I’d never heard of Fowey before - how beautiful!

Join us for our Fowey Cornwall UK Tour - filmed in July 2021. This beautiful port town is on the River Fowey. Legend has it, that Jesus visited Fowey as a child along with Joseph of Arimathea. Fowey is part of the Cornish Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and you can take a ferry across the river to Polruan or Bodinnick if you want to go further afield. There’s a good few historic buildings in the town - the ruins of St Catherine's Castle being one of them. Hope you enjoy the walk….

Hi, again 👋. Fowey, Cornwall !! Another spot full of character. An interesting mix of quite noble buildings among the simpler ones ! All seemingly doing well in the summer season 👍. Hope Madeira is working out well 🌸 ⛰ 🏨 ☀️ 🌊🌊🌊 . Cheers, Don 😊

hello Don, indeed it is. I’d certainly recommend you get yourself back here. It feels safe, well organised, welcoming and warm. How nice it would be for our trips to coincide and have the chance to share a cold beer and a pastel de nata with you.

Hi ! Sounds great, nice idea !!👍. We traveled a lot during our working lives. Our plan was to continue travel a good deal in retirement, but family commitments don’t allow time away just now, which is ok too 😃. I look forward to seeing some of your time back on Madeira 👍. All the best, Don 🙋‍♂️

What is the temperature in July? Does it ever snow there? In a couple of months I will be shoveling snow. Our temperatures in July is usually in the 80's, maybe 90's. Nice, because we have a wonderful lake to enjoy.
Your Living Walks are wonderful. Documenting history. Hi from Sandpoint, Idaho USA.

Hi there HD, the weather generally in the uk is at its best in July and august. Pleasantly warm and dry. If it does snow it’d only be likely between November to February but the uk is really quite moderate weather wise. hope you come to visit sometime. it would be great to meet.

Small point of order: the chain would not have been raised "in times of war" to stop enemy ships entering the harbour - there were two heavy duty artillery pieces in the castle at St Catherine's point to stop them. The chain would be raised whenever _any_ ship entered the harbour and would only be lowered again once a tax had been paid by the ship, hence the beach called Readymoney cove at the mouth of the estuary.
