The nature of Southern California is seriously underrated. Tourists go by what they see on the freeways and in the cities but go out into the canyons, the woods, the deserts, the mountains. Just gorgeous. Canyons exits in the cities too if you know where to look.
I have only been to northern CA and was blown away by the beauty. I would like to visit southern CA, but am more interested in the rural areas than the urban.
In addition to being a great actor, Bryan Cranston has the most incredible voice. It is practically musical. Gotta add that Breaking Bad has my favorite finale of all time! I watched the series binge style with my daughter when she was recovering from mono. My elderly parents had a blast watching it. So many great actors and wonderful writing. What a series!
Its probably my favorite series of all time. I know so many have said this before, but I wish I could turn back time so I could watch it for the first time all over again!
Acting is near entirely about looks and voice. Skill has a small percentage. Writing, production, and direction is everything. Overrated professions overall.
One of the best Hiking with Kevin episodes yet! Bryan is so multifaceted, and Kevin you have such a fun interview style. These are real questions, not ones a guest can prepare for. I was desperately waiting for a Tim Whatley quote or reference 😂
It warms my heart a bit to see how Mr. Cranston greets the kids whose eyes are probably bugging out of their heads lmao. They looked so excited to have seen him out on the trail when they turned around.
Nice to be back on the trail again! Bryan is a great hiking companion--he's game for whatever Kevin throws at him. "I knew you weren't a professional long ago" --ha! 🙂 Speaking of Vince Gilligan, I think he'd be a good guest for a future expedition. Until next time, happy trails!
I enjoyed that interview Kevin. Breaking Bad will go down as an all time great drama like The Sopranos. Bryan crushed that role. I think his guest appearance on Seinfeld was hilarious as well! Great to you both for getting out there and exercising at 70 and 67 too.
Great ep! Bryan is an absolute treasure of a human being. 💓 It always shocks me how genuine and humble he seems, despite his immense talent. I’m a huge fan!
Kevin. Your charcoal sketch bit is an amazing American comedy classic. Your timing, and the way it was written and performed are superb. It is timeless and could be a classic at any time in the past and far into the future. Genius.
That was one of the best of Kevin's hikes to date. Bryan Cranston comes across as a good guy with a clever sense of humor while Kevin seems to pick these very narrow paths which make it a real challenge for his guests to lope along.
Yay what a lovely surprise! My fave Bryan Cranston cameo is in the movie Clean Slate (it's a lost 90's gem), where he's a snippy tennis court attendant with like, 3 lines. He steals the scene. No small roles.😉👌 Thanks for another one! 💗✨
First time seeing hiking with Kevin and it was great! Love how he thought Woody Allen had a stroke and it was due to the playback speed lol! Also the look on those kids face when they realized they just walked by brian Cranston was priceless!
Proper respect to Bryan, every person I've seen that worked with him, or had a random encounter, or knew him from many years ago all say he's not only a very nice guy but endlessly fascinating to talk with because of his passion for life itself.
Bryan should do a documentary on Gordon Lightfoot ! It would be a smash hit for sure. Sundown, If you could read mind, Rainy day people, The reck of the Edmund Fitzgerald ….. RIP Gordon
That was great. I'm embarrassed to say how many times I've seen Breaking Bad. I write so the script grabbed me from the beginning, the best writing I've ever had the pleasure to view. Mr Cranston - my fave Malcom in the Middle episode that made me cry until I almost peed myself - when you were a speed walker - AMAZING - that episode was a great cure for my worst day - THANK YOU SO MUCH! kevin - you are the coolest thank you for these episodes you are AMAZING also.
At the beginning - Kevin meets a fan. The fan calls it Hiking with Nealon. Kevin corrects him. Fan asks for a selfie and Kevin totally destroys him by walking away. That right there is funny as hell. First episode I’ve seen but I hope it’s not a running gag.
As a 65 year old boomer, love to see Bryan with 70 yo young Kevin hiking together. Fun funny interesting conversation as always Mr Nealon and Mr Cranston. Thank you guys
I remember seeing the first breaking bad episode in like 2008. At the time, my house got the AMC channel for free. I thought it was interesting, but went on with my life. I rewatched the series in like 2015 and was amazed at how good it was. Cranston is one of the best actors ever.
Bryan Cranston just explained why his performance on the Godzilla movie was so overacted at that emotional breakdown part - he was exhausted from holding at that emotional point all day! He is such a good actor, it really was surprising.
Great episode. I am very impressed that you can do such a good interview on the way up the hike. I would be very out of breath. Save the hard questions for the downhill ;-)

my first introduction to Brian Cranston was as Hal in malcolm in the middle, he was so funny when Hal would go into panic mode... I remember laughing my ass off... it was years later he absolutely blew my mind as Walter white when I began watching breaking bad on AMC when season one premiered. He is easily one of my top five actors for the range of character.

I even have Heisenberg/W.W. merch~ now I'll have to buy his Mezcal...I mean, Walt and Jessie's Mezcal😅
Watching the moment the fan ran into Kevin made me visualize running into both of these guys on a hike throughout this entire video. The anxiety I created in my mind about this non-existent situation that I would say something awkward or be mad at myself for saying nothing at all has me questioning myself as a man. Anyway, big fan guys! Hope you don’t have a bad weather out there… or I mean, cool hats….
I love Breaking Bad…still watch the series all the way through. The ending was good…but Vince did talk about turning Walter White into a character like Scarface…in my opinion, Gus was more like Scarface than Walter at his height. I think maybe the role with Walter as Kingpin could have been explored more. None the less…Breaking Bad is still the best show on TV.
Always a pleasure... I like the pat on the back Bryan gave Kevin... While a standard gesture of affection, it somehow looks especially cool coming from Walter White...
