Jack is so freaking cool. I love it when a huge musician likeJack help develop a new “signature” anything that really encompasses their sound and is priced at a very affordable value. He could have done the same thing thru another manufacturer and slapped a $500 price tag on it. Thanks Jack! You’re the real deal.
It feels like this legitimises Donner. I mean, I own 2 of their pedals, but only because they were cheap. This pedal and the Third Man endorsement makes Donner a real player!
I own a couple Donner pedals and wireless systems and they have all performed well over a six year period. This will help them get recognized for sure.
I jumped on this vid when I saw the guitar.! Believe it or not, it's a Hohner! I bought mine exactly because of the cutaways. The model I bought had 27 frets, HS configuration, a 4+2 headstock and a fancy passive 2-band tone circuit. Never thought I'd see one randomly turn up on a gear demo video!
@@andrewmsmith1969 Is it not a Revelation? (Headstock says it is) I don't think they are anything to do with Hohner, but could be wrong. I've had a few Revelations and they are amazing value.
I was on the Amazing Race where a few hundred of us played 7 nation for about 8 hrs for the episode. That was a fun day. Loved your take on it for the intro. Well done as always 🤘🏼
Love Donner pedals, I built an entire board with their stuff but selling it off because I just got a Helix LT. Jack White is also my favorite guitar player!
@cchavez248 I only practice for church and we use the helix patches exclusively. I play at home with headphones and at church through their board I really don't have a use for it.
@@Tool0GT92 kk, I just know that many players get rid of their pedalboards after getting Helix, are completely happy for a few years, and then regret getting rid of the pedals. At least they're not expensive pedals that would be difficult and expensive to replace. 👍😎
BALL AND BISCUIT! F*ck im a a jack white fan and now donner give us the opportunitty to have a JW taste for a low price. Also its really cheap to order for here in mexico. Thanks man for giving me the news!
Thanks so much for sharing, this pedal represents excellent value for money and is the kind of pedal that could be taken to gigs without the threat of not being able to replace it if it gets the 5 finger discount before or after a gig. Nice playing and great overview of the tones and colour you can get out of this pedal. The Samurai guitarist has also given this one a solid thumbs up and gosh golly darn it, I think I might have yo go one simply because it stops cable links in the signal chain I would have with 3 seperate pedals. Who knows, this could become guitar pedal of the year.
I like that the distortion gives off such Big Muff tones the more gain or tone you add, like that’s awesome and that Seven Nation Army-inspired riff at the beginning sounded equally as badass. Definitely considering taking that for myself, that was sick
Interesting. If someone asked what effects I thought of as signature sounds of Jack White, first thing I would have thought are octave fuzz and octave down.
jack white is a uniquely interesting guitarist - i might have to get one of these since it's multiple pedal effects id actually use with less cables going in and out
I used the silver donner alpha chain reverb delay and modulation for 6 years of outdoor gigs near the ocean and it just recently stopped working. Unfortunately they don't make that one anymore.
So I have the unit that they brought out previously which has delay chorus and distortion on it and it sounds meaty as hell. The big plus is its analogue so imo sounds way better than digital. It sounds amazing for the price tag!
I love this pedal! I would use it for System of a down songs because they use a lot of distortion and Daron uses a phaser and an echo for live performances! You know what would be great if they made a Donner pedal like this one but had other effects like: Tremelo, Flanger, Chorus, wah wah, and digi-tech whammy.

The echo is definitely the standout effect in here. It may just be that I’ve been spoiled at this point but the distortion and phaser are both ok but not what I would call “good.” But I would also pay the price of the whole unit for that echo standalone, so it’s very hard to complain. Beginner guitarists don’t know how lucky they are to have these options.
Oh, the donner pedal? Dude, my friend got that one, it's like bringing Dimebag and Cliff to the same show, a lot of noise and saturation, really love it. They also have the other double pitch shifter which sounds like an alien. It's like a high guitar and a bass is following your melody, and straight manipulate the frequency, distort, fuzz, you name it. Actually these are the kind of products that make me question why i want modelers. Then again resources are limited.
You’re playing a Fuchs Full House 50! I own one have you reviewed it? I love mine into Two Note Captor X (for living room). I’d be anxious to watch, thanks!
I like it but I wish each each effect had its own separate input/output similar to the devils triad pedal. Just bc if you want to run other effects to your amp as well you’d be able to better choose placement
Although I do kinda wish the phaser chain placement could be switched between where it’s currently at or in front. Typically for me personally? I tend to prefer a phaser up front before any gain/distortion. Regardless tho? This is a great product idea IMO. Man, kids these days have it made! Back in my day? I had to make due with a Crate combo and a Zoom 505. Ha!
ONLY thing i wish it had were expression jacks for the echo and phaser rates, but i understand it would potentially add a cost, and if Jack didn't want it, that's why it ain't there!
That is a Hohner Revelation from the early 90s. They first came out with a 27 fret neck an 4+2 tuner headstock that they were sued by Music Man and had to use 6 in line soon after. The one in the video is a 3 single coil RTS model, and there was a RTX version with a humbucker and a sc. Both with floating Wilkinson trem and a roller nut
Just wondering if you ever play any of the old 50s or 60s style rock, it would sound good on that, like some of the hits of that era, It would give that music a new sound.
That distortion sounds like a blown speaker playing on ten from the neighbour's house. There's a few garbage sounding distortions out there. Raw Peavey amps, for example... lol . Or "heavy metal pedal" that people seem to like. But, you're right about one thing...nothing beats good distortion through digital delay. A touch of chorus.. a hint of reverb... and "mooowah". Angelic. hahaha !!
Very cool. It's on the list now. Did they ever catch that gorilla that escaped from the zoo and punched you in da eye? (seriously though, did they catch the bottle thrower?)
Distortion, Phase and Echo is kind of similar to a Jimmy Page rig and feels close to his tone. I’d love to see them do more setups like this with other guitarists
