I just played this in the MCC and, thinking I might hit an invisible wall or something, jumped to the scarab right away. I was dead wrong, and while I was very surprised by this, thr music kicked in. The best experience I had in the entire series so far.
I love how most of New Mombasa is destroyed and the Space Elevator instantly falls from the shockwave triggered by the Prophet of Regret's CAS-Class Assault Carrier.

Perhaps the most badass video game moment of all time. The ultimate "Hold my beer" Master Chief moment, paired with Steve Vai shredding on guitar...legend.
I don't think there is a worse designed "set piece" then this one. Seriously Halo 2 gets jerked off so much because it did online well, But it's a fucking AWFUL game design wise, SO fun dying in one shot to snipers after walking around a corner, Who ever made this AI can get fucked. Also the remake ruined all the music, It's insane this game gets rode like it does.
Do you realise how delusional this comment is? I agree with the music for the remake part but the game design is immaculate, same goes for ce and 3. Yes, it may be annoying to get sniped by jackals but thats why each map has so much cover. Playing as masterchief in halo 1 you get the whole run and gun experience, but now you have to also learn the basics of tactics and taking cover and playing more delicately as youre a super soldier, but also a great tactician.
