have pulled out of the floor from people leaning back too hard on the seat so I am looking for a fix.
man, I cannot remember. I'll have to get up in the boat and take a closer look. But I can tell you that the aluminum plates were through bolted and I did put washers and nuts on the underside. I have an access hole where I can get my arm under there to do that.
That’s going to be my issue. I don’t have any way to access under the floor. Thanks for the reply!
Maybe stainless toggle bolts
Toney Evett what did you end up using ? I have the same issue too, I saw a video with some dude using toggle bolts, what did you end up using?
