    Amazing review!
I am looking to buy my first board and I am considering the YES Basic. I can confidently do skidded turns on blue groomers, but can't yet carve. I am looking for an all-mountain board that I can take into the park if needed. I am 5'4, 120 lb with a size 7 boot. Do you think the YES Basic is for me? What size board should I get? Any thoughts on pairing this with NOW IPO bindings?

Many thanks and sorry for the slow response. Yes the Basic 146 could work if you want a centered mtn freestyle to park ride. Just to clarify are you 7 mens or womens? if it's a 7 womens go 143. IPO's work well with that board if you have stiff sole boots. If you want to get into it more hit me up here to give me the info I need to properly help. shop.thegoodride.com/merchandise/gear-advice/

    GREAT review, very thorough, TY.
Mid-life board (or post mid life)
Intermediate on 20+ year old board, very stiff with little sidecut,
Size 8.5 DC Control Step ons
    Burton Genesis
    130 lbs. soaking wet
    A scant 5’6”
Groomers, blacks only if good snow - and mostly riding the East Coast (Vt. Mass NY)
Basic or Basic Uninc 149 or 151? TY!

For sure go Basic Uninc. Much better, base, construction, pop, more camber, better directional float and all around ride. For sizing it depends on what you are used to and with your Genesis you have no stance width adjustability for the set back inserts so go with the size that better fits your stance width. If you are closer to 20.5" wide and like more control go 149. If you are closer to 21" and want more speed/float/carving power go 152. You can handle both as this board runs softer than it's flex rating.

Awesome videos! I'm an intermediate rider: 5'10/ 190-195lbs/ 9.5 US boot size
I ride about 10 days a year. Almost entirely groomers, like to carve and occasionally ride switch. Don't care much for the park. I’d like a great “do it all well enough”, easy-riding and forgiving board that’s still fun. Which of the following would you recommend?
    - Yes Basic (158 or 156W)
    - Yes Greats uninc (greats not available)
    - Ride Twin pig (154)
    - Capita outerspace living (158)
    - something else?

Thanks! So based on what I know I would instead look at the Basic Uninc 158, Yes Standard 156 or Ride Shadowban. Those are much more versatile for what you want to do because you can set it back in powder. If you want to do this properly hit me up here. thegoodride.com/snowboard-binding-and-boot-advice/

Yes says that if you are 11 or over they highly recommend getting a wide. Here's what it says on their website sizing guidlines: *"We at YES. encourage you to have fun when you snowboard. We want you to feel joy. Aren’t we awesome? In conclusion: If you have a size US 10-10.5 / MONDO 26.5-27.5 boot, then please, seriously consider a wide. If you have a size US 11 / MONDO 28.5 boot, do not ever consider anything other than a wide when looking at these “traditional” models."*

    Hi, great vid!
i've lost count of the times i've watched this video ahah. I am a beginner (maybe high end beginner, went snowboarding 5 times last season) and i am debating between the Yes Basic and the Yes Typo. I plan on riding around 10 times a year at most, and looking for a do it all board (mostly groomers, and no park) i can progress on and not outgrow. I am leaning towards the Basic since i like to ride switch a lot but i figure the Typo will be better once i get beyond the beginner phase. Am i right? Or do you think the Basic will get the job done as an all-mtn/freestyle even for an intermediate (and maybe up) level rider? What do you guys suggest?
P.S: i am 5'10", 165 lbs, size 11.5 US boots. My choice would be 156W.
    Thanks for your time guys!

Thanks Thomas. So if you want a board you won't outgrow go Basic Uninc 156w. That rides better than both and has set back inserts for powder. If you have a full sized disc you can get much better directional float with the Basic Uninc. If it is just between the Basic and Typo you might like the Typo a little better because it is a little stiffer and it isn't that much more directional. It rides switch really well too.

@@thegoodridesnow thanks for the reply, it really helps. Here were I live the Typo is 60/100€ more than the Basic. Since I am not planning on riding pow that much do you think it s still worth to spend the extra money and get the Typo over the Basic? Or the difference between the two aren’t that massive and I will just be fine on the Basic? Thank you so much once again, and keep up the good work!

No prob. Basic vs Typo go Basic. Basic Uninc vs Basic and Typo go Basic Uninc if you want something to last a lot longer as you progress. The Uninc has better pop, a better base and is just better all around. If you do get a good pow day it will be worth it to have those set back inserts too.
