  • Hello, my name is Manfred, I'm from Germany, and Duell is still one of my favorite movies. When my wife and I planned a vacation in California for 2018, I began researching locations and tracks for the film. The result of this trip, I would like to share with you. Enjoy :-)

The clostrophobic feel of dred in this movie is nerve shredding, ....transport your self into weavers character, and just the sheer utter terror and disbelief at what is happening , must feel like your living out your worst nightmare.....the suspense of the cat and mouse scenario builds to a dramatic climax ....a simple format executed to brilliant effect ....classic

We share a love of this movie. I was 11 when it aired in the USA originally. I of course have copies of it and am planing on visiting these sites in 2024. I am amazed you got there. When I am in Germany I haven’t ventured so far away from the more populated areas. My wildest adventure was the Rhine to visit the Blucher Statue (I do business with a descendent). Thanks for the video.

Nice touch of including the picture at 14:00 of a big truck behind as they drove. Like The Truck still haunts the area today.
Great images especially of the "hiding spot" as well of the (now inaccessible) areas of the final scenes.
Another RUclipsr went in 2023. In their video, the location of the road closer was actually closed as they drove by in 2023. Interesting coincidence.

I saw this movie in high school film class in 1991. A classic Spielberg film. Towards the end you can see and feel a lot of Jaws in the vibe. As CB the truck pursues Dennis Weaver, you can almost hear “Dun dun… dun dun…”
