From the Hulk episode "Never give a trucker an even break." I hear Spielberg was furious over the footage the Hulk producers used and wanted to sue their asses off.
This would have been awesome to edit into rental VHS copies of Duel back in the day just to hear people talking about how they didn't see the end coming and watch people look at them like they were crazy talking about how Dennis Weaver hulked out. They would have thought they were high or it was an M Night Shamalan movie.
It blends well, but as well as Spielberg not being happy that footage was used in Hulk, it was too obviously taken from it and recent in people's memories at the time. Especially with Duel being such a success for what was originally a TV movie.
I saw this episode of Hulk back in 1978 when it was first shown. I was 13 and had never seen or heard of Duel, so I thought this was a really great episode and wondered why all episodes of Hulk couldn't be this good and have this much action and vehicle stunts.
The original Hulk series with Lou Ferrigno used clips from duel in one of its episode. I saw it when they reran the series to promote the, then new, movie.
@kimv020887 I am watching it right nov on tv, i had no clue but i recognized the truck and looked this up, they took a lot of cenes from Duel and incorporated them in a episode of the hulk! Amazing what lowbudget can do!
"Some of the scenes were later used as stock footage in The Incredible Hulk: Never Give a Trucker an Even Break (1978) an episode of "The Incredible Hulk". Obvious scenes used were the red Valiant slamming into the fence, the use of the same phantom truck in new TV footage, and the use of a similar Valiant in new TV footage. Unhappy by the discovery that footage from the movie was recycled, and unable to sue because the studio owned both the film and Hulk series, Steven Spielberg insisted that all his future contracts have a clause designed to protect his films from being used as stock footage. " - IMDb
@@wesleycook7687 Well there was only one truck when the tv version of Duel was made. Two others were hired to film the additional scenes for the theatrical version, one of which was reused to film scenes for The Incredible Hulk episode. The other truck which wasn't used at all in either media is the one that still remains today.
@@wesleycook7687 An interesting side note about the red Valiant. At least one used in the Hulk episode was a 3 speed on the column instead of automatic. In the scene where David first hotwires the car you can see the clutch pedal while he is under the dashboard playing with the wires.
@@wesleycook7687 No there was only 1 truck while they filmed the TV version of Duel. Spielberg himself says this in Duel's making documentary. There was no backup truck so they had to film the truck going over the cliff in one take. Here's the link: ruclips.net/video/eKKd8z-3GXo/видео.htmlsi=Pp8VgVJA1rLWzcbb But it is true, 2 other trucks were found for the theatrical version, one of which survives today. 1 other truck was hired for The Incredible Hulk episode (none of the original trucks were re-used for The Incredible Hulk (something I got wrong in my original comment)).
@@MrDanielNewton I was talking about the movie version not the TV show. However, the same footage of the truck going over the cliff is the same in the movie and TV shows..
I don't think they paid Spielberg anything to rip off his movie. He was said to be infuriated that it had happened and took action to prevent it from happening again.
Universal are so cheap!! this is called the.. We're out of money budget episode so lets rape one of our old movies and mash it up with our hero... episode. They did this with Airport 75 too. Economical but so bloody cheap.
This was part of an Incredible Hulk episode where they used scenes from Duel. Universal owned the rights to both (Stephen Spielberg was not too happy about it) So they used the duel scenes and filmed the Hulk scenes and put them together for the episode.
I used to watch "The Hulk" on occasion, back in the day, & remember seeing this episode & thinking, "Hey, those are scenes from "Duel." Of course, Dennis Weaver wasn't shown-just Bill Bixby getting more & more agitated as the car started to overheat, & then....
Duel movie in November 13,1971 was red plymouth valiant the David mann was on the top of the mountain. The incredible hulk season 1 episode 7 Never give a trucker an even break
Like in that Jason movie where it shows his mask at the end lying in the dirt and all of a sudden Freddy's arm reaches out of the ground and brings it down and the whole audience was like "What the fuck? No wai! OMGZZZZZ!!!11111oneoneone" then a decade later they made Freddy Vs Jason...and it sucked noodles.
@ojideagu yes it is kind of a animal it is T rex that is steven speilburgs favorite dinosaur just watch the features he does say it infact i watched 2 days ago and i checked to see if it was what you said and it was a T rex JAWS was godzilla i mixed it up
@ojideagu its not a elephant roar because steven speilburg said so him self during the special features watch the features it is also kind of interesting
When I first saw this movie. I thought to myself. Why didn’t he just turn around and go home. Instead of going to his meeting. He already stated that he was going to be late for his meeting anyways. The truck would have waited all day for him and he home with his wife and kids.
That was dissapointing I thought a better ending might be that Dennis (God rest him) had taken his drycleaning and forgot to collect his change... Trucker was only trying to get his attention and hand it over!
In both movie even cars and mechanical beast is like nothing is different at all killer truck still fine none different car is none different in both movie

They didn't get his permission first?
@MisterMikeTexas this was the reason for that being in his contracts
Get lost Hulk you got your own show.
I Agree
No. This was an actual episode of Hulk
The incredible hulk season 1 never give a trucker an even break. David turns the hulk

Yup
It blends well, but as well as Spielberg not being happy that footage was used in Hulk, it was too obviously taken from it and recent in people's memories at the time. Especially with Duel being such a success for what was originally a TV movie.
Cool! the Incredible Hulk put an end to the truckers road madness.

I know. This was stock footage added to the Hulk TV series. I've seen it before. At least they kept the original sounds from the movie.
Note that the car goes from being just on fire to being completely burnt out in about 2 seconds....
I like both David when he use his brief case to ram the duel truck in one person and the hulk push to ram the duel truck in two persons.
This was done because universal used scenes from the movie Duel in the TV show The Hulk.
+w w murtagh From what I read Steven Spielberg was none to happy about footage of his movie being used in The Incredible Hulk.
+Keon Jenkins yeah he was real pissed about it. I think he turned green n ripped all his clothes off.

Ya know, most the time these sorts of bait and switch videos are bunk. This one looks real and took some doing. Thanks for not wasting my time.
Mr. Lofton, don't make me angry. You wouldn't like me when I get angry.
0:42 door is torn off but when the car is drivin torwards the truck you see it on
this was actually a Hulk episode. the whole episode was just scenes from Duel. it was pretty stupid if you ask me.

That’s The Same Scene Where The Incedible Hulk Episode Truckers Give A Break If I’m Not Mistaken
That's the one!
I Remember Watching I Seen Where Edited Both Of The Movie And The Incredible Hulk Episode They Made It Dennis Weaver Turn Into The Hulk
OMG! I had to look this up and see if it was true! Lmao! This is gold! In a very campy way! They didn’t even try to hide it!
This was part of an Incredible Hulk episode where they used scenes from Duel. Universal owned the rights to both (Stephen Spielberg was not too happy about it) So they used the duel scenes and filmed the Hulk scenes and put them together for the episode.

The Incredible Duel - Hulk style.
incredible hulk show used scenes from duel and spielbergs mind bent over it.. true story
This is a mix between the film "Duel" and a chapter of Hulk that used parts of it
Fortunately, they didn't go for this pathetic ending, it would have trashed a good suspense thriller !!!
adolfo herrera Are you stupid or something? Seriously?
You know reading these comments I knew someone would actually take it seriously and adolfo is the one. Congrats Adolfo you're stupid.
Ha-ha! Your pretty smart huh.
Spielberg went with the other ending because the Hulk soiled his pants during the scene
I remember the episode well. Ripping off the film 'duel'
@radbasstist1234 ....that's not Chuck Norris, it's Dennis Weaver.
Hanno usato il finale di un capolavoro per questa cagata di telefilm.
I LOVE USA!!! I LOVE FILM!!! HUNGARIA!!!
This remix to the ending of Duel is so freaking cool!! With the hulk being the one that finally kills that assh*le truck driver!!!😅👍👍
First time a tanker didn't explode going over a cliff
Ford Pinto GasTank 💨
Now appearing - Brody in Jaws turns into The Hunk and eats Bruce!
They could splice Jaws scenes into a Gilligan's Island episode.
Never give a trucker an even break
Spielberg should be proud to have his footage deemed worthy of the Hulk
Nice editing job---made me laugh out loud--well done!
I remember this episode of the hill when they used the same car and truck...I could help laughing cause I just saw duel recently
MC CLOUD!!!!!!!!!!
Es gab die Folge in echt bei Hulk die Serie mit dem selben Truck und Story!

I think most folks would have a problem with David Mann suddenly, and from nowhere having the ability of turning into Hulk!
Good editing. 100% believable and flawless.
@hammr25 He had to hold his temper to the end otherwise the movie would have only been a few minutes long lol.
Ha ha funny ....but after all that he finally got ticked off enough to hulk out on the trucker ???
That was dissapointing I thought a better ending might be that Dennis (God rest him) had taken his drycleaning and forgot to collect his change... Trucker was only trying to get his attention and hand it over!
en un capitulo del increible hulk hicieron una copia exacta de la peli el duelo jaja...creo q no tuvieron problemas xq pertenecian a Universal.
@ojideagu well its not of all people steven speilburg would know thats how i found out about the rawr
@SlickCat57
Yep & it took him that long to get pissed off enough to get Hulk'd!

It is a same movie all the shots in the incredible hulk and the duel it had many same things that is none of props is different in both movie at all
Allright.....why not turn into jack stephen now......stephen...... .jaccck stephen......lmao.....
It would have been better with this lol!
Well that was unexpected
What if the truck driver was the sasquatch from the Six Million Dollar Man?
lol he mad cus he was late for work and then the truck driver make him mad in then he kill the truck driver nice video 👍
Who ever made this was a genius!
Absolutely well said, 😆
lol im happy they never made him turn into the Hulk .kinda gay lol
Jejeje buen trabajo! "beerdogfood", greetings! from Mexico.
@radbasstist1234 That is an extremely naive question. Chuck drives the truck!
Kind of like a more subdued, Croc-Pot Hulk. Takes him all day to get pissed.
Spielberg made a parody ending for his own film, how cool is that? Very...
Pisses me off that they actually stole from duel
Hahahaha He Turns into A Hulk Lol.....
Awesome,,,,Sicko blew up,,,Yaaaaaaaayyyyyy Horraaaayyyyy!!!!!
Don make David Mann angry, you dont like when David Mann is angry!!!!!
You wouldn't like Mann when he's angry
ルー・フェリグノじゃん!!
So the truckdriver farted and ripped his pants? Um...okay.

what the heck did the hulk tv show do this?
how does Duel have to deal with the hulk?!!
they ripped off this movie for a fall guy episode also
Looks so real

question why can. t we ser the truck driver
that was real good
Noice hahahaha best video ever
